Britain remains neutral due to being the first nation in history to outlaw slavery in 1833. However, in this universe, Britain had previously gained Cuba. Cuban slaveholders announce they will be shared by Britain and the CSD, thus Cuba becomes the only British territory with slavery and the only territory (the floating plantation) of the CS. The US and CS sign a treaty granting Peaceful Divorce (France is not invited.) Prussia tries to buddy up to the US against France. When WW 1 breaks out on August 23, 1914, Britain is bound to help France - however, since Chamberlain is prime minister he holds back - in WW 1 it works - unlike our universe's WW 2. Canadian troops are strictly defensive - with options for self defense. No over the top - the success inspires early end to same in Europe. Under the Peaceful-Divorce treaty CSD remains neutral - Cuba remains neutral. No US are troops sent to any foreign land. WW 1 ends similarly to ours due to Canadian Province of Alaska. In 1939, remembering WW 1 started on August 23. Stalin refuses to team with Hitler - announcing USSR neutrality.
