The Prime Minister of Russia (Russian: Премьер-министр России), officially the Prime Minister of the Russian Federal Republic (Russian: Премьер-министр Российской Федеративной Республики), is the head of government of Russia.
The office of the Prime Minister of Russia was created in 1905 during the revolutionary unrest in the Russian Empire. Although after 1905 Russia was partially a constitutional monarchy, the Russian Emperor still had unlimited power. After the overthrow of the monarchy in 1917, the Russian Provisional Government and later the Russian Republic were established. During the existence of the Russian Provisional Government and the Russian Republic, there were provisional governments headed by Georgy Lvov and later Alexander Kerensky. The current office of the Prime Minister was created with the establishment of the Russian Federal Republic in 1921. The term of office of the Prime Minister is four years, and the Prime Minister can be repeatedly elected for an indefinite period.
Since 2021, the Prime Minister of Russia is Alexey Nechayev.
