Beginning[]

In what many would describe as the beginning of the end, for the United States of America, came when during the infamous 3rd Presidential Debate, a blast from within one of the podiums sent both men flying either way. Vice President Biden was found lying on his back, body badly scarred and burned to the point where parts of his flesh began falling away. Incumbent President, Donald J. Trump, was lying in a pool of his own blood while laying stomach down and left leg in an awkward direction. He was quickly aided, however he was bleeding too badly, and passed away that same day. On October 22nd, history was made in one of the most tragic assassinations in the Nations history. Worse still, a sitting President and Presidential candidate had been slain, forcing the VP’s of each respective party to take the lead. This would already lead to issues for both parties, already approaching Election day, neither candidate had to full backing in the midst of chaos following the assassinations, nor the middle of the Pandemic.

Vice President Mike Pence was sworn in on October 23rd of the following day. Unfortunately, fate was not done yet, as on October 25th, as Mike Pence traveled to New York in order to make a public speech; shots were let loose on the Presidential caravan as Pence was taken towards the center of New York, and Trump Tower. The scene was filled with chaos, where once thousands of Trump supporters had lined the streets as they cheered the Vice President on, only to hear shots from seemingly all directions. Unfortunately, with how tightly compacted the streets were on that occasion, alongside the roars of the crowd, telling exactly where the shots came from became impossible and worse still, the caravan was left trapped in the middle of a cross fire. Soon enough, the motorcade was left in total chaos as the secret service desperately tried to protect the commander and chief. However, their efforts would prove futile as it was soon discovered he was left bleeding from the head in the back seat.

Apparently, a high caliber round was used to penetrate the glass protection, and left the three day President with a shattered skull. This news hit hard, as it seems now that an organization had schemed to assassinate the sitting President, and those close to the position. Fear gripped the streets, as neither side, Democrat or Republican, were sure of what to do with this news. With both the Republican and Democrat Presidential Candidate dead, it was clear that those responsible were not siding with either side. Rather, they were against them. Many public officials, statements, politicians and the like began being escorted closely as the Speaker of the House, Nancy Pelosi, was made to take the Oath of Office. As Pelosi took office, now as 47 President of the U.S. With the threat of a terrorist cell in the heart of the nation, fear began to give way into anger. Anger, which came about as soon theories spread. Chinese and Russian plots, radicals on either side, an anarchist cell, and many others. The fear and Anger that gripped the nation was unparalleled in history up to that point, as now the people sat at home in fear of more to come.

November came and went, followed by a silent December as most opted to remain home and watch the world outside. During this, the CIA and Intelligence community was having its work cut out for them, now having to handle the assasination of three Presidential figures in the span of mere days, a curfew was set in place, alongside the search and seizure of properties and individuals declared as “suspicious”. This led to growing public resentment and what many believed was a violation of the Bill of Rights. This was not helped when a number of rural citizens living in Alabama had their homes searched by a rather aggressive Police search. This led to many demanding an end to the curfew, alongside the restoration of civil liberties. Under advice from high-ranking officials, including head of the Central Intelligence Community, William J. Burns insisted on the need to maintain the curfew for the time being and uphold a ‘stable’ environment in order to search for those responsible. Regardless of the intentions, this was the beginning of even more disdain for the early Pelosi Administration. With the election having ‘derailed’ so badly, and with the chaos that had followed, it was decided that the election would take place a month later, rather in December to give enough time for two new candidates to take up the torch, but also keep the ‘sights’ off anyones heads till those responsible were dealt with. Time wouldn’t be a luxury the United States would get to enjoy, as on the evening of December 3rd, 2020 until 5th, the Democratic National Convention took place, shortly followed by its Republican counterpart on the 4th and leading up to the 7th. Pelosi would opt out of running for her own term, instead wishing to return to her previous post as House Speaker. Rather, Kamala Harris took center stage and in the eyes of many, was the obvious choice for a successor, being the last of the original four candidates still alive. Despite her position as the nominee, the Democratic convention was left in much chaos following the death of Biden, not to mention the controversy surrounding the event and Harris herself, a number of candidates would appear to take the nomination. In order to try and remedy the tension in the room, Tom Perez, as chair of the Democratic National Committee, opted to invite former President Obama to help cool tension. With the former and still relatively popular President Obama, many felt a sense of relief as the former President spoke during the Convention.

The Convention would ultimately end with Harris losing, due in part to much distrust and unwillingness to run her due to controversy surrounding her character. Bernie Sanders, Elizabeth Warren, Pete Buttigieg, and Andrew Yang amongst the few others present would make their Presidential bid. Ultimately, Bernie Sanders would win out, followed closely by Andrew Yang, Pete Buttigieg and Elizabeth Warren. The Republican primary was notable as Bill Weld, a Liberatarian, would face off against Joe Walsh, once more in a second round among a few other Republican candidates. Bill Weld, given the advantage of a divided Republican convention, would snatch the nomination for 2020. Despite this, the divide in the Republican and Democrat base would be hard to overcome.

December 18th, was when the Election originally set for 2020 on November 3rd, finally came to be. This election was considered tense, putting it mildly, as many citizens alike, expected a repeat of the incident before. However, ultimately, the Election would witness the Election of the first ever Jewish President, Bernie Sanders. Winning through a combination of pledging to avenge the fallen, and improve the standard of living in the U.S., would be sworn in on 2021, 1st of January. With it, the general public as a whole were generally neutral to the new President, rather wanting the change as Gas Prices, rising tensions in the streets, the continued police seizures, and decline of the economy in general. President Sanders would ultimately begin his first 100 days by passing several bills, more than even under the administration of President Franklin D. Roosevelt, which included a voting rights bill, tax reform, and putting an end to the Police Seizures and forcing Departments across the U.S. to strictly search the background of individuals, followed by a warrant. These measures would ensure a brief end to the rise of public anger and resentment, however this wouldn’t be for long.

On February 1st, Vice President Elizabeth Warren was in the state of Maine, attending a presidential rally and gathering the needed support for the recent Voting Rights Act, currently being held back in the Senate. In mere moments after taking to the stage, the Vice President was left in silence after several rounds broke through the cheering crowd and left her front stained in blood. In mere moments, the area was sent into a frenzy as major news outlets reporting the event live, were sent recoiling back and causing many present to take shelter. The Secret Service Agents sprang into action easily, one catching sight just where the shooter had seemingly fired from, which was just across the way from the venue being used. Officers would descend on the complex from all sides, eager to catch the perpetrator while the Vice President was quickly whisked away. Unfortunately, the bullets had struck, and severely damaged a lung and the VPs spine. With either damage, Vice President Warren's health was instantly at full risk, thus forcing those present to move quickly. Mere hours later, Vice President Warren passed away from injuries. President Sanders, still located in the Oval Office of the White House, was instantly placed under the close and watchful eye of the secret service agents present. D.C. and other cities were placed under curfew, and a return to the months of the ‘Police’ Scare seemingly were returning.

A week following, January 8th, President Sanders would host the funeral service in D.C., before the barrel took place in the dead's home state. Time passed and for the remainder of the year, seemingly an era of peace came and went, as the world continued to revolve forward. This wasn’t too late, as Air Force one was preparing to take off, an explosion tore the aircraft to pieces on the tarmac. Left behind was a mess of Aircraft parts strewn about the runway, along with the tragic loss of parts of the current administration's cabinet, being recalled back to Washington to meet personally with the President. A lockdown went into effect, the state of emergency extended to near indefinitely, while President Sanders was quickly taken to shelter away from the White House.
