The Oceania Union (Hawaiian: Uniona ʻo Oceania, Maori: Uniana Oceania), is a political and economic union of seven member states, located in Oceania. The union excludes the Australian countries.
The Organization was envisioned by Hawaiian President David Kalākaua Kawananakoa as a union between the Oceanic nations, that would serve to preserve their indigenous cultures and languages. He thought that this union would help harmonize the region.
Though the formation of this union was his biggest goal throughout his presidency, in was only formed it his final year. The founding nations were Hawaii, Fiji, and New Zealand. The rest of the Nations would join by 1960.
The Union has abolished Passport controls, and created a single market. A united military has been proposed, but has yet to be established.
