The Polynesian Confederacy, also known as the United Nations of Polynesia (Hawaiian: Kaumokuʻāina Hui Pū ʻia o Polenekia), is a loose political union of Polynesian states, founded in 1753 with the Treaty of Kohola. Founded by the Kingdom of Hawaii as a coalition of all its "Maluʻāina", Hawaiian for "Protection Land", essentially the equivalent of protectorates, located within Polynesia (primarily the Society Islands), the Polynesian Confederacy is composed of three major kingdoms: Bora Bora, Tahiti, and Huahine.

The Kingdom of Hawaii is often considered to be outside the jurisdiction of the confederacy despite being a member, although the Hawaiian chiefdom of Hema Pae 'Aina, the southern most part of Hawaii's direct territory, acts as a de facto member of the union, as the local leader of the Confederacy, the "Kiaʻaina" (Governor), is also the Chief of Hema Pae 'Aina. Although the Kiaʻaina essentially governs the confederacy, the Monarch of Hawaii is de jure the Confederacy's chief leader.
