President Alckmin

The Governor of São Paulo, Geraldo Alckmin, ran for the second time in Brazil's elections in 2018. From the beginning in opinion polls, he was the favorite until Lula's possible candidacy. With the squid rights being cut by the STF, alckimin was once again the favorite. In the first round he was in first with 44% of the votes, and in the second he got 56% against PT Fernando Haddad. It was the biggest advantage of popular votes by the PSDBin the party's history, surpassing Lula's 58 million in 2006 Brazilian general election.

Alckmin took office on January 1, 2019, becoming the 38th president of Brazil. And also the second president of the PSDB for Brazil, after 13 years of the PT era.
