Open Room is a free not for profit online encyclopedia, data base and education forum was formally founded in 2009 by a team of Greek, Sicilian, Turkish and English academics. Open Room is designed to be an unbiased international center of knowledge, which allows an open source editing to a degree. Based out of Greece Open Room is the seven largest online encyclopedia but the largest website that is not supported by a government, intergovernmental or corporate organization. Open Room is available in many languages but parts of the website are blocked in certain countries or larger empires. Open Room has controversy, being attacked by multiple organizations for allegedly promoting dissent or supporting established authorities. In 2011, Greece was challenged by the Great Eight for continually hosting Open Room, nonetheless Open Room has become an accepted source of knowledge around the world and is developing a reputation for academic integrity. Open Room has one million articles in English.
