Not to be confused with OTL (Second), OTL vs ATL (Revolution!), or Differences from OTL (Free as a Bird).

NOTE: You can hover over the Old English letters to see their more modern counterparts phonetically.

Basically, take everything from þe Original Timeline (OTL), and, ƿell... double it.

Other Differences from OTL[]

Earth3

A typical satellite picture of Earth I ITTL.

  • Of course, there are 4 biological sexes named male, female, hale, and somale, and the latter two are called bopsters and heirs besides the more familiar boys and girls ITTL. Each human has 4 arms, 4 legs, 4 hands, 4 feet, 4 eyes, 4 ears, 4 nostrils, 4 eyebrows, 2 heads, 2 mouths, 2 noses, being about 12 ft tall in more ordinary cases, etc. and most land mammals like cats (catts), dogs (hunds), and horses (hengests) share similar features but have 8 feet instead of 4. Plus, humans have more racial colo(u)rs too.
  • There are 2 suns, 16 planets, and between 10 and 16 dwarf planets in our solar system, and the Earth itself has 14 continents, 10 oceans, and 2 moons.
  • Due to what OTL refers to as 'the original World Trade Center' (including the Twin Towers (TTL: Quadruplet Towers)) still standing today ITTL, the 9/11 attacks were thwarted before they could cause major consequences for the United States of America. This permanently changes American history from politics to pop culture, including movie scenes featuring the Twin Towers (TTL: Quadruplet Towers).
  • Given the 'doubling' ITTL of YouTube, it becomes referred to as 'þe internet's Oliver Cromwell' due to its increased controversy compared to OTL's YouTube.
  • Base 20 (vigesimal) is used as the modern worldwide Hindu-Arabic numeral base instead of base 10 (decimal).
  • Although European diseases upon Indigenous Americans occur by the 11th century during the Viking Age, the latter population recovers long before future empires can fully exploit the situation a la The Fork in Time and The Kalmar Union. Therefore, the Americas all remain majority Indigenous continents ITTL in a way inspired by those two TLs, so many Indigenous American countries survive far longer than IOTL, with some even lasting to the present day.
  • Due to the Latin alphabet having 52 letters instead of just 26 ITTL, it keeps all the letters from Old English even after the pivotal year known as 1066, which is known for the Battle of Hastings and other significant conflicts. This results in a slower, more gradual, and less dramatic but also more diverse evolution of the English language that doesn't fully transform into Middle English until c. 1200, which was approximately 200 years later than IOTL. Thus, 'modern' English is much more Germanic and Romance-influenced at the same time, making it considered under both linguistic families while still being its own distinct language with some slight Ancient Egyptian influences (see Year for example).
    • As a result, the 'modern' English dictionary is more 'conservative'[1] and Germanic-influenced than IOTL. In fact, TTL's 'early modern' English doesn't begin emerging until c. 1600, resulting in the language retaining much of its archaic roots today. Therefore, late modern English looks more like this: Þē sƿift brown renard hoppeþ over þē sloƿ hund.”[2]
    • This also means that English's historical evolution IOTL is somewhat delayed by approximately 200 years due to the continuous Germanic influence ITTL - Middle English starts off in a slightly more archaic state during the High Middle Ages. The Great Vowel Shift is also a bit delayed ITTL, not occurring until the 16th century AD instead of happening as early as the 15th century AD - about 100 years later than IOTL.
    • This even means that England is still known as Englaland ITTL, which means 'Land of þe Angles'[3], among many other linguistic changes.
    • Further back ITTL's history, the letters J, U, and W emerge as early as c. 650 BCE instead of as late as the Middle Ages. Therefore, Ioannes becomes Joannes, Evropa becomes Europa, and so on, similar to how J, U, and W's trajectory went in The Fork in Time.
    • English also has twice the phonemes ITTL and has 200k words.
  • Due to the continued presence of Anglo-Saxons in the British Isles ITTL, English and British monarchs still wear Sutton Hoo helmets today. However, they also blend them with Norman and French influences after 1066.
    American flag 100 stars

The current OSA (USA) flag ITTL.

  • Also, due to being home to 100 states, the Oned States (and in the past, the Confederate States, despite the CSA never having 100 states despite TTL's 'doubling'; Oned basically means United) is even more divided than it is IOTL, with state admissions lasting into the late 2000s. Similar changes also occur with Canada having 20 provinces and 6 territories, and the United Kingdom having 8 constituent countries.
  • Additionally, due to the Soviet Union still existing today ITTL, OTL's Russo-Ukrainian War is nonexistent due to Ukraine remaining a Soviet republic.
  • As the Byzantine Empire still thrives today ITTL, Istanbul is still called Constantinople and it never falls in 1453 AD.
  • Many bygone empires IOTL are still extant in some form or at least survive longer ITTL (you may see the Holy Roman Empire and Mongol Empire as two of the many prominent examples of this butterfly effect).
  • Instead of dying, most monarchs ITTL choose to abdicate, resulting in more complex royal family trees both today and in the past.
  • Technology is more advanced ITTL than IOTL, since several inventions are made some months/decades/years earlier.
  • Twitter never gets renamed to 'X' ITTL.
  • China and Egypt remain dynastic monarchies ITTL like their ancient (and from ancient times to pre-World War I (1914-1922) days in China's case) past(s).
  • Also ITTL, Korea and Vietnam were always united, never divided - they also remain monarchies today like China and Egypt, and their respective wars have twists.
  • As the Viking Age lasts until c. 1339 ITTL, it outlasts the Norman conquest of England by about 273 years. However, its end by c. 1339 was also about 600 years before the start of World War II (1939-1951).
  • The world population is currently 16.2 billion ITTL, and there are 392 existing countries.
  • English has 2.9 billion speakers, and there's another habitable Earth beside ours ITTL.
  • The world's languages all have more phonemes than we can have ITTL.
  • Earth II has the same languages as the first one, and even has its own distinct version of English called [TBD Earth II version of English].
    • Furthermore, both planets orbit the same as each other including time.
  • The internet's data is about a tredecillion bytes nowadays, and the world fertility is typically four kids per woman.
  • Video game consoles are in their 18th generation with the PS14 and others ITTL, and all have exahertz, bytes, and zetta of storage too.
  • Education within the Oned States lasts until the 24th grade ITTL, but we also introduce 1 EHZ CPU by at least 2000.
  • 1400 films in the Oned States have been produced by big 10 LA studios.
  • We have 4 human wastes.
  • There were 140k nukes created in the Cold War.
  • We have a 48-hour clock instead of a 24-hour one, which by the way takes the place of OTL's 12-hour clock.
  • Cities are twice the size in population and area, and the most populous country is China with 2.9 billion people.
  • Cars are twice as long; 8 doors, can put 6 kids inside, and SUVs and wagons have 6 rows and can fit 10 kids.
  • Even the smallest of all houses in the entire world are twice as big, and the Baby Boom in the Oned States is usually 6 kids by 1960.
  • There have been 4 superpowers in the Cold War for 88 years.
  • We use currently use 8 yw of power in the world.
  • the vhs tapes would be 30 min-1 day the movies put in 2 movies common ones 12-16 hr
