The Nykosian War was a armed conflict between the Yannis Empire and the League of Delona. Initially over Nykos, it soon turned into a coalition against Yannis and their Nykosian puppet state. The coalition, the League of Delona, included Azoz, Niani, Syres, Meshwati, Nykos, Karissa, and Lamigis.

173-180

Nykos fell early to Yannis, and a puppet state under Oronacus was formed. The League of Delona tried to retaliate, but failed, losing at Kulentabe (although with 4x less casualties than Yannis), Meshwati, and Delona. The only recorded League victory was a sea battle off the coast of Meshwati.

181-190

Meshwati proper was soon attacked by Yannis, and brave fighting from forces inside the city walls helped the siege become a stalemate and gave time for a 3,000 strong Syresian relief effort to help lift the siege, although both sides came out with around the same amount of casualties.

When Niani joined in 177, they engaged Yannis at Xanuys, which failed miserably, with one and three-fourths times as many casualties for Niani than Yannis. Niani, who had won a war against Yannis in the 120's and 130's, was demoralized and decided to stay on the defensive until years later.

181-190

After the crushing defeat at Xanuys, a skirmish turned into a battle at Southern Niani, and ended in another disastrous defeat, followed by another along the border, even with help from Azozian forces.
