Prince Alexander, Duke of Edinburgh (Alexander William Frederick Edward;b.14 April 1955)
Early Life
Alexander was named after his great-great grandmother,Queen Alexandra’s masculine form, also from his father’s middle names and his great-grand uncles, The Duke of Kent and Strathearn and The Earl of Athlone. He was also named after King Alexander of Scotland.
Alexander is known as “Alex” between his family and friends. It was a pseudonym of his father in the Armed forces during WWII.
