The Philippines, considered as a democratic socialist republic, is one of many countries, in the Left Revolution, which adopted a multi-party capitalist democracy while retaining socialist ideals. The socialist and center-left parties are in coalition with the government, unlike in our actual timeline, they are in armed struggle against the government.
