The President of the United States is the head of the American executive branch. The President is elected by the electoral college and, indirectly, by the people of the United States to serve a four year term. In the 1880's, a constitutional amendment was passed limiting the President to two terms, regardless of whether or not they were consecutive. The current President of the United States is
