The Pact of Sion documents the pact and union of the ten cantons of the Swiss Confederacy with the two cantons of Wallis and Freiburg, and also provides modern reform to the Swiss Confederation.
Terms[]
Terms of Union[]
- The House of Freiburg will join the Confederation of Switzerland, and will be organized in the confederacy as the Canton of Freiburg.
- The House of Wallis will join the Confederation of Switzerland, and will be organized in the confederacy as the Canton of Wallis.
Terms of Reformation[]
- The cantons of the confederacy will unite their armed forces into a single institution that will be controlled and financed by all the cantons through the national Tagastzung. The Swiss Mercenary Corps will become a special division of the army, and will function with allegiance to the confederacy.
- The national Tagastzung will receive expanded authority over foreign affairs. Cantons may not ally or create trade deals outside the pact and the confederacy unless given explicit permission through the Tagastzung.
- The national Tagastzung will receive expanded authority over the education in the cantons.
Terms of Status[]
- The "Unified Swiss" language created by Hans Zuremburg will become the national language. This means it will be used in the Tagastzung, formal state documents in cantons, and will be the primary language of the education system. The language will hereby be known as "Eidgenossenisch". Cantons will have the authority to tolerate other languages, but the primary language will be Eidgenossenisch.
- The twelve cantons will have no official religion and religion will not interfere in state affairs. All religions will be tolerated in the confederacy.
