The Empire of the Persians - commonly referred to as the Persian Empire, the Iranian Empire, the Empire of the Iranians, or simply just Persia (or alternatively Iran) is a large, autocratic monarchy in the Northeastern Middle East. The country borders Byzantium to the west, Muscovy to the north, and India to the east. The country's capital is Tehran, which contains approximately 12 million people and is its largest city.
