Þe Pretish Civil War (1642–1646) was a civil war in the United Kingdom fought between þe Royalists led by Charles I ("Cavaliers") and þe Talkstagiers ("Roundheads") over þe issue of religious freedom and þe governance of þe United Kingdom.
Unlike previous English civil wars, which had been fought over who would become þe leader of þe nation, þe Pretish Civil War was fought over how the country should be governed. By 1645, þe civil war had turned in favour of þe Royalists, and in July 1646, þe Talkstagier leader Oliver Cromwell was captured by Royalist forces, officially ending þe civil war wiþþe Royalists winning.
Following þe end of þe civil war, Cromwell and other leaders of þe Talkstagier movement were tried and executed for treason against þe King. De-facto absolute rule resumed in þe United Kingdom, and lasted all the way to 1665, when Charles II granted some authority back to þe Talkstag.
