Pedro IX (Augusto Pedro Makuta Nkondo, born 5 April 1948) is the current King of Kongo. He assumed the kingdom following the death of his mother, Isabel I. Currently, Pedro IX is the longest-reigning monarch in Kongo history and known as the Reformist and the Modern. His ascension to the throne effectively ended the abdication crisis in Kongo.
