The Ming Dynasty still rules over the vast lands of China. On the other side of the world, the Hundred Years War continues between England and France. Europe is still stuck in the old ways of feudalism and chivalry while the notions of a New World are considered figments of imagination.

We welcome you to the long awaited fourth expansion of that immortal series. Welcome to Principia Moderni IV! Starting in 1400 AD, this is the dawn of the modern world and the tail end of the Middle Ages. The Renaissance is just kicking off in Europe, while the nations in the western side of the continent are locked in the last gasp of the Hundred Years War. The Muslim world is still reeling from the invasions of Turks and Mongols, with the Caliphate resting in the collapsing Mamluk Egypt and the Ottomans on the rise in Anatolia. Make it count.

The first game was the most successful on the wiki, leading all the way to the modern day with mostly plausible posts and little controversy. The second game reached almost to the modern day, but failed due to a plethora of ASB events and moderator bias. The third game was much more worthy of the first, almost running into implausibility but climbing back into a shining glory by the end. Riding on the latest reforms of map games since the end of PMIII, this is the most logical next step in that evolution. Remember above all other rules — have fun.

Banned Users

A ban from plausibility strikes lasts thirty days, after which the third strike is repealed and the banned player is unbanned. However, the newly unbanned player rejoins the game with two strikes, as a form of probation.

Plausibility Strikes

Three strikes and you're out! Each strike resets after 30 years of the most recent strike.

Moderator Strikes

These are strikes for moderators and how they moderate. The same three strikes rules apply. If a moderator is banned from moderating, however, they can still play as their nation. Mod strikes can be delivered in one of three ways:

  1. If a sufficient number of players (more than half of all players voting) vote to give a moderator a strike.
  2. If I, Scraw, give them a strike.
  3. If a majority of all mods (ie more than half of the total number of mods, excluding that moderator) vote to give a moderator a strike.

Moderators can be given strikes for the following reasons:

  1. Exhibiting bias that would benefit the nation they are playing.
  2. Exhibiting bias that would negatively affect a player they have a personal dispute with.
  3. Making a ruling that contradicts a proven fact from OTL or an established fact from earlier in the game.
  4. Overruling a decision of a majority of moderators.

The Game

1610

Due to the Hitlerite War, a brief famine arose that threatened the people in southern France and Germany. In France, the people were momentarily reprieved from this catastrophe by gorging on the abundant surplus of Apple Sauce.

Meanwhile, Hitler leads his army through southern Germany, gaining followers as he goes.

  • Korea: With the heir apparent coming of age, Crown Prince Kim Hoseok succeeds to the throne as the Emperor. Former monarch Kim Sin-bi abdicates but nevertheless retains her powers as Regent until her young regnant reaches the age of twenty-one. The promising colony of Haegajang in Papua New Guinea further expands its territorial boundaries, and now houses thousand residents. Slightly distraught after receiving no response from local chieftains, Governor-General Dae Il-sung sends an expedition is sent to the interior of the island to explore its geography. Meanwhile in the Manchuria, soy and wheat is cultivated en-masse, facilitated by the influx of emigrants from Korea (which have come to comprise a third of the total population). However, the vast fertile plains also provide a suitable environment to grow cotton as a cash crop. As part of its assimilationist program, the usage of the Manchu language is restricted in official documents and receipts, and the application of Hangul over the traditional Manchu script (which itself is modelled off the Mongolian script) in writing is enforced. The queue and Manchu traditional clothing is discouraged, but still tolerated. An edict is issued restricting the attainment of tertiary education by Manchu commoners, making them accessible only to Manchu aristocratic families (of which many are loyal to the Korean government) to ensure Korea retains its grip over its dominion. Korean place names are standardized in both Manchuria and Nivkhgu, and are used alongside endonyms. After sporadic secessionist rallies, the Peace Preservation Law is approved by the imperial court and the monarch, which places harsh penalties on political dissidents. The Korean mun (the legal tender) continues to become a legitimate medium of exchange (replacing low-value copper-based coinage), thanks to the usage of gold bullion to stabilize its currency. The Ministry of Finance utilizes its newfound affluence to fund modernization programs; developing the Nakdeong and Han River canals and paving roadways. Meanwhile, commerce is heavily patronized and promoted whilst industrial complexes and the military are both intensively developed. The quota of gold bullion exports is set at two tonnes per year (which is equivalent to roughly 144 tonnes of silver). Korea continues to cement itself as a bastion of Christianity in the Orient; with nearly forty percent of Korea adhering to the religion (of which a vast majority would be adherents of Nestorianism). Perplexed by the arrival of the Bulgars from the far West, the Emperor himself appoints them to the central palace in Hanseong and personally addresses them welcome to the country. A series of gifts are given to the emissaries, including intricately made golden-plated jewelries and silk clothing, as well as one turtle-ship armed with naval artillery. While having no ambitions in Siberia, emissaries are sent to the Mongols offering a thousand ounces of gold in exchange for the annexation of that panhandle (MOD RESPONSE) which would be equivalent to 2.25 tonnes of silver.
  • Knights Hospitaller: The Knights have a have a population of around 88,000 (Colonists and 1% growth) and have a navy of ten ships. In New Rhodes, their is a build up in our industry by offering grants for skilled colonists. Immigration speeds up to 3000 a year due to land grants and the religious in Italy as we offer refuge to the people affected by the war. Due to our small size our population can only provide 880 soldiers though we make sure that they are highly trained. We have finished the restructuring and rearming of the military into a modern army trained in Iberian tactics. With expanded Papal funding and Burgundian investment we begin to restart expansion soon after the reorganisation of the military. There is movement beginning among the people to secularize into a more efficient centralized state. Due to years of conversions and influencing, the Knights feel comfortable in sending diplomats to the Christian native chiefs and allied chiefs to offer vassalage in exchange for military support in helping subjugate the other tribes, technology, weapons, as well as great internal autonomy (Mod Response). (Only applies to the southern half of the Seminole territory here, does not mean full control of the region but rather a presence in that region, some chiefs may accept and some might not. Please pay attention that I have been converting for a few decades, and been influencing the chiefs for at least two decades). The knights are planning on moving the capital onto the mainland in order to help with communications.
    • Maryland: The colony of Maryland is small with around 42,000 colonists and 6000 native converts. We build a medical school in Maryland in order to combat new diseases while we also build a ship yard to help with trading. We finish colonising Manatee county though we stop to populate our lands and consolidate our claims. We increase our efforts in sending missionaries north hoping to convert more of the natives while we also attempt to convert native leaders, we also focus on gaining more influence with the Seminoles in the north and after many years we seem to be making significant progress. We try to get the Christian natives to ally or to be become our vassals. The natives have been almost completely assimilated into our society after decades of conversion and education.
    • New Crete: It has a population of 4250, Andros Island is fully colonized though we halt expansion and consolidate.
    • Neues Deutschland: We settle in OTL Alabama in OTL Mobile county with a population of 16,000 colonists who are majority German. We have fully colonized Escamba colony and halt expansion to build infrastructure. We begin sending experts to start industry in the colony as well as to set up farms and plantations. We send an expedition of soldiers and missionaries to make peaceful contact with the natives and help convert the natives. We begin to try to make peaceful relations with the natives and prevent further conflict.
    • Some chiefs agree, while the rest are scared of being attacked for aligning with the Knights. -scraw
  • Rashidun Caliphate: As art and architecture continue to be produced in the empire, Caliph Al-Ruqqaya continues to devote himself to the piety of the people. A great many theologic debates are brought to Damascus towards his recent decision to end the slave trade, but he managed to defend his position succinctly using passages of the Hadith and Quran. Trade continues to proliferate across the Indian Ocean and East Asia, with a new diplomacy sent to Korea towards remodeling the Mosque of Busan, and a shipment of sugar canes for the King. Missioanries sent to Southeast Asia spread Islam to the growing plurality in Malaya, Viet, and Java. New ships built in Cyprus are given to the Sultan of Morocco to help him spread Islam to the New World. As theologic debates open up the question between Sunni and Shia faiths, the Caliph makes the following declaration: "for over 800 years (in the Islamic Calendar), the holy office that succeeded the Prophet was unlawfully given as property to a heretitary line of impious and foolish men, who wrongfully siezed the title from its rightful succession with the martyrdom of Ali ibn Abi Talib (PBUH). But now, as God wills, that era has been put into the past, and so now is the appointed time to make amends of these past sins". The Caliph then invites the Ziyadi leaders in Iran to come to a Grand Council at Basra to discuss the theologic issues separating the sects of Islam, and hopefully see an end to the schism. (ETHAN PLAYER RESPONSE). The leaders of Ibadi Islam are also invited to this council, as a sign of good faith.
    • The Iranian Shahanshah sends in the leaders of the Yiyadi sect to help mend broken ties.
  • Aryavarta: In an attempt to seize power and ensure the throne for his lineage, the king, Amar Singh tries to purge the bureaucracy of his enemies. He tries to kill his ministers but the governor of Magadh, Mahendra Sharma revolts against him, he and the other members of the council, including Guru Hargobind, leader of the Khalsai sect force the king to abdicate. This decision is supported by the people. Amar Singh had lost public favor due to his inability to right the wrongs which lead to defeat in the Aryavartiya-Muslim War. After the abdication of the king, the council debates intensely on the issue of creating a new government, the TICI heavily influences the council proceedings. Finally the council decides to abolish the post of the king and turn from an elective monarchy to a republican dictatorship. Mahendra Sharma is elected the Mukhya Rashtra Adhyaksh (Chief National Head), the Rajya Shastra is revised and a new government is put in place. An official name is adopted, Aryavarta Rajya (State of Aryavarta). Aryavarta becomes a bureaucratic republican dictatorship. The first decision taken by the council is the creation of a separate roads and transport department. An order is issued for the reconstruction of the Uttarapath, Dakshinapath and the Kalinga Road. A new plan is put to place for the construction of a Grand Chord. (Pushkalavati-Lahore-Jodhpur-Gwalior-Delhi-Kannauj-Patna-Gaya-Hemgarh(OTL Calcutta)). Holi and Chhath Puja become major festivals. As Magadhi influence grows, Mahendra Sharma proposes the shifting of the capital to Patliputra. The council supports the decision. The capital is moved to Patliputra.
  • Scraw approval- nope. -scraw
  • Other Mods-
    • As the one who made the government type its not available yet. All of the Republican forms were to be locked until 1750 and beyond. Wait awhile -Feud
    • Depends what the intent is with a "Republic". Obviously Rome and similar Republican governments existed before the enlightenment, and particularly has basis in India: Mahajanapanda . However, if we are restricting a "Republic" to the modern sense of full democracy, that would have to wait -Nate
    • Even though it's not properly democratic, the requirement for 'public support', and the speed of the transition, make me say you should wait, and then when you do it, do it gradually. ~Cal
  • Republican Dictatorship- This is a step up from elective monarchy. The head of the council is the Mukhya Rashtradhyaksh (Chief National Head). All members of the council are elected from the bureaucracy. No position is hereditary. When a position is vacant the council votes to choose the new member. The bureaucrats are appointed according to the rules laid down in the Arthashastra and the Rajya Shastra. Public support of the region from which a person belongs is necessary to be a part of the council. This is based on the Vedic oligarchic republics and the bureaucracy is based on the Ashokan and Pali bureaucracy. The government is not centralised. The people dont elect the members of the council. The council elects itself. The oligarchy here is the bureaucracy. The council holds absolute power over the state but each member is limited by the others and the council is limited by the Rajya Shastra. To make changes or amend the Rajya Shastra a 2/3 majority of the members of the council is required.
  • Need more appproval than one mod for govt switch -Feud
  • Swahili: We continue our agriculture policies. The royal guards continue capturing slaves. Areas interior to Mobassa and Malindi is colonized. We also send out conquistadors to expand northwards into more northern Somalia. We continue development of Madagascar. With Iranian weapons, the first full firearm regiment is trained and will be used as the elite force. With the sale of old ships, explosion of the banking industry and new trade routes secured from the Golden Jihad, merchants ships increased significantly. As a result, the first stock exchange in the world, the Mogadishu Stock Exchange is opened in Mogadishu, trading commodities and ship stocks. With the newest ships built, the Sultan funds a voyage to travel to Europe, bringing 5 galleons and many wares, gold and ivory.
    • Swahili Diplomacy: We propose a trade league with Iran, Bahmanis and the Caliphate to require all future ships trading and passing through the Eastern Indian Ocean to have purchased a pass from any of the four governments. The income would be used for the improvement of naval and trading facilities in the Eastern Indian Ocean.
    • Iran Dip: Iran supports the proposal.
  • Papal States: The Pope thanks the Venetians for their actions last year, and states his hope that Venetian troops will leave the Papal States fully next year. The envoy to the Bulgarians in Ancona reiterates his request that the Bulgarians now withdraw, seeing as the negotiations between the Papacy and Venice have been successful. The war continues in the North, with the Papal army assisting the allies fight Hitler's troops. Overseas, the Bishop of Nagasaki travels to Tondo and consecrates the Abbess' nominated priest as a bishop; the first priest of the Adelphinian Order to be raised to the episcopate. As Tondo is a missionary province and thus doesn't have a proper diocesan structure yet, he is named titular bishop of Aeclanum. Missions in Giapan, Korea, China, the New World, and Southern Africa including Angola, continue to gain adherents for the Faith.
  • Empire of Iran: Sultan Souroushpour abandons the title Sultan and adopts the title, "Shahanshah." Emirs become Istandars, while Grand Viziers and other nobles become Vuzurgans. (Scraw said I could do this). This causes some unrest, but the Shah reminds his people he is not leaving Islam, and that this is a progressive era. Ottoman style public baths open up en masse and the aqueducts and sewer system improve, with many toilets opening. Heavy cavalry lightens up, and begins to be armed with firearms.
    • Emirate of Sindh: The highly populated area of Sindh's military grows to 15,000. Hindu's move to Aryavarta. Iranian style architecture and infrastructure is adopted. Iranian elites and the Indian begin to mix. The Iranian rulers begin to adopt Indian culture. Emir Mirza Nur-ud-din Beig Mohammad Khan Salim, a former Gurkani noble, descendant of Timur, is declared Emir of Sindh and Indianizes in his image. For now, he is allowed to keep his title of Emir, unlike his Iranian counterparts. Unlike thier Iranian counterparts, they are allowed to keep the title of Emir.
    • Emirate of Banten: Shia Islam continues to spread. The military is trained in Iranian tactics. Iranians and Indonesians begin to give birth to mixed children. The cities are built in Iranian style architecture. Banten this year has gotten a printing press. They are also allowed to keep the traditional titles. They are allowed to keep the title of Emir.
  • Kingdom of England and Ireland: With the end of the civil war and Edward in France, Farage sets about making his reforms. His main goal is to form a solid army answerable to the crown with the Royal Army being 53,000 men. It is a draft army with all freemen and burghers being eligible but only some selected for service. The recruits are mainly taken from the towns on England and Wales as well as some rural freemen. These people are expected to regularly train and drill themselves with all soldiers being placed it into a geographic regiment which trains together while in war men are organised into a series of regiments with the Grenadier Guard as the lead regiment. There is heavy emphasis on the ability of cavalry and pike men to hold formation at all costs while musketeers are expected to be able to perform effective mass volley fire. Artillery and logistics are improved with the creation of separate wings for both of them which focus on specialising. The fiances of the crown are in serious trouble with the nation struggling to pay for 2 wars and an ambitious series of improvements and so Parliament is given more power by the Regent in exchange for agreeing to a vast new regime of taxes with the first progressive tax on the income of people is made in England exclusively at the start. Parliament has to be called every time a new income tax is to be issue so in effect Parliament has to be called yearly. Taxes are set at 5% of a person's income. There is also heavy customs on all manufactured goods being brought into the country. Land is also taxed as a proportion of it's value. With this new source of income coming in it is hoped to rebuild the fiances of the country. The continued development of canals is halted due to the fiance shortage. The development of the colonies in Arcadia continues with migration to these colonies and pushing to set up more farms. Trade with Africa and Asia continues through England's various locations. The population is at 4.2 million in England and 1.2 million in Ireland.
  • Maiam: The country is torn by small Nativist revolts. Nativist and Loyalist conflicts break out in the farther regions of Maian territory, but the core territory of the Yucatan peninsula remains relatively free of conflict. Expansion continues along the southern border, focusing on the coast. Work continues to renovate and update existing buildings and roads and to create plans for future upkeep and renovations. There is some internal turmoil as the dominant Mayans impose their laws and culture on the conquered Mexica. Former Mexican royalty is forced to marry into Mayan lines. Small rebellions are put down. (Note: Mayan and Mexican refer to the cultural groups, Maian refers to the nation as a whole and its government.)
  • Russia: We continue expansion in Siberia at 45px. Some explorers come back with the tales of an ice lake that is huge and many local fishermen have reported some "monsters" in it. Continued fighting against tribes leads to an increased military presence in the Frontier.
  • Japan: Last year, the central government in Kyoto continued to be in a state of chaos, which arose from the raising of the military for an offensive war against Borneo. One faction, the isolationist faction, arose originally arose in rebellion, stating that wars of foreign conquest have only ended badly. The main concern, however, was that  was raising of armies was against the daiymo of Japan, which drove the rest of Japan into oblivion and anarchy as the various daiymos rebelled against Kyoto and waged war upon eachother simultaneously. Miraculously, however, Bulgarian emissaries arrived in Kyoto and swore loyalty to the Emperor, and with their help, the Emperor finally restores order in Kyoto, purging dissenting daiymos out of court and forcing them to force in the army. DUring this time, Kyoto comes under siege, and only under the Emperor , with the help of the Bulgarian Emissaries does Kyoto unifies against a common enemy- the Daiymo, and they are defeated and executed due to being disunifited against eachother. In the aftermath of The Siege of Kyoto, the Emperor proclaims "Behold, I am the Emperor of all of Japan, and it is only through me that life and death is chosen. Obey me and my laws, and you shall live. Rebel against me, and you shall surely perish. My only intent is peace, but there can only be peace with war, and I do not intend to wage war upon Japan. No, I intend to wage war upon Borneo, and conquer it, for their land is rightfully Japan's, and they shall be blessed under our benevelent rule. Thus, I call upon 50,000 soldiers and 500 ships to invade the nation of Borneo." Thus, war is declared and the troops go from Japan to Taiwan, and from Taiwan Borneo is invaded with 50,000 troops and 500 ships.

1611

At Walter Rattlerake's last recorded play, King William III, the Royal Theater of London was accidentally burned down.

The first annual apple sauce festival is held in several peasent villages in southern France.

The current ruler of Dai Viet, hearing legends of the Towers of Hanoi from his grandfather, visits the temple once again. The Buddhist monks report that there are 9,650,016,000 moves remaining to finish the towers, but he may have lost count during the last generation. The monks follow up telling the young king not to worry, as they also have the steadily-growing toenail of Ardhanarishvara to keep their clocks accurate.

In response of Japan invading its protectorate, France sends its navy to defend the island from Japan. They send 50 of their most modern ships to deal with the Japanese (way to many ships in asia nate.) A result of this also brings them to hire mercenaries in the area marshalling nearly 20,000 well armed natives under direct control of soldiers on the ships, coloquially becomming known as marines.

Mongolia sells off a track of land to Korea, and uses the money to centralize their government.

Hitler and his army are defeated in a grand battle in Bavaria against the entire coalition. Almost all the men involved on both sides die, but as Hitler is dead, it is regarded as a victory for Christendom. In Italy, the lieutenants he left to govern Lombardy and Florence go to war with each other to determine who is Hitler's true successor. Meanwhile, the Iron Crown of Lombardy is stolen in the middle of the battle.

  • Rashidun Caliphate: After the Grand Council of Basra last year, the religions of Sunni and Shia slowly begin to be merged together as one faith. The Caliph pushes though the Ulema a series of liturgical and doctrinal reforms to reflect the comprimise proposed at the council. Although there was a strong opposition within the Ulema to these innovations, they were eventually won over. Imams from the Ziyadi sect are added to the Ulema as voting members. Due to the recent war in Indonesia, the Caliphate sends a peaceful expedition to ensure the Muslim population on Boreno is safe. Seeing conflict arise again in southeast Asia, the Ulema reiterates its offer to make Aceh a protectorate of the Caliphate (MOD RESPONSE). Music continues to be innovated with greater variation and mood. As such the Viola is invented at this time in Damascus. The Mosque of Busan is fully reconstructed by the embassy growing ties in East Asia. Missions in Southeast Asia, Central Africa and the New World continue. Seeing Oman once again ignore the efforts of the Caliph to normalize to any semblance of peace, Al-Ruqqaya sends the following letter to the Sultan:
    • "To our cherished antagonist, these many years you continue to alienate the rest of the House of Islam to pursue goals contrary to the bonds that bind our world together. Rather than enumerating these past faults or wasting our time with further diplomacy, we demand Oman submits itself to the Caliphate as a vassal, so that we can properly fold both its government and religion back into the realm of peace. If you have any desire to resist becoming our vassal, know that our creative capacity to deal with you is infinite, our resources are endless, but our patience, sad to say, is quite limited. Need I sign this? You have been warned by the Caliph Umar Bahar Al-Nassar Nur-Raman Al-Ruqqaya, Commander of the Faithful, Protector of the Two Holy Mosques, Emperor of Africa, the Holy Sultan of Sultans"

  • Pontus: We develop the ports of Tskhumi, Batumi and Trebizond, in order to sell gold, silver and iron. Ottoman goods are shipped through Tskhumi and Trebizond towards Vladimirgrad, Vasiligrad and other western ports. We begin developing the capital of Batumi further and give Trebizond many trading rights, to appease the Greek Pontic population. We continue trade links with Bulgaria and Russia. Due to Hitler's mania and posession by the Devil and the inaction of the major powers of the East, anti-Eastern Orthodox corruption and pro-Miaphysite propaganda continues to be spread by the government. While our army garrisons Northern Italy against future attacks, the navy begins to spur on trade again in Italy.
  • Knights Hospitaller: The Knights have a have a population of around 92,000 (Colonists and 1% growth) and have a navy of ten ships. In New Rhodes, their is a build up in our industry by offering grants for skilled colonists. Immigration speeds up to 3000 a year due to land grants and the religious in Italy as we offer refuge to the people affected by the war. Due to our small size our population can only provide 920 soldiers though we make sure that they are highly trained. The knights decide upon relocating the capital to Maryland soon. There is movement beginning among the people to secularize into a more efficient centralized state.
    • Maryland: The colony of Maryland is small with around 45,250 colonists and 6000 native converts. The knights begin preparing to relocate here as their main base and so a heavily fortified star fort is being built in the centre of the city to provide refuge in siege and as a centre of government called Fort St Elmo and ask Burgundy to assist us in building this (Player response). The natives have been almost completely assimilated into our society after decades of conversion and education.
    • New Crete: It has a population of 4250, Andros Island is fully colonized though we halt expansion and consolidate.
    • Neues Deutschland: We settle in OTL Alabama in OTL Mobile county with a population of 18,000 colonists who are majority German.
    • Seminoles: Many Christian Seminole chiefs in the south of the tribal territories as well as Knight-allied chiefs agreed to be vassalized by the Knights. There is currently a population of roughly 16,000 natives. Immediately after the vassalisation of the natives, the knights immediately send military experts and 300 soldiers to help secure these tribes and train the natives in warfare. They also begin building fortifications in the native settlements to prevent native raids, such as earthworks, palisades, watchtowers and ditches. The knights send priests to help proselytise the populace. Schools and churches are built in order to help educate the natives. There are also agricultural, and technical experts sent to help improve the natives agriculture as well as teaching them how to mine and set up basic industry. Doctors are also sent to prevent diseases from spreading. The soldiers set up patrols to protect these tribes from hostiles as well as securing the region in order to make other tribes feel safe enough to join us. The knights also tell Christian natives to flock to the tribal lands for protection and prosperity. Many people of native descent travel from Maryland to the Seminole lands to help them modernise. There are also talks of establishing a council of native chiefs to form a federation. Weapons are sent to the natives to give them an edge over their opponents while we tell our merchants to prioritise our vassals, Christian natives, and our allied tribes for trade rather then the other tribes giving our vassals an edge.

  • Iran: The Shahanshah Farzad Souroushpour announces he will support the Caliph in a war against Oman, as Islam is one and united now, and we share a common goal. He says, "you mess with the Caliphate, you mess with Iran." Ottoman style public baths open up en masse and the aqueducts and sewer system improve, with many toilets opening. Military complexes open up en masse to produce many advanced firearms for our military. Heavy Cavalry gets lighter, being armed with handguns. The ancient Iranian empires are studied en masse. Souroushpour claims he is the inheritor of the Achaemenid throne, the only difference being, he is a Muslim. People are now taught to pray five times a day on the ground.
    • Sindh: By now, the Emir has become an Istandar. Iranization is continuing. Military is at about 15,000 strong. Islam continues to spread. People are now taught to pray five times a day on the ground.
    • Banten: Indonesia gets its first Istandar. People are now taught, as per merger, to prey five times a day on the ground. Iranian style military training occurs, and weapons factories are built. Cities are built with Iranian style architecture, and mixing between the natives and Persian immigrants occurs often.
  • Aryavarta: After Amar Singh's death, Mahendra Sharma was elected king by the council. Holi and Chhath are now widely celebrated. As Magadhi influence now extends over the western parts of India, a uniform cuisine starts to take shape. Magdhi cuisine is heavily influential. The consumption of pork had increased in Magadh and Punjab/Rajastha region due to the spread of the Vedic revivalist movement and materialistic movement in these parts of the country. The Vaishnav centres of Benaras and Mathura still prohibit non -vegetarianism but in other areas vegetarianism completely broke down. A greater use of Mustard oil is witnessed even in the western parts signifying Magadhi influence. Even though wheat is not widely consumed, rotis of Millets such as Jowar and Bajra are widespread in the west. Peanut oil sees a decline in usage and mustard is now more widely cultivated. The food of the common people consists of rice, millets and coarser grains. Their diet now consist of meat, mostly pork and chicken. They eat Khichri which is rice mixed with lentils and pulses. Meat variants of khichri have also come about, now consumed by the majority of the peasantry. The domestication of animals is now widespread. The poorer peasantry also consumes littis, which are balls made of wheat or millet flour shells generally containing sattu. With the widespread consumption of littis, also due to the ease with which they can be cooked, various varieties have started appearing with various fillings including meat. Pork stew with a few spices is also another widely consumed peasant dish in Magadh and the west. The better off people and the upper class have meats consisting a greater portion of their diet. A resurgence is seen in the consumption of deer and duck meat along with the consumption of small birds such as pigeons by the poor peasants. Fish is more common in the coastal areas and with a resurgence in non-vegetarianism is more widely consumed. The tandoor is more widely known with great use in Punjab and the area around Delhi. The concept of a community kitchen develops in the villages of Punjab. With the tandoor comes the consumption of naans by the middle and upper clasees and roasted chicken now called tandoori chicken. Components of central Asian cuisine, mainly kebabs are now widespread. The most famous meat dish amongst the middle and the upper class is the Lal Mans curry which can have chicken meat or lamb meat. Ghi and Gur are widely consumed by the rich and poor alike though salt is a bit expensive. The reconstruction of Delhi is ordered. A plan is created for Delhi and that Delhi will only consist of brick or wood houses. Mud houses in Patliputra are destroyed and new brick or wood houses are built. A plan for proper housing for all is created and this will be fully implemented by 1630. Roads are upgraded and widened. A department is created for the upkeep and construction of roads.

  • Tondo continues to expand its settlements in East Borneo. Seeing the influence of Borneo as being a major competitor in the region, as well as a desire to remove French influence from the area, Tondo joins the Japanese in war against Borneo and her protector, sending the support 15,000 men and 300 ships to Borneo. Lakan, Kalambu I, tragically dies, with his heir ascending to power. The new heir, much like his father, is interested in the western powers, and has spent considerable time around missionaries. Much of the same projects and endeavours as his father are continued. Naval construction and build up continues.
    • Korean diplomacy: Afraid that the colonization of Borneo by Japan may threaten Korean interests in the region, Korea sends a ton of gold (equivalent to about seventy-two tonnes of silver) to Tondo to assist its war effort and as a sign of friendship.
  • Kingdom of England and Ireland: 50 ships are sent along to Borneo with the French fleet in support of France. Good trading relations are request with the League of Westphalia. (Mod response required) In England taxes continued to be raised with Parliament again approving the same taxes it did last year. to rebuild the national treasury while the Royal Army is maintained in it's dormant state. Mass migration continues to occur to Arcadia with both Britannic settlers and Africans settling. New Gwynedd is expanded 50px to the north and Western Arcadia 50px to the south. Migrations to New Canterbury also continues to occur and the colony expands by 25px. The colonies in Arcadia continue to work with a cash crop economy of growing goods such as tobacco, rum and sugar. The various institutions in England such as the navy, the road system, the canal system, the grammar schools, coastal defences and the universities are maintained. Trade with Africa and Asia continues through England's various locations. The population is at 4.2 million in England and 1.2 million in Ireland. The theatre which burnt down is massive shame because now no one can watch the very interesting plays by Walter Rattlerake and school children will not be able to analyse his works. So therefore, the King orders a new theatre to be rebuilt and it's walls to be made of stone.
  • Papal States: The news of the defeat of Hitler's force by the Holy Coalition is greeted with ringing church bells and public jubilation. After a thanksgiving Mass at St Peter's, Pope Innocent sends a gold medal to the leader of the Papal forces. The collapse of Hitler's regime and the ensuing instability in Lombardy and Florence is concerning to the Papacy. The Pope reaches out to the new government in Venice to discuss a permanent resolution to the instability to the North. Missions overseas continue.
  • Russia: We continue to expand 40 px into Siberia. More "traitors" are hanged and public opinion turns begins to turn against Czar Ivan.

Japan: The invasion of Borneo is a resounding success and last year we conquered Borneo in two battles and it subsequently came under Japanese occupation. This year France, with the help of England, launched a counter invasion of Borneo in an attempt to reconquer the island nation. Fortunately, however, Tondo came to our aid, and our combined forces decisively decimated the French-Anglo marines, soldifying our territorial control. Two plans are drafted for next year, one to make a peace treaty with France and two to continue the war with Tondo. Borneo comes under military occupation and development begins. Internal development continues in Japan.

The Kuzir sect of Islam greatly spreads throughout central Africa, merging many of the branches of African polytheism into a single faith.

A mystic virgin in southern France, known as "La Dame des Pommes", begins reporting visions of God while partaking in the divine sustinance of Apple Sauce.

Although still appreciating the protection for his Hindu state, the Raja of Ceylon nonetheless pushes for slightly more autonomy from Burgundy, at least for the ability to raise and command his own military.

  • Tan Dynasty: Years of centralization and concentration on the economy begin to pay off. The nationalization of printing firms continues. The imperial exam system is reformed to follow the efficient song model which lead to great achievments in the Song Dynasty. The use of ancient song dynasty begin to be rediscovered and incorporated into the dated technology of the current civilized in comparison to the song technology and culture. (Insert sian renaissance analogy here). One of the first tech designs rediscovered is the ancient Song Grenade which begins to be put into use. Tan begins to remain less isolationist than the Ming and Hong and Jia dynasties. We offer Burma to become a tribute of China offering them up current tech, economic benefits, and protection as motivation (Mod Response).
    • Kingdom of Tali: This year the King of tali is found mysteriously dead, his much weaker and easily controlled brother comes to rule. He begins to appoint Confucian officials, stated to be because of their merit, but there is some doubt. He begins to start a process of instigating hatred of the minority Hui Muslims who have long ruled the nation who comprise 10% of the pop, attacks begin to occur on this Muslims and discrimination. Most believe this to because he is being controlled behind the scene by his Confucian advisors.
  • Aryavarta: We seek to establish better relations with Ceylon. More banjar land is brought under cultivation with funds from the state. Fairs are regularly held in the villages. The population of Patliputra now stands at 800,000. Universities and cities continue to expand. A sewer system is laid in Delhi. The revenue collection system proposed by Raja Todar Mal in 1572 is fully enforced. Revenue is now collected only by state appointed officials using fixed rates. Standardised Rent rates are dicussed by the council. Standardisation of rent rates will help the tenants who rent land from landlords. A centralized military bureaucracy is established. A military council with 8 chairs is established consisting of the Head of the Military Council, Head of the Navy, Head of logistics and supply, Head of training, and heads of the 4 fronts (Eastern, Southern, Western and Northern). All members of the military council are part of the council. Schools for the training of soldiers are opened in Kathmandu, Hemgarh, Gaya, Lucknow, Delhi, Udaipur, Lahore and Pushkalavati (OTL Peshawar). The students who perform well in these schools are sent to the Officers Training academy at Ujjain. The cavalry is lightened up and a shock cavalry division is created, the Raiders. Calibres of the Artillery are standardized. Uselessly large cannons for grandeur are not produced. The Raiders also act as scout units.
  • Rashidun Caliphate: Art and music continue to be advanced, as the viola becomes more ubiquitous in various places. Progress continues to be made to merge Shia and Sunni sects based on the Council of Basra. Missions continue to Southeast Asia, Africa, and the New World. Refugees are taken from Brunei during the conflict with Japan, while Ulema gravely considers the actions of China against the Hui people, in terms of their economic relation. In Africa, support is given to the rising Muslim population, albeit they adhere to slightly different theology than what is accepted in the Middle East. As Oman ignored our gracious warning, the Caliphate invades Oman with 20,800 troops. Half of these troops invade across the border with Yemen to meet Oman's defenses at the oasis of Al-Mazyunah, while the other half invades south across the Jabal Shamar. Meanwhile, 312 ships commanded by Al-Nasser the Great Admiral invades the straight of Ormzud and engages the Omani navy at sea. Crushing the forces of Oman on all fronts, the forces close in to besiege the capital of Muscat. The eastern front of the campaing relies much more heavily on cavalry and infantry, in order to capitalize on the regularly flat terrain, wheras the northern campaign over the Jabal Shammar rely much more on heavy artillery, mostly Great Bombards.
    • Sultanate of Gujarat: Military and economy improves. Trade greatly helps strengthen the nation as they serve as a gateway to India and the rest of Asia. The Ayatollah of India at Ahmedbad administrates over the growth of Islam in the continent, and especially the unification of Shia and Sunni. The navy is deployed to aid overwhelming Oman.
  • Knights Hospitaller: The Knights have a have a population of around 113,000 (Colonists and 1% growth) and have a navy of ten ships. In New Rhodes, there is a build up in our industry by offering grants for skilled colonists. • Seminoles: Many Christian Seminole chiefs in the south of the tribal territories as well as Knight-allied chiefs agreed to be vassalized by the Knights. There is currently a population of roughly 16,000 natives, while there are 250 Christian natives relocating, 500 of assimilated natives, as well as 1000 colonists and experts to help advance this society. There are also talks of establishing a council of native chiefs to form a federation. Weapons are sent to the natives to give them an edge over their opponents while we tell our merchants to prioritise our vassals, Christian natives, and our allied tribes for trade rather then the other tribes giving our vassals an edge.
    • Neues Deutschland: We settle in OTL Alabama in OTL Mobile county with a population of 18,750 colonists who are majority German.
    • OOC Person: Alright I ignored this for a bit but that is a 22% growth in your population and your on the other side of the Atlantic. 1% growth is very high anyway especially for a frontier state and honestly how many colonists are you going to be getting.
    • Burgundian dip: Burgundy agrees to fund the construction of the Maryland fort, and in a show of goodwill, offers to gift a set of Antwerp-made 75 pound cannons to arm it, as well as offering to strengthen the Knights' navy with an order of frigates.
We continue trade with italy, while our army returns home to Pontus.
  • Brunswick: The economy begins to invest in Brunswick while the towns are about to begin building. The industry however looks to grow and invest next year. No plans on fortifications as they concentrate on army for modernizing and recruiting for a self defense on upcoming threats from other nations. There have been discussions about the infrastructure in Brunswick whilst it's indeed on hold for better status. Brunswick hopes to have good relations with other nations and better economy in coming years.
  • Cologne: Archbishop Baldrich is overjoyed at the death of the devil Hitler, and the people of Cologne are imbued with a strange mixture of celebration and mourning, having lost the vast majority of their soldiers. The few men who return are honoured on a plaque in the Cologne Cathedral, and Baldrich gives small monetary bonuses to the families of the men who fought in the great war against Hitler, in order to assist them with their grief and financial status in the aftermath of war. Meanwhile, trade gets up and running again, as does the construction of roads through Burgundy and the rest of the HRE. They are about halfway complete. Meanwhile, one of the returned soldiers writes poems about the Iron Crown of Lombardy stolen from the Great Battlefield of Bavaria, publishing them a few years after the battle, with the original Stelzner printing press. Slowly, the military begin to rebuild. Archbishop Baldrich finally gets time to send a return letter to the Holy Roman Emperor in Prussia, thanking him for the offer and secretly promising to get ahead with this plan for peaceful secularisation in the coming years.
    • Essen: In the tailor outside Essen, the canonesses continue taking the habits to Isengard, who highly approves but suggests a cross perhaps be emphasised in the embroidered design, so as to make it clear that the Adelphinian Canonesses are in fact Christian. Meanwhile, the newly-consecrated bishop in the Adelphinian Order in Tondo, Alwin Wolfgang, thanks His Holiness the Pope and the Abbess of Tondo for raising him to such a position, and begins ordaining priests and deacons. The Adelphinian Canonesses in Tondo take great interest in the new Lakan, and assist his war efforts with morale-boosting packages sent to many troops in the military. While the war continues, many Canonesses, both local and German, take time to run not only the schools, universities, and the small infirmary, but do some building on further infrastructure and learn certain traditionally male arts in the absence of men. Additionally, they ask the Lakan to support further infrastructure projects (turning the infirmary into a larger hospital, run publicly by the Canonesses) when the war with Borneo is over. (Tondo, please reply) Meanwhile in the New World, Adelphinian Canonesses follow the Knights Hospitaller in their interactions with the Seminole chiefs (becoming teachers and nurses), making important cultural connections with the children and women in each community. The Canoness-Consul advising the Hospitaller councillor for the area near the Seminoles is adamant that church schools and hospitals should be all-inclusive and involve the teaching of native customs in the light of Christian principles. She and her Canonesses work with the locals and begin to devise a plan for how to best incorporate Seminole and Christian values into the fledgling education system.
    • Tondo approves these actions and will collaborate on these projects to the best of our ability.
  • Iran: Iran joins the war against Oman, invading with 100 ships into Qatar. Ottoman style public baths open up en masse and the aqueducts and sewer system improve, with many toilets opening. Iran is now likely the cleanest place in the middle east. Meanwhile, an ideology is adopted by many peasants, "Neo Zoroastrianism," taking the philosophy of the Zoroastrian religion, and taking the religious beliefs of Islam. This is very controversial, and the Shah is unsure what to do about these groups of Peasants.
    • Sindh: The Sindh vassal gets Iranian infrastructure and architecture. Mass gunsmiths open up en masse. The Istandar teaches the newly merged faith of Islam, such as praying five times a day on the ground.
    • Banten: Roughly the same infrastructural plans as Sindh, and their Istandar teaches them the new way of praying.
      • Aryavarta Diplomacy: We will accept the neo zoroastrians.
      • The Neo Zoroastrians, not wanting to abandon their traditional homeland, do not flee to India, and decide to begin covert missionary activities in Iran. They are led by an unknown hermit. **SECRET-The hermit has an alternate Shah who he intends to contest the throne with ready to fight against Farzad Souroushpour.
  • Deccan Sultanate: The unification of Shia and Sunni Islam is welcomed. We join the war against Oman sending 200 ships. Military complexes open up with Irani help. Aqueducts and sewer systems are built. We propose a technology sharing treaty between the Arab Indian Company. (PLAYER RESPONSE). Urdu and Persian continue to be replaced by Dakkhani. We receive refugees from Brunei.
  • Kingdom of Burgundy: Guyana expands 50px west. The Cape Charles Colony, Avelskamp, and Nova Belgica expand 50px each. New Netherlands expands 50px up the Wacht River (otl Hudson River). In response to the Raja of Ceylons request, the East India Company field directors in Kolon Thota, while keen on preserving the Colonial Guard, who by this point have become akin to a separate warrior class, approve a resolution granting the establishment of a Rajal Bodyguard, similar to the Emirical Bodyguard in the Johor Emirate (Burgundian Singapore), a separate armed force under the Rajas command, purposes with police and security in the capital province, but who can be efficiently integrated into the Colonial Guard in times of conflict. As another appeasement, the Raja is granted the ability to join the East India Company's meetings that deal with domestic policy. The battered Army of Champagne returns home after their victory over Hitler's heresy. As they parade victoriously through Brussels, Empress-Regent Elisabeth orders the Burgundian flag drooped in salute. Later she dines with the army commander, her cousin Frans, Duke of Guise and officers who distinguished themselves in the campaign. Many of the latter are the common-born officers the recent reforms have begun to allow. This strengthens the call for the establishment of a House of Commons. Aiding this cause, and also as a result of the Hitler campaign, is the weakening of the side of the movements opponents, largely the French nobles from the south. As the Army of Champagne was comprised largely of the former levies from their lands, they had hoped to stymie the pro-Commons movement by reclaiming their former levies and using military pressure to have the matter dropped, if not reverse the drain of influence from the south to the north. However the substantial casualties the army sustained makes their potential force much smaller, and worse (from the French nobles' perspective) the campaign, and the army reforms (including the commoner officers, who by extension also get the ability to seek audiences with their superiors, noble-born or not, also means the soldiers concerns get voiced to the commanders) has solidified the soldiers' view of themselves as a "Royal Army" as opposed to a feudal one. This causes some of the French nobles to fall into silent discontentment, while the more fanatical in their beliefs in refusing the advancement of commoners simply become more vocal in their opposition.

The colony is established a consortium of English bankers who settle a few hundred people both English and african to establish a plantation growing sugar and other valuable groups. The population is at 4.2 million in England and 1.2 million in Ireland. Construction of a new London theatre continues. A ton of Yorkshire Apple Sauce is sent to the Virgin of France.

The city Algiers is made the capital of the Sultanate as its population grows,The 2nd biggest city is Rabat as Naval troops being to start families in the area. The Sultan begins to works on cities by opening markets and trading centers mostly at Algiers. The spread of Islam in Zaire is less about shoving it down people belief but more of gaining trust of people by giving out food and things like that, after gaining trust of people we begin to spread Islam into Ziyi (Kongo).Ali al Baba is ordered to work to make more improved ships to reach the new world. Our ships are sent to trade with Zaire,Mali, and tiny west African states.
    • Tajammad Emirate: The Emirate works on preparing for the cold seasons by collecting firewood during the summer. Walls and Houses are reworked on to defend the "Ansari" from animals. Hunting parties are sent to hunt down animals and eat them, while some are killed for there winter fur. A mosque is made. Nurullah is made the leader. Trade and hunting group finds 3 tribes of the Cone of America (Ona,Haush, and Fuegians) and begins to trade with the Ona people by selling them Caliphate Swords and Bows and new Arms. Some of teh Haush land is given to Tajamidan people to rule these areas are called "Forts".Nurullah begins his trade with the Ona giving them more weaponry, a second war of expanstion begins with the start of a joint Ona-Tajammadian attack first assaulting the mainland with Ona and Tajammadian troops, the assault is easy due to our arms, after taking the Mainland the Ona and Our Warships begin to assault tiny Islands after bombing the coastline with Canons, with a victory more Forts are made, as the Ona is left to the Ona to pick, secretly without Nurallah order his "right-hand man" Abu Hassan gives out smallpox to some POWs . The port (not the best or biggest) of Tajammad is re made along with ocean defense walls and gun ports made along with 50 cannons. The population stands at 4,320 people with a slow rise in pop.
  • Papal States: The Papal Army is slowly built up to deal with Hitler's Diadochi in Lombardy and Florence. The Papal Nuncio to Venice suggests a partition of the area between the States and Venice. In other news, an Inquisitor is sent to investigate the orthodoxy of the Dame des Pommes; in a Post-Hitler world, one cannot be too careful about visionaries. The Papal Nuncios to France and Burgundy ask whether either country might be interested in dislodging the Infidel Moselems from their nook in the New World. Missions continue, with lots of effort being put into Southern Africa
  • Scandinavian (Kalmar) Empire: The Scandinavian army is growing, and young troops are being added to the army during the reign of King Henrik I.  Our king orders explorations to the northern parts of Scandinavia, as well as the Kola Peninsula.  We have created a few settlements, and hope to coexist with the Sami tribes living there, and to integrate them into our empire.  We establish trade with the nations of Prussia and Hungary.

1613

Although there are mixed feelings among the nobility in Ceylon about the Dutch, the Rajah gladly accepts Burgundy's proposal.

Thanks to the supply of Yorkshire apple sauce from England, Le Dam de Pomm relates her visions of the corruption of the Church who wrongfully slew Hitler, and of the coming judgement day in 1666. Those that come to hear her begin cleansing themselves in the buttery fruit. (Mott event)

Hitler's lieutenant of Lombardy defeats his Tuscan equivalent and moves into Savoy to pacify that area, coming into direct conflict with the French force sent to recapture it.

A cousin of the French king, Henri of Orleans, is elected King of Sicily.

  • Rashidun Caliphate: Music and art continue to thrive, although the peak of that trend has begun to pass. Instead, a scientific revolution begins to unfold, as the writings of Al-Babil from decades ago are utilized to make new theories on anatomy, biology, and chemistry once more. A theory for the circulation of the blood is published this year. The Caliph continues to merge the Shia and Sunni faiths while working with the Ulema, while at the same time accomodating for the new sects that have arisen in Iran and West Africa. Having crushed the military of Oman in the desert, they are then crushed at Muscat. The Admiral Al-Nasser, in old age and reaching retirement, lives like a prince off the the pensions of the Ulema, and founds a naval academy in Aden. In this same year, the Treaty of Aden is put forward as a new settlement for the borders of Arabia, after Oman was defeated in the war last year. The governments of the protectorates in Indonesia are more firmly settled, with more military stationed in Sumatra to help improve the nation. Unfortunately, in the Ottoman Empire the Greek and Turkic populations continue to have trouble coexisting. Everyone praises Al-Ruqqaya for his wisdom and piety. The economic proposals of Deccan and Swahili are both accepted
    • Oman does have a choice my friend. At least a year more. You have not paid attention to the population score cap in your algorithms and you knew of the pop. score cap. -Dev
    • Fine, its fixed
    • Oman to Rashidun: Although we have been beaten, all but the last term of the treaty is agreeable to us. We will not accept your attempted suppression of the Ibadi faith. We reject this treaty.
    • Just saying in terms of how this war is playing out, i will let General continue on fighting a guerilla conflict. Success or not just hinges on the actions of both players. I will run it by other mods before fully confirming this ability though -Feud
    • Rashidun: very well, we will permit the Ibadi faith to be practiced independently
    • Oman Diplomacy: Oman rejects this treaty altogether. The ambassador representing King Taamir insists that the Omani people will not submit to the Sunni Caliphate, nor to the Persians. He condemns the Caliphate's actions as warmongering, and claims that Oman has always been (politically, religiously, and geographically) separate from the rest of Arabia.
    • Rashidun dip (to Maghreb): 500 ships from Cyprus are sent to Tunis to defend the homeland of Morocco if necessary, but while there, the embassadors of the Caliphate iterates that the Caliph would not support Morocco if it attempted any offensive war against European nations or territories in the future (it's for the best)
  • Brunswick: The economy continues to improve and progress on its current status. Towns and buildings are continue to construct in Brunswick as population is expecting to grow bit slightly. Modernization of the military is also progressing with no plans of the weapon development, but it's recruiting more men in the military. Still no words on fortifications in Brunswick as farms are about to be expected to built.
  • Aryavarta: A general plan is drawn up for the future development of all towns and cities. This plan is based on the one which Patliputra had developed. According to the plan there will be 3 major roads running from North-South, East-West and a ring road running around the city. The NS and EW roads will intersect at right angles and there will be a big roundabout, the centre of the city which will house the government offices. Delhi is reconstructed according to this plan. Buildings in the cities can be built with brick and lime and can have a few wooden components. It is now comuplsory for cities and towns with more than 100,000 people to have a municipal council. 4 storey buildings are the norm. A colossal building is constructed in Patliputra, the Rajya Parishad Sadan (Chamber of the State Council). The religious books and epics are now mass printed by the various printing presses. Novels begin being written and slowly a reading public develops. Magadhi influence extends to the Malwa and Gondwana. The reconstruction of Kathmandu begins. The domestication of milch cattle is supported by the state. Large stables are constructed in the cities and monetary incentives such as houses and an assured source of income is given to the peasants and the tribals to resettle in the cities. More land is brought under the plough and landless peasants or tenants are granted land in these new areas. Officials are now regularly transferred.
  • Venice: The army is of Venice is rebuild as much of most of it consists of mercenaries. Accepts the Pope's proposal to partion the Northern States, but we believe that in order to partion them first we must take them from Hitler lieutenants. We start a massive effort to replace the old ships in our fleet which is currently capable of sailing in the Mediterranean sea, with caravels and galleons to keep up with the rest of the European sea powers in terms of naval capabilities and power. Also there are certain major families that seek to extend the Venetian trade outside of the Mediterranean sea, as they see colonial ventures as way more profitable than the declining trade in the Mediterranean sea. We start We ask Bulgaria if they would be willing to assist us in this upcoming fight. (More to come, btw i was on a school trip for the last three days.)
  • Papal States: The Inquisitor sent to investigate the Dame des Pommes denounces her as a Hitlerite, and asks the French government to suppress her dangerous ramblings. The Papal Nuncios to France and Burgundy again renew their request that either or both countries destroy the Moselem settlements in the New World. Rebuilding of the army after the Hitlerite Crusade continues, and Venice is informed that the Pope intends to begin the invasion next year. Back home, the Cardinal Vicar-General of Rome and the Latin Patriarch, in light of the Hitlerite heresy and the accusations of corruption by the Dame des Pommes, begin inspections of the diocese in Italy and other Catholic countries to ensure that the disciplinary reforms of the Council of Cologne, as well as of previous Popes, are being rigourously enforced. Overseas, the Missions to Giapan, Korea, China, the New World, and Southern Africa continue. Japan is asked whether, given the growth of the Catholic population, the government would object to a second diocese being erected in the country, this one centered on Edo.
    • France answers the call and DECLARES WAR ON MAGHREB. -scraw
    • The Caliphate points out to the Pope that, since the High Rennassaince, the Caliph and Ulema have been more open towards relations with the Romans, strengthening their enclave in Jerusalem and Antioch more than the Orthodox. Also, Morocco had made an agreement with the Holy Roman Emperor to not intefer with any European colonization north of Pantagonia.
    • Japan refuses to the opening of a second diocese in Edo due to lack of a Catholic population but would be willing to open one in Kyoto since there are a substantial amount of Catholics there.
    • Having been appraised of the true nature of the situation by the Caliph and Ulema, the Pope bashfully apologises, and asks France to call off the attack. Pope Innocent will personally reimburse any damage, and he also asks for a proper Papal-Caliphate treaty to formalise the situation in the Holy Places in the Holy Land, as well as the situation in the New World. The Japanese proposal for a Kyoto Diocese is accepted.
  • Iran: The sect that had previously been known as the Neo Zoroastrians have now evolved into the Rahimi sect of Islam, named after their founder, Al Rahimi, and they are rapidly converting people, mixing the religion of Islam with the philiosphy and words of Zoroaster. Ottoman style public baths open up, and the aqueduct system improves. Sewer system improves, with toilets being readily available to the wealthier of the populace. Heavy cavalry gets lighter, being armed with hand guns and their armor starting to lighten up. The Shah announces he will tolerate the sect, ending Al Rahimi's plan to revolt.
    • Sindh: Persianization continues, infrastructure improves. Otherwise, nothing of note.
    • Banten: Persiainization continues, infrastructure improves. Mixed Iranian Indonesian children are born. Otherwise, nothing of note.
  • Teutonic Order: The economy is improving at the coastal areas where lots amount of Prussian Marks are spent upgrading and modernising the ports and ships. Teutonic army is being less and less paid as they don't see themselves going to war any time soon. Grand Master Jan Kasper von Stadion of Teutonic Order goes to Danzig to spectate the improving of the navy. The major ports that were made was in Danzig so it seems reasonable to do so. Roads connecting to the capital, Marienburg are improved to increase trade within the nation.
  • Teutonic order was absorbed by Prussia almost a century ago -Feud
  • Thanks Feud for telling me this, Prussia should have updated the Teutonic Order page or atleast the nations so others can know. -Sergiusz01
  • Some of those pages are a Tad Dated. Dont worry if you have questions look for nations on the map that do not have a color. That will give you and idea of whats open -Feud
  • United Bulgarian Tsardom: The Empire after some years of relative inactivity with many practices continuing under the Tsar and his beraucracy. The Nobility for the most part has come under the watchful eye of the Tsar and his personal retinued in Vasiligrad with a full section of the city becomming known as "The Royal Quarter" as most of the nobles set up their housing in the area building imaculate residencies and royal apartments which are set up in the city blocs extending from the royal palace. Of the massive nobility in the empire made up of Vlachs, Serbians, Bulgars, integrated Greeks, and Moldavians, the vast moajority are obligated to set up shop in Vasiligrad under the Tsars watchful eye. However to make room for nearly 10,000 nobles and their families and retinues. This however leads to the displacement of nearly 50,000 freemen and merchants who begin massive protest in the city, however it is alleviated rather quickly as Tsar Vasili in a shrewd act of diplomacy with the leaders of thr protest offers to pay for the development of the "Freemans District" which is given a huge payment to rebuilt their lost homes in the central sections of the city. While grumbling the offer is a take it or leave it which is more aggressively taken following the involvement of the Imperial 5th legion which prompts the protest leaders to accept the deal or potentially face slaughter. The City of Oured (formerly Bucharest) is finally fully rebuilt and in the style of many of the other imperially administrered cities is architectually restructured. The large influx of Bulgars and Serbs into the city bring with it the newly emerging Belkan culture and identity which noticeably has meshed the Serbian and Bulgarian core cultures, while having a little flair of Greek and Vlach culture as well. This is all tied together with the Balkan common language developed known as Jugoslavic or "Belkan" as it becomes known. This language remains spoken cheifly by the Nobility, Bereaucrats and high level merchants, but has trickled down to the large freemen population which has become more educated over time specifically under language in which Belkan has become more common. The Population of the Empire reaches 8.9 million and growing as a population boom occurs. The nearly century old project of further working on the Danube delta and its lowlands occurs as intense work is put in to drain some of the swampy portions of the Delta making room for some expansion of cities like Kaloyagrad and Constanta which have been constrained heavily by the swampy lands around the Delta. Its also predicted that as in the Burgundian Low country territories, the same can be done in the Danube Delta creating a virtual massive breadbasket for the empire on top of the already well established farmlands along the Vlach plains, and the Carpathian foothills. A Bulgarian mercenary which took part in the French conquests of the Quechua states in French Peru, that agricultural marvels were abundant in the small kingdoms and has well drawn pictures as well as extremely sophisticated descriptions of the irrigation systems. A plantation owner pays the man handsomely for his services and begins to implement them in the hills and mountains of the Balkans building them exactly as described. While the irrigation is not as good as their originators, the ability to deliver water to the crops is not an issue and harvests are good. The Food surplus is extreme for this plantation farmer as he has taken to adopting some of the Crops brought back from the the new world.
  • Electorate of Saxony: Birth of the Prince-Elector's son, called John George II, Elector of Saxony named after himself. Streets are covered in crowds at the Dresden Castle where John George I anounces it with his wife, Duchess Magdalene Sibylle of Prussia. Flags of the royal house of Wettin and the national flag are seen on the streets, markets are open to celebrate the Prince-Elector's son and also music can be heard all over the streets like Wilsdruffer Street and Terrassenufer Street. Tournaments such as jousting is seen next to the Castle at GroBer Garten where the 3 main winnors were Emil Kehlman von Dresden Till von Bautzen and last place, Ernst Fux von Zwickau. All of the 3 winners would be if not already granted a honourary title of knighthood of Saxony and knighthood of John George II. They would also recieve a invite to the banquet in the Dresden Castle. Due to the birth of the heir. The economy withen the country grows and local townguards in cities and town are funded to keep the crowds civil. John George II is also baptised in the Wittenberg church to symbolise its unity with Lutherism. Taxes rise to accomidate for the birth. Meanwhile a rebuilt of the walls of Meissen to a stone wall with two round towers at the river Elbe. Roads OTL National Primary Road 4 and National Secondary Road 6 and 97 are improved to stone in improve trade within Dresden and other cities close like Wroclaw or Leipzig.
    • There is no Lutheranism TTL, the Reformation was very different. ~Cal
  • Oman: Although the Siege of Muscat has ended in a defeat, the will and fighting spirit of Oman has not been broken. From the interior of Bahla and Nizwa to Nejd and Al-Hasa, Omanis resist the Rashidun occupation and what they view as they attempted destruction of their homeland, culture and religion. Bands of Ibadi irregulars, militia and tribesmen, armed with muskets, harass the Caliphate's forces, especially on the borders of Yemen and Nejd, where the lack of secure supply routes causes severe attrition to the invader's armies. Mubashshir al-Obeid, a prominent tribal leader in Al-Hasa, has managed to recapture much of the Eastern Arabian coast and assert his independence from the Caliphate. His domains are protected by a chain of hill and mountain fortresses extending from Qatif to Al-Hasa, from which he makes guerrilla-style raids on Rashidun territory. Meanwhile, the state of Al-Qamar in Madagascar (which has been an integral part of Oman for decades) remains unaffected by the war. King Taamir al-Barakat has fled to Vohemar, the capital of the Omani government-in-exile. He proclaims that Oman will continue to defend its borders against Rashidun aggression, and the Grand Imam makes a similar statement. The resounding and overwhelming message is: "Oman will not so easily surrender."
    • Omani Al-Qamar: Vohemar is declared the capital of Oman until Nabhani rule is restored on the mainland. Armies are raised in Mahajanga, Vohemar, and Tawamasina, composed chiefly of Arab settlers with a minority of Malagasy and Swahili, and numbering ~6,500 troops. Three mercenary regiments are hired as well, numbering ~3,000 (Mod Response on the specifics/behavior).
    • Bandar Qasim: Bandar Qasim gains de facto independence following the Siege of Muscat, but Omani merchants still have influence in the area.
  • Kingdom of England and Ireland:  In England taxes continued to be raised with Parliament again approving the same taxes it did last year. Farage land is expanded as more settlers are moved in and the main fort and port is named Borisville while the colony expands 20px to the north west. The King is now 16 and will rule in his own right in 2 years. The population is at 4.3 million in England and 1.2 million in Ireland. Construction of a new London theatre continues. In response Le Damm de Pom visions of corruption and judgement day intrigue some English and more top quality peng Yorkshire Apple sauce is sent to this visionary of apoclyptic destruction. This is the first interest England has shown in Hitler and the apocylpsyts.
  • Cologne: Archbishop Baldrich also condemns the Dame de Pomme as a Hitlerite, while at the same time increasing the strictness of the Holy German Tribunal and sending letters reminding the populace of the fairness instituted by the Court of Church Discipline back in 1400, which has been running in the Holy Roman Empire and associated nations since the early 15th century, and has rooted out all “church corruption”. In the Holy Roman Empire, at least, most of Dame de Pomme’s words are brushed off as heresy. The few who follow her are appropriately dealt with in the Holy German Tribunal. Meanwhile, trade continues and the roads in the Holy Roman Empire and leading into Burgundy are about two thirds built. The Nordrhein Highway becomes a key vein for trade in the region, if it was not already, because now it is connected to the larger road systems that continue to expand out from Cologne. Archbishop Baldrich hopes that, upon completion of the road system, secularisation in the HRE may get ahead. He continues advocating for peacefulness in the League of Westphalia meetings, and requests that a representative from both Burgundy and Prussia, the big powers, join the meetings to discuss the future of the region.
    • Essen: Canonesses in outer Essen continue taking the habits to Isengard, who sends them out to all Adelphinian Canonesses in Cologne, Essen, and the Nordrhein area. Meanwhile in Tondo, the Bishop of Tondo continues to ordain priests and deacons wherever necessary, and several local Tondoese men, both married and unmarried, begin ascending through the Order. The Adelphinian Canonesses continue to assist morale in the war effort, continue to run the infirmaries, schools and university, and help with normal infrastructure as well as the building of the new hospital, learning the traditionally male arts somewhat. Meanwhile in the New World, Adelphinian Canonesses continue to follow the Knights Hospitaller in their interactions with the Seminole chiefs, including becoming teachers and nurses, and make important connections with children and women in each community. The Canoness-Consul for the Seminole area continues to work with the canonesses and the locals to put together a plan for the education of children in the area, using both local and Christian values. This idea travels through the Adelphinian Canonesses’ communication networks and arrives in Tondo. Tondoese canonesses take this fully into consideration and make a note to work with the locals as well on their school and university curriculums. Finally, another anchoress comes into Essen.
    • THEY'RE TAKING THE HABITS TO ISENGARD (gard-gard-gard-gard)
      • OOC Essen: Whoever this is, you're welcome. :')
    • Burgundian dip: the States General agrees to meet with Westphalian representatives.
  • Japan: Last year, we held the occupation of Borneo, expecting another French attack, but alas, none came. Recieving news that France entered war against Maghreb from the Papal Diocese in Nagasaki we launch an invasion of the French spice island of Buru with 500 ships and 20,000 troops from Borneo, leaving 30,000 troops in Borneo and 200 ships are sent from Japan to Borneo to defend our occupied lands. Centralization and rice production continue.

1614

In a quick campaign, the French defeat local garrisons in Java securing most of the island. Rather than a direct colonial government being established a proxy is established under a Javanese noble. Given wide rights acting as the French proxy he sees this as a ticket to building an empire and begins collaborating with the french as do many other Javanese nobles. They then direct their attention towards the Japanese.

In South Africa following over a century, it has become clear that elements of the former west african peoples has spurred the development of a kingdom. The Zulu kingdom containing clear elements of west african mannerisms and culture, has developed along the South African coast. It maintains a sophisticated culture and cities and with a population of nearly a million inhabitants it is prepared to expand all across the Southern Cape.

Leave the Kuzir stuff off, i have an event chain dealing with the rise of the Zulu kingdom. -Feud

Following some tacit prodding of collaborating natives in Peru, the French expand south along the Andes marshalling together a nearly 30,000 strong army of natives to fight for them. The Qulla confederation facing the French modern weapons and the numbers of the auxilaries practically melt away as the Viceroyalty marches south.

Priests and scholars accompanying the French conquests south notably provide information that the natives consider the French as their rightful rulers. Many have adopted Catholicism under French rule as many believe that the "Christian God must be real as the French came, and our numbers dwindled" referring to the massive disease which has ravaged the entire Andes region.

Hitler's Lombard lieutenant whips the French in Savoy, capturing Prince Charles, the head of the French force, forcing the French to withdraw from their African campaign and turn their attention to Italy.

Jesus, how many things could happen in France at once? Could any of these possibly be slimmed down or wait for a later turn? I was hoping to put in some events ~Nate

France is overdue for quite a bit. I guess they definitely could have been spaced out better -Feud

Still, why is everyone and their mother in South Asia?? Go harass some native americans or hindus and give this hemisphere a break -Nate

  • Rashidun Caliphate: Music and literature continue to be made. The mathmatitian Mahmud Al-Msr begins his career this year, developing a theory known OTL as calculus. The navy is improved and modernized, expanding the forces used in the Indian Ocean at the expense of the Mediterranean fleet. Al-Ruqqaya continues to work at solidifying the new union of Ziyadi and Sunni. In Oman, the local Emir Khalid Yaruba is elevated as Sultan and put on the throne in Muscat. The new Omani Sultanate signs the Treaty of Aden. Having done so, the Caliphate sends much financial support for the Yoduba dynasty to take control over both Oman's former military and navy, or as much as can be restored. The full 20,00 troops of Yaruba Oman is raised to crush the rebels in Jabal Shammar, along with 50,000 new troops from the Caliphate, while the original troops remain in Oman proper to keep order. Tactically, the generals of this campaign focus on driving the rebels away from the urban centers and into the bedoin regions of the empty quarter. The Ulema makes a proclomation, stating that the Rashidun will freely permit the Ibadi religion to continue as an enclave, as it has been tolerant of the Alawites and Druze in the past as well. As such, all thos who continue to support the Nabhani are not struggling in the way of religion as they claim, but just as a brood of lawless briggands. After defeating the rebels in Jabal Shammar, the Caliph makes it clear in another proclamation that the Nabhani Sultan clearly didn't care about the Arabian people, as he fled from the nation instead of maintaining order as the Yaruba does. The exiled Javanese nobles are accepted in Sumatra and married into the royal house.
    • Sultanate of Oman (Yaruba Dynasty): The Sultanate set up by the Rashidun raises their full military against the rebels in Jabal Shammar, and drives as many as possible from urban centers into the desert. The navy is fully acquired in Muscat, and starts to be deployed crush any remaining ships of the Nabhani and close off their access out of Madagasgar. No invasion of the Island is attempted yet. The other colonies of Oman in Somalia and Soccotra are retained in the Treaty of Aden. Ibadi Islam is freely practiced, and the government fully endorses the Caliph's proclomation that the Nabhani rebels are not for the good of religion or the nation, but lawless men. Indeed, the Yaruba stayed behind to maintain order and administrate the nation the Nabhani so recklessly abandoned. Swahili, Deccan, and Iran are called in to help crush the Nabhani rebels that remain in Arabia and Madagasgar.
    • Sultanate of Gujarat: Military and economy is imrpoved. Ships are sent to help establish the Yaruba dynasty over Oman
    • I Specifically said that Oman retained most of its remaining power. -Feud
    • That would not make any sense. I crushed Oman on every front and took the capital and all its urban centers. How could it possibly retain any power? -Nate
    • Rashidun dip (To France): in light of our long-standing alliance and continual peace established in the Treaty of Tunis (which is still in effect until 1624), the Rashidun offers its full political support for the Sultanate of Java, admiring the free-handed nature of France over the Muslim population, and declares its support in any attack they plan against the East Asians.
  • Knights Hospitaller: The Knights have a have a population of around 114,000 (Colonists and 0.25% growth) and have a navy of ten ships. In New Rhodes, there is a build up in our industry by offering grants for skilled colonists. Immigration slows down to 750 a year. Due to our small size our population can only provide 1130 soldiers though we make sure that they are highly trained. The knights thank Burgundy for financing our fort, though we cannot buy frigates at this point in time due to our financial status, though the knights are interested in purchasing them in the near future. The knights decide upon relocating the capital to Maryland soon. There is movement beginning among the people to secularize into a more efficient centralized state.
    • Maryland: The colony of Maryland is small with around 50,000 colonists and 5000 native converts. The star fort has been in progress for several years and significant progress has been made. The natives have been almost completely assimilated into our society after decades of conversion and education.
    • New Crete: It has a population of 4250, Andros Island is fully colonized though we halt expansion and consolidate.
    • Seminoles: Many Christian Seminole chiefs in the south of the tribal territories as well as Knight-allied chiefs agreed to be vassalized by the Knights. There is currently a population of roughly 17,750 people in this area, while we send a second wave consisting of 250 agricultural, mining, construction and industrial experts to improve the natives industry. The knights have posted 300 soldiers as well as military experts to defend the area, train the native's warriors in modern tactics, and patrolling their borders. They also begin building fortifications in the native settlements to prevent native raids, such as earthworks, palisades, watchtowers and ditches. There are teachers being sent to educate the natives, while there are doctors sent to set up hospitals to defend from virulent diseases. There are also agricultural, and technical experts sent to help improve the natives agriculture as well as teaching them how to mine and set up basic industry. There are talks of centralisation in the form of a council of chiefs which is gaining momentum. Due to our efforts mainly focusing at the tribal centre due to the difficulty of spreading influence all over our territories, there is a growth in the population of the villages, and soon they begin to resemble medium sized towns. Weapons are sent to the natives to give them an edge over their opponents while we tell our merchants to prioritise our vassals, Christian natives, and our allied tribes for trade rather then the other tribes giving our vassals an edge, which results in native auxiliaries being better armed, as well as the native towns becoming prosperous due to trade.
    • Neues Deutschland: We settle in OTL Alabama in OTL Mobile county with a population of 20,000 colonists who are majority German.
  • Deccan Sultanate: We declare war on France to aid our Muslim brothers of Maghreb and Java. We get 1600 ships and 100,000 soldiers to attack France. We ask Swahili, the Caliphate, and Iran to join us in the war against France.
    • Caliphate OOC: What from France are you attacking, exactly? Maybe just defend Java from French invasion
    • Indonesia is really to far for you to be worrying about -Feud
  • Saxony: Augustus of Saxe-Weissenfels thrid child of John George I is born, Farms of Dresden improved due to the roads. Farm's main growing are now hopps for the local bars in Dresden where massive noise can be heared day and night. University of Dresden is improved to increase education by adding two new rooms. Trading improves within the regions.
  • Cologne: Trade continues, as does the building of roads through Cologne and the HRE into Burgundy. This road system is just over a third of the way complete. Plans for the future of the region are discussed at the League of Westphalia meetings, with Archbishop Baldrich advocating for a peaceful process of secularisation within the HRE. However, he waits for the completion of the road system before implementing any secularisation or related endeavours and begins to prepare by distributing pamphlets advocating unity in the HRE-wide German Paper established at the Cologne Seminary. This comes off the back of continued serious disciplinary measures taken surrounding clergymen, and the implementation of the Holy German Tribunal to actively discourage all heresy.
    • Essen: Canonesses in outer Essen continue taking the habits to Isengard, and the new habits are transferred to all Adelphinian Canonesses in the Holy Roman Empire throughout this year. Meanwhile in Tondo, there are still significantly more Tondoese women in the Adelphinian Order, but a few married Tondoese men are particularly keen on becoming deacons. Given the platform for local-Christian collaboration developed in Seminole areas of the New World, Adelphinian Canonesses are inspired to also continue work on their plans for the education of the children of the area. Canonesses continue to run the schools, infirmaries, and university, and help to build the new hospital whilst learning traditionally male arts. One day, a Canoness comes back to the abbey particularly incensed about physick in the local areas, and begins to put together a comprehensive text on Tondoese traditional medicine. Meanwhile in the New World, Canonesses continue making important connections with the Seminole people, especially in communities. The education plan continues to develop. Back home in Essen, the anchoress begins to whisper tales of connecting with the spiritual realm and those in Heaven, and Abbess-General Isengard is unsure whether to call this heresy, so she sends Canoness Helga to watch closely.
  • Aryavarta: Seeing a rise in the instability in the region of the Bay of Bengal the navy is dispatched to patrol the coast. The naval modernisation programme is almost complete. The navy consists of 20 galleon ships with 50 cannons, 40 carracks, 100 frigates and 40 light attack craft. All of these are built according to Burgundian and English naval designs and technology. Many of these were directly procured from England. They have strong sails and naval artillery. With the loss of the previous naval school, a new naval school is created in Hemgarh (OTL Haldia).
  • Shahdom of Iran: The military sends in 10,000 more troops into Qatar. Ottoman style public baths open up, and the aqueduct system improves. Sewer system improves, with toilets being readily available to the wealthier of the populace. Heavy cavalry gets lighter, being armed with hand guns and their armor starting to lighten up. The Rahimi sect of Islam, fusing the religion of Islam, and the philosophy of Zoroastrianism continues to spread, converting more people, with multiple people who wield significant power embracing it.
    • Qatar: Iranian infrastructural plans are implemented, and arabic titles such as Emir are respected and kept.
    • Bahrain: The same occurring as Qatar.
    • Ormzud: The same as above.
    • Sindh: Nothing of note.
    • Banten: Nothing of note.
    • Oman Diplomacy: Oman offers to cede Bahrain, Qatar, and Musandam to Iran in exchange for peace and a non-aggression pact.
  • Venice: Proceeds with the invasion of the Hitlerite States in Northern Italy, Lombardy and Florence, to take down Hitler's lieutenants and stop this heresy once and for all with 25.000 troops under the command of general Giovanni Contarini that says "DEUS VULT" to his troops initiating the campaign. Our navy consisting of 800 warships is send to river Po to harass the enemy troops and assist our armies under the command of admiral Dominico Contarini. Pope is requested to join the invasion as agreed. We also ask our guarantor and benefactor Bulgaria to assist us in this war. (More to come)
  • Pontus: We develop the ports of Tskhumi, Batumi and Trebizond, in order to sell gold, silver and iron. We continue trade with italy, while our army returns home to Pontus.
  • United Bulgarian Tsardom: The Empire continues to push forward with the centralization effort under Tsar Vasili who more or less has successfully marginalized the nobility into subservience. The Royal Quarter in Vasiligrad continues to be built with more and more noble residencies being finished every few weeks. The Architectual style seems to be unique in this regard with tradition with elaborate and highly styled buildings coming into play as more and more houses and residencies are built. The Freemen District also goes up rather quickly as it becomes one of the first districts to exist almost in its entirety outside the cities walls. This spurs an exodus from the overcrowded areas of the city into locations near the Freeman District which increases to nearly 100,000 people as many of the homeless or overcrowding is pushed off into the cities new outside district. The Cities population stands at 500,000. The Imperial legions continue to be de-segregated as a more sophisticated marshalling system is put into place, able to more effectively extract manpower from the provinces. The Empire continues propogation of the new Jugoslavic "Belkan" language. The concept of Belka also continues to gain ground as the common identity surrounding the expulsion of the turks and infidels from the balkans rests solely on the Vlach hero Vasili The Great also known as the Impaler or the Turk Slayer. He is a noticeable folk hero for much of the balkans populations with Serbians, Vlachs, Moldavians, Bulgarians, and even a number of Greeks and Albanians seeing him as not just a conqueror but a liberator of the Balkans. His work has effectively made a united Balkan state a reality as well as an acheiveable dream for the nobility which shows great support for the concept. "Belkan" as it has become known, has more or less taken firm hold in the empire much to the chagrin of the more purist bulgar nobles which have rejected the reforms. However with no manpower to draw on and the Tsar effectively removing their noble powers in all but name these angry nobles can only complain rather than take any action. While some dissent exists in the bulgar circles, the Serbians are the exact opposite. They have literally thrown themselves into the empire with the Serbian Gusars having proven their worth in the civil war, they are designated the Elite units of the empire. The "Belkan Gusars" as they are known are made up of the elite Serbians who are now the instructors as the unit accepts veteran troops from all over the empire. Every legion is fielded with a Gusar unit, which has been reformed from its traditional light cavalry role into an elite unit that can fight as heavy foot infantry or light cavalry depending on the needs of the battle. The population breaches 9 million once again now having fully recovered from the Civil war population wise. Noticeably however the Serbian population has outpaced the Bulgarian population in growth consisting of over half as mixed race Serbo-Bulgars and proper Serbians begin to more densely occupy the habitable serbian lands. with lands around Nis, Sarajevo, and Belgrad all seeing noticeable population increases.
  • Archduchy of Austria: Military and economy is improving in Austria. With the bigger threats coming from the north Austria will keep the North HRE states safe from the enemies. Military recruits more men and builds fortifications for a self defense, while population is growing slightly in Vienna. Efforts are made to establish out own bloc in the HRE, such as contracting the Northern Defensive alliance and trying to befriend them in order to make sure that neither Burgundy nor Prussia would take over in the area. Austria annexes Bavaria to have more central authority on its nation and plans to take South Germany.
    • Venetian Dip: We ask the Archuduchy of Austria to settle out borders, to give us Trentino (roughly the Italian majority populated area in Southern South Tyrol) and in exchange we shall give them a considerable ammount of money and grant them loans. We also propose a trade agreement between our great nations. We also request Austria to assist us cleanse the remants of the evil Hitlerites in Northern Italy, as any help would be appreciated.
    • Austrian Dip: We agree to settle out borders and give Trentino to Venice. We also accept the trade agreement and assist 10,000 troops to Venice to help cleansing the remants of the evil Hitlerites.
    • Thuringian Dip: We would joing if such a bloc would be established as Thuringia sees Prussia and Burgundy as a threat to its existance.
    • English dip: We would like to improve trading relations with Austria.
    • Austrian Dip: We accept the trading relations with England.
  • Thuringia: We improve the military in Erfurt that grown to 7,500 troops in the garrison. Jena has now 2,500. and 1,000 is in the rest of the country later to be followed 4,000 at the borders. Order of Saint Michaels is now officially in the military as Duke Maurice the Learned allows them to. Roads improve in Erfurt and also agriculture. Economy is also improving.
  • Prussia: Emperor Otto agrees to meet with the League of Westfalen. He also continues his centralization policies by consolidating the nobility without lands into loyal officers, while he appoints loyal administrators to towns, and estates to handle the taxation, and levies. Otto extends an invitation to the Archduke of Austria to come to Berlin to attend matters of the state and to discuss the future of relations between Berlin and Vienna. Military expansion and reforms begin to better adjust to the growing changes in the hre and to show the rest of the German States that Prussia is still the emperor and the ultimate authority over imperial matters, he issues a promise to not interfere in the internal affairs of German states aslong as they respect imperial authority, In private Otto requests that Cologne send a representative in secret to begin the process of expanding Cologne's power in the Rhineland while consolidating the imperial bloc of Which Cologne forms a key part.  Arts and sciences continue to flourish as the roboust Prussian economy and academics continue to support a very open and progressive stance towards them given the House of Brandenburg's generous sponsership of talented individuals. Integration of the Hansa into Prussia's economy continues with Hamburg becoming the major centre of Finance for the entire realm. Expansion of agricultural acitivities and mining continue. training of the Royal Guard as Dragoons continues, it's numbers swell to 4,000. Efforts to expand infrustructure also continue. The North Atlantic Company ( hansa company) requests to purchase the rights to settle and manage Burgundian Brasilland.
    • Bohemia: Otto continues to allow the Bohemian lords a certain level of autonomy as he consolidates the loyalty of key members of the nobility, expansion of mining and trade begins, with the economy finally starting to show signs of recovery from the devasting war with Bulgaria. More Germans settle in Prag and along the border regions. Thge University of Prag is quickly filling uyp with German students, and teachers, while the Prussian Dialect of German becomes increasingly used by the nobles and merchants.
  • Kingdom of England and Ireland:  In England taxes continued to be raised with Parliament again approving the same taxes it did last year. Farage land is expanded 20px and Borisville grows more populous as more settlers migrate there. The population is at 4.3 million in England and 1.2 million in Ireland. Construction of a new London theatre continues. In response Le Damm de Pom visions of corruption and judgement day intrigue some English and more top quality peng Yorkshire Apple sauce is sent to this visionary of apocalyptic destruction. This is the first interest England has shown in Hitler and the apocalypses. Trading relations are improved with German states such as those in the League of Westphalia and Austria.
  • Papal States: The Pope reiterates his sincerest apologies to the Caliph, going sofar as to send a personally handwritten letter, which also reiterates the request for a formal Papal-Caliphate treaty which would formalise relations in the Holy Land, as well as the agreement regarding the New World. The letter also praises the Caliph for hs moves to suppress slavery. The Conservative Angelicum faction is somewhat split by the Pope's decision: the more hardliners think that the attack on the infidels in the New World should go ahead, however the more moderate wing reluctantly agree that consistent access to -and preferential treatment in- the Holy Land is worth the price of a small Moselem outpost in the extremeties of the New World. The Papal Army joins Venice in the invasion of the Hitlerite Successor States, with the bulk of the Papal forces moving to join the Venetians in the field. Missions continue around the place, in Giapan, Korea, China, the New World, and Southern Africa. In Giapan, the new Diocese of Kyoto is officially erected in a ceremony with the country's bishops and prominent Catholic laypeople. In Peru, the Imaculata Order works extensively in the Andes region to consolidate the faith there. And in Southern Africa, the Missionaries make contact with the new  Zulu Kingdom
  • Kingdom of Oman (Arabia): The war in defense of Oman continues. Omanis have taken to calling the new Caliphate vassal the "Masqat Sultanate", after its capital city. This title carries historical connotations of a time when Oman was divided, and Muscat and Oman were separate entities. Well-defended by the Al Hajar Mountains and situated in a commanding position on the border of the Masqat Sultanate, the cities of Bahla and Nizwa serve as a refuge to loyal Omanis in the interior, and a center for Omani raids on Masqat. Significant military gains are achieved this year. The city of Al-Hofuf is captured by Mubashshir al-Obeid's army, but at the expense of Riyadh, which has fallen to the Caliphate. Al-Obeid campaigns against the Rashidun in the north (near Kuwait) as well, but he is less successful there. In eastern Oman, Ibadis begin a major push against the Rashidun-held Yemeni borderlands, recapturing their lost territory and making a historic crossing of the Empty Quarter into southern Arabia, where they capture ground from Yemen and incite the Ibadis living there to revolt against the Caliphate. The territory of the Ibadi rebels includes much of the "Mahra" coast of southern Arabia, as well as the outskirts of the Rub' al Khali and several villages in central-east Yemen. The Ibadis avoid meeting the Rashidun forces in open battle, instead retreating to the hills when necessary, to strike again later. Skirmishes erupt between Omani and Masqati-Rashidun forces near Sohar and again at Al Ain, which is captured by Oman, splitting the Masqat Sultanate between east and west (between Muscat region and present-day UAE). This event also spurs a revolt within Sohar, and the Masqati garrison is expelled from the city. Regarding territorial losses, Bahrain, Qatar, and Musandam are lost to the Persians, albeit with much resistance, and much of Omani Nejd is lost to the Caliphate after a decisive battle. The regular army in Arabia numbers ~2,500, mostly concentrated around Sohar and Al Ain, with some in South Arabia. The army of Mubashshir al-Obeid numbers ~5,000. There are also countless other guerrillas for which no estimate can be given.
    • Omani Al-Qamar: King Taamir accepts the Burgundian offer of support, and enacts a naval reform in Madagascar to bolster the Omani navy with the assistance of Burgundian naval advisors and an improved shipbuilding industry. The Omani navy begins to recover from its recent defeat at Hormuz, with 15 new ships entering construction and thorough repairs made to the rest of the navy. By July, the Royal Army in Al-Qamar numbers 14,600, including three mercenary regiments, one guard regiment, and two battalions of irregulars. A trade embargo is also issued against the Rashidun Caliphate in order to restrict their supplies.
    • (Secret) Burgundian dip: The Burgundian East India Company offers the Free Omani government the services of its privateers against Caliphate shipping, and shipbuilding contracts to bolster the Free Omani Navy.
    • (Secret) Oman Diplomacy: Oman readily accepts the Burgundian offer, and gives their thanks.
  • Kingdom of Burgundy: Having reached Lake Maara (otl Lake Maracaibo) Guyana expands east 50px. The Cape Charles colony, Avelskamp, and Nova Belgica expand by 50px each. New Netherlands expands 50px up the Wacht River (otl Hudson River). The Hanseatic North Atlantic Company is sold the rights to settle and manage Brasilland. Meanwhile, around Robertstad, Guyanas capital, gold deposits are found. Outside of the miners, the West India Company, and the government, few are made aware of the discovery, and the new gold provides a much appreciated boost to Burgundys treasury. In light of France's multitude of military engagements around the globe, Burgundy offers France the opportunity to sell the spice islands to Burgundy for a suitable sum to finance their war efforts. If the Spice Islands offer is not accepted, a similar deal is offered for Brittany (mod response pls). With a deal reached with the Free Omani government, the East India Company begins unleashing privateers of Caliphate shipping. They're sure to only fly Omani colors, and the goods onboard are marked with Arab and Indian markings so the Company cannot be directly linked to the privateering. Once more, a new line of frigates, officially for the Company's defense fleets, are quietly transferred to the Free Omani Navy to help them combat the Caliphate.
    • France says no thanks. -scraw
  • African Sultanate of the Maghreb:  Sultan Hamish Al Farrok takes power begins to work on modernizing the army by requesting men from 17-36 to train in the army, as the navy is improved on to defend trading ships.Urban centers begin to grow as trading centers and means of living begin to spread mostly in cities on the coast. We send Muslims missionaries to Angola. Coastal cities are made into a hub of trading to help rise the pop. The Navy is worked on as Rabat is made a center of naval action, as Rabat is where most sailors are trained making a Rabat Naval school, that holds harsh rules), A Enovoy of 500 adviors are sent to Mali to train troops in hope of winning over Mali to see favoroable view on us. The Sultanate begin to work on mass producing Arms and begin to copy European way of growing food.We send a trade envoys, along with sending Imams to spread Islam in West Africa and to South Africa mostly in Benin to win them over. With the spread of Islam in Afrivca we send imams to help convert them faster, as we send some of there high imams to Rabat to study about Islam. We begin to work on creating roads to ease trade routes. The Sultanate begin to expand into the Atlantic coast line by 15px. Some of teh Haush land is given to Tajamidan people to rule these areas are called "Forts".Nurullah begins his trade with the Ona giving them more weaponry, with a victory more Forts are made. OUr ships begin to train on how to sail the rocky seas to reach the Pacific Ocean. Nurallah right hand man Ali ibn Bakr is rumored to want Nurallah dead but Nurllah ignores the claims, Ali Bakr secretly give small pox covered items to the Ona people killing them. Due to the way of the New World women are given more physically as in helping create the wall or guarding areas. The port (not the best or biggest) of Tajammad is re made along with ocean defense walls and gun ports made along with 50 cannons. The population stands at 4,420 people with a slow rise in pop.
  • Japan: The war against France continues, last year we saw success against the French spice island in Buru in the first two battles and thus we continue our invasion of Buru this year, hoping to conquer Buru as we did Borneo by wiping out the entire colonial garrison. Meanwhile Borneo remains to be fortified with 30,000 troops and 200 ships as we remain on the defensive. A war time economic policy is implemented in the home island of Japan as rice production and population continues to grow. The valuable French spice island of Buru is conquered after 2 battles this year, 4 battles in total. After having won multiple battles against France and her protectorates while not losing one battle & conquering Borneo and Buru morale surges and the Buru Guard fortifies on the defensive awaiting a French counterattack.

Following a year of centralizing authority on the island of Java, the French expand their influence bringing the Javanese navy into play. 40,000 Javanese soldiers and nearly 275 warships adding onto the existing french forces. They immediately split into two armies and engage the Japanese and Tondo forces in the Spice islands and Borneo.

Is France or Java the main attacker here? This is important for the algo -Kame.

In South Africa, the Zulu Kingdom rapidly expands along the coast integrating more territory as new villages and cities begin to be established. The warrior culture of the Zulu people seems to extend deep into its civilian culture, creating a highly disciplined culture heavily centered on supporting the Zulu armies. Kuzir Islam is adopted by parts of the nobility for the use of justifying the centralization of the nation.

The more centralized Mapuche kingdom just south of the larger Andes states begins accepting thousands of refugees from the north. Needing a place to house the nearly 300,000 refugees the Mapuche allow Aymara peoples to settle further south claiming territory for the small Mapuche kingdom and expanding its borders.

The privateering of Caliphate shipping along the Indian ocean and Indonesian trade routes frustrates and dumbfounds the Rashidun admirals, who are failing to see how the beaten Omani's can so widely and effectively raid the Caliphate shipping. Some sneaking suspicions of outside help are suspected but as of yet cant be proven.

The adoption of terrace farming by eccentric farmers or buisinessment in various parts of Europe has led to a more far reaching adoption of New World crops. The terrace farming method has rumored to have been pioneered by the so called "savages" of the new world.

The French and Hitlerites make a peace accord in order to facilitate the return of the king's brother. Savoy is made a loosely autonomous vassal of France to be governed by the Hitlerite. This agreement is only accepted because the Hitlerites are very tired of war in Savoy.

When the Rajah of Ceylon dies, a civil war breaks out between two rival branches of the family, from the noble houses in Jaffna and Colombo. Both of these factions, however, are warey of European influence and don't ask Burgundy for support. Instead, a third faction rebelliong from the weaker Kingdom of Kandy upholds the protection of Burgundy and asks for their assistance to crush the other two parties in the civil war.

  • Russia: We continue expansion in Siberia at 40px. More rumors of a large lake circulate. The purge ends.
  • Aryavarta: According to the plan, each city is subdivided into blocks. The consruction of toilets in every building in the cities is compulsory. The municipal corporations are to provide public baths, public toilets and other civic amenities. Each of the four quadrants of a city must have a hospital. A new city is developed in Punjab on the banks of the Chenab, near Multan, Pratap Nagar. Pratap Nagar will be the new capital of Punjab. Pushkalavati expands. The council decides to invest heavily in the forification of cities. Frontier posts are established. The heavy fortification of Burhanpur begins. It is expected to be completed in 2 years. Construction of small fortresses on the Satpura range begins. Wheat production surges in Punjab. Cities continue to expand. The University of Patliputra is located on the outskirts. A telescope is developed in the University of Ujjain. As tribals start settling in the cities, more area opens up for cultivation, many landless framers (tenants) are given land rights in these areas. The council decides to abolish Begar and other forms of free labor extracted by the landlords from the tenants. Rent collection is now regulated by state officials.
  • Archduchy of Austria: The economy and military improves. The buildings and towns continue to build and population growing up sees military recruiting more men in the army. With more central authority needed Austria decides to annex Bavaria and Salzburg. Austria joins the agreement with Prussia and Burgundy and sends Archduke to Berlin for discussion relations with Berlin and Vienna.
  • Rashidun Caliphate: The Caliph writes back to the Pope, agreeing there should be more Papal-Caliph cooporation in the future, particularly related to the A'rd Al-Qudds (Holy Land), and political ties in general. Although the Caliph sends to the Pope gifts of gold and oil paintings to show his gratitude, he gives no more detail about this future agreement. Throughout Al-Ruqqaya's reign, he worked day and night to ensure a smooth merge between the Sunni and Ziyadi faction of Islam, using every once of energy to convince, bribe, and intimidate the members of the Ulema to accept the comprimises set forth in the Grand Council of Basra. This year, however, Ruqqaya fell sick. Knowing his mortality years in advance, the Caliph had forsaken the bed of all four of his wives, ensuring there was no way the Ulema could force a heretitary succession. He died in the arms of his first wife, and all the Caliphate proclaimed him a great scholar as well as leader. After much debate towards his successor, the Ulema eventually voted by a slim majority to nominate Ahmed Al-Din Ajead, the leader of the Ziyadi sect, as the Caliph of Islam. Caliph Ajead traveled from Iran to Damascus to accept this nomination. As soon as he became Caliph, Ajead addressed the situation in Oman: "As the wisdom of the Rashidun has been restored after 1000 years, it is now our duty to restore the days where all Arabians parcipated in the faith". As such, the new Caliph establishes lucrative alliances with many of the Bedoin tribes of the Arabian desert, in the hopes of raising a desert-dwelling force to crush the Nabhani forces in the Empty Quarter. Tribal emnenties between the two culture are used to this effect. A total force of 9,000 troops are sent, not to engage in battle, but simply pass from city to city around Yemen and western Oman, knowing the unconventional forces of the Nabhani would flee the cities and retreat back to the desert rather than engage combat. It is estimated by the Shay Al-Nass (secular administration) that the unconventional forces of the Nabhani numbers to 40,000 spread across the desert, not counting the regular forces they manage to support after three years with no government. A total force of 80,000 troops from the Rashidun and the Yaroba once again invade the eastern hills of Arabia, and after beating the total 7,500 regular forces of the Nabhani in a decisive battle, the army besieges the Fortress of Bahla. Bahla falls after much difficulty and several cannons lost. A siege camp is set to the city of Nizwa, where the remaining regular forces of Nabhani reside, but a battle has not commenced. An additional 5,000 troops are stationed in Nejd to hold the new territory from the Nabhani. Meanwhile, a great invading force of 195,000 troops and 300 ships are sent to capture the rebel capital of Vohemar, led by the ever loyal Admiral Al-Nasser. A crushing victory captures the city, and an occupation of northern Al-Qamar proceeds. As many Nabhani as possible are captured from the city, most importantly King Taamir, and are executed for treason, but the soldiers remain prisoners. These forces march across the island and attack the ctiy of Mahajanga, with support of the same navy. The Qamarid (Omani) pirates become a particular thorn against the trade in the Arab-Indian company, causing the Ulema to consider hiring privateers.
    • Rashidun Dip to Nabhani rebels: Not wanting to destroy the rebel forces under siege, the Caliph offers a deal with the Obaid, to allow all his followers to exist as a free and autonomous enclave within selected villages of Arabia, if he ends the fighting. In Al-Qamar, Nasser spares some members of the Nabhani family he finds, and relays a message from the Caliph: he will allow them to return to Oman and regain their full nobel office as before, as well as marry into the Yaroba dynasty, if they only end the rebellion.
    • Yaroba dynasty of Oman (Masqat): Law and order continues to be established across Muscat and Oman, in spite of the countless unconventional attacks by the Nabhani. The proclomations of the government work to highlight the deaths of civilians caused by these attacks, the perpetrators being labeled "Al-Mukhufu" (Terrorists), in the hopes of winning the hearts of the Ibadi people away from the more irreligious Nabhani supporters. Urbanization is built up in Muscat region, as well as the northern Oman region. Forces are sent again to help the Caliphate crush the rebellion in their respective nations.
    • Rashidun Dip to France-Java: We give much financial and moral support for their war to liberate Indonesia from East Asian influence, as well as sending 90 ships with 2,500 men. Thus says an embassy of eminent scholars sent to Jakarta and Paris. While in France, the scholars enquire if the French would help identify the foreign technology seemingly used by Omani pirates in their recent raids against the Caliphate.
  • Knights Hospitaller: The Knights have a have a population of around 115,000 (Colonists and 0.25% growth) and have a navy of ten ships, though these ships are aging and becoming obselete. In New Rhodes, there is a build up in our industry by offering grants for skilled colonists. Immigration slows down to 750 a year. Due to our small size our population can only provide 1150 soldiers though we make sure that they are highly trained. Due to call for a centralised state, the knights agree that the state must be made more centralised and so we plan on a future government with a parliament system drawing inspiration from the English, as well as a charter stating the laws of the land and the responsibilities of the government. However, the knights deem a monarchy unfeasible for a moment until the reforms take place. There is movement beginning among the people to secularize into a more efficient centralized state. In order to boost commerce we ask for a trade agreement with England, and Iberia (Player/Mod response). There are stories of magnificent civilisations and wealth in Peru, as well as agricultural advances and so we send a group of experts to gain knowledge of the area, and the knights also have an interest in the terrace farming system.
    • Maryland: The colony of Maryland is small with around 52,500 colonists and 5000 native converts.
100 missionaries are sent to base themselves in the area so they can convert the populace as well as being able to travel deeer into the tribal lands.
    • Neues Deutschland: We settle in OTL Alabama in OTL Mobile county with a population of 22,250 colonists who are majority German.
    • Iberia agrees. -scraw
  • Iran: The Zoroastrians, seeing around 15% of their population converting to the Rahimi sect of Islam, due to its fusing of Zoroastrian elements into Islam, decide to make a change. They are uniting under a convert leader, who has decided to evangalise the religion. In the countryside, they secretly begin missionary activities. The Shah attempts to encourage them to convert to the Rahimi sect, but most seem to favor reforming their religion.
    • Sindh: Nothing of note, other than Iranization.
    • Banten: Nothing of note, other than Iranization.
We begin preparing our navy and army for war as our economy and military has gained great improvements from the previous war and cooperation with the Caliphate and Iran.
    • Rashidun dip: The Ulema asks that you send your great new army to help subjugate Qamar, as Swahili borders it by land
  • Kingdom of Burgundy: Guyana expands 50px to the east. Cape Charles, Avelskamp, and Nova Belgica expand by 50px each. New Netherlands expands 50px up the Wacht River (otl Hudson River). In Guyana, gold extraction continues, increasing the economic output of the colony, even if the discovery isn't widely known yet. Immigration to the colonies, with a heavy interest on Kuba, New Netherlands, and Guyana, is financed by the Companies. Cape Charles sees its own population boom, thank to its reputation as the end of the civilized world, and thus an attraction to adventure and glory seekers as well as the traders drawn to its nodal position. In light of the outbreak of another civil war in Ceylon, the Ceylonese Colonial Guard is dispatched, and meets the Kottan Army as they moved north to fight Jaffna. Vastly outnumbering their opponents the army of Kotte is swiftly crushed, after which the Guard move north and clash with Jaffna army as they tried to march on Kolon Thota, and they too are quickly defeated. With opposition crushed on the island, the East India Company reasserts itself. The victory allows the Company a mandate to purge disloyal or overly ambitious nobles, after which their lands are confiscated by the Company, who appoints only their own people or confirmed supporters of the Burgundian backed regime as governors. Authority on the island is now concentrated in the Company Field Directors, acting through the new King of Ceylon. The Royal Bodyguard, which comprised most of the Kottan and Jaffnan armies, is reduced to three thousand soldiers. The war also confirmed the Company practice of raising the Colonial Guard as a separate warrior class, as their ranks suffered few defections. The Field Directors decide to expand on the practice, both in Ceylon, and in Malaya. While the privateering against the Caliphate was only mildly affected as resources were diverted to the Ceylonese campaign, the Company is pleased with the results so far. The disinformation side of the campaign is stepped up. In the Company's offices, forged letters of marque from the Deccan, Iran, France and others are made, and many ships are outfitted with a mismatch of Asian and European equipment, including genuine Burgundian materials, to stifle attempts to pinpoint a source of the privateering. By the end of the year, however, seeing the growing French presence in Asia, the privateers begin refocusing their efforts on French traffic as their primary target. Although new ships continue to be built for the Free Omani Navy. Burgundian missionaries venture out with Papal representatives to the Zulu kingdom, attempting to use Burgundys long presence in the region to help convert them.
  • Kingdom of England and Ireland:  In England taxes continued to be raised with Parliament again approving the same taxes it did last year. Farage land is expanded 20px and Borisville grows more populous as more settlers migrate there. The first gold is found in Farage Land and it is extracted. News of this is leaked to London and this encourages settlement there.
  • Papal States: The war against Hitler's successors in Lombardy continues with Venice's help. The Pope receives the letter from the Caliph, and sets up a small group of diplomats to draft a proposal for a Papal-Caliphate agreement. Meanwhile, in Southern Africa, Immaculata missionaries make contact with the Zulu Kingdom and suggest Catholicism as an alternative nation-building faith. It has the added advantage, they point out, of not being tied to the states to the North, and of being the faith of the mighty Europeans, who like helping out their fellow Christians. The Missions continue in Southern Africa, the New World, Japan, Korea, and China.
  • Kingdom of Oman: With the fall of the capital and the Nabhani dynasty having been forcefully removed from power, the Omani government finally capitulates. This, however, does not bring an end to the conflict. Omanis in Arabia and Al-Qamar make every use of the terrain to impede the Caliphate's progress and harass their forces. The 9,000-strong Rashidun tribal army, upon entering Omani cities and towns, are refused food and shelter by the inhabitants, quickly leading to violence and acts of brutality by the invaders. A full-blown skirmish occurs in one village, resulting in the deaths of dozens of Omanis and Arabs. The tribal army is eventually forced into the desert. Despite the Caliphate's victories in Arabia, the Omanis continue to regain their lost ground, popping up wherever there is a lack of a sizable army. The Rashidun forces, faced with the impossible task of defending the whole of Arabia, are becoming exhausted after three years of campaigning in the harsh terrain of Oman. As of 1615, the rebels hold most of the Omani interior, as well as Qatif, Al-Hasa, Sohar, Al Ain, and much of Southern Arabia. Al-Qamar, on the other hand, has become somewhat pacified.
  • Japan: This year, French Java launches the reconquests of Borneo and Buru and we engage their forces while our forces fortify and fight the French Javaese forces on the defensive.

1616

In Marseille, a charismatic and ardent anti-Hitlerite priest insights a mob to destroy 4,000 lb worth of top quality peng (c) Yorkshire Apple Sauce, seeing it as gateway to the devilish words of Le Dam de Pomm

After another expansive campaign the Zulu kingdom expands furthers along the coast completely surrounding the Burgundian Cape colony. Diplomats enter the Colony with Sipho Zulu meeting the settlers of the Cape colony. Sipho Zulu (Age 20 and GL) demands that the Burgundians limit their activity on the cape and in a show of force brings his main army of nearly 50,000 making his point clear. "You Expand, You Die".

The Burgundian royal representative scoffing at the idea of an African empire making demands of Burgundy, much less one recently in contact with the Europeans, requests the Burgundian royal government send a Punitive expedition against the Zulus.

The swiftness of the French acquisition and usage of Java is surprising and is considered a fluke as the French expedition in Peru is stopped dead cold with the remaining forces of the Qulla confederation forcing the French back north.

  • Maiam: Nativist and Loyalist conflicts quiet. Nativist and Loyalist conflicts continue in the farther regions of Maian territory, but the core territory of the Yucatan peninsula remains relatively free of conflict.
The Navy is worked on as Rabat is made a center of naval action, as Rabat is where most sailors are trained making a Rabat Naval school, that holds harsh rules). The Sultanate begin to work on mass producing Arms and begin to copy European way of growing food.We send a trade envoys, along with sending Imams to spread Islam in West Africa and to South Africa mostly in Benin to win them over. With the spread of Islam in Africa we send imams to help convert them faster, as we send some of there high imams to Rabat to study about Islam. We begin to work on creating roads to ease trade routes. The Sultanate begin to expand into the Atlantic coast line by 15px. The city Algiers is made the capital of the Sultanate as its population grows,The 2nd biggest city is Rabat as Naval troops being to start families in the area. The Sultan begins to works on cities by opening markets and trading centers mostly at Algiers. The spread of Islam in Zaire is less about shoving it down people belief but more of gaining trust of people by giving out food and things like that, after gaining trust of people we begin to spread Islam into Ziyi (Kongo).Ali al Baba is ordered to work to make more improved ships to reach the new world, a prototype is made on paper .Our ships are sent to trade with Zaire,Mali, and tiny west African states.
A mosque is made. trade with the Ona people by selling them Caliphate Swords and Bows and new Arms. Some of the Haush land is given to Tajamidan people to rule these areas are called "Forts".New World food is sent back home to be traded. Ali Bakr begins his trade with the Ona giving them more weaponry, with a victory more Forts are made. Nurllah is killed in a hunting "Accident" and Ali ibn Bakr is picked as Emir,Ali Bakr secretly give small pox covered items to the Ona people killing them. Our ships begin to train on how to sail the rocky seas to reach the Pacific Ocean. Due to the way of the New World women are given more physically as in helping create the wall or guarding areas. The port (not the best or biggest) of Tajammad is re made along with ocean defense walls and gun ports made along with 50 cannons. The population stands at 4,520 people with a slow rise in pop.
  • Rashidun Caliphate: The Caliph Ahmed Ajead continues to administrate over the ever-expanding logistics of the Caliphate. The population is estimated at 55 million, mostly consisting of Arabic Muslims, but also with sizable minorities of Christian Arabs, Amharic, Persians, and many smaller entities such as the Jews and Druze. Recognizing this great diversity, the Ulema works to expand the public involvement in the government, mostly by expanding the power of the Shay Al-Nass to administrate over local secular matters. Urbanization increases in East Africa, pushing the boundaries into the Fezzen. In Alexandria, a work of mathematical genius is published that outlines the work of OTL Calculus. In Arabia, the Ulema accepts the Nabhani surrender, and true to their word, brings the remaining males of the dynasty back to administrate over the Kingdom of Oman. The beadoin force raised last year establishes a truce with the Mukhuf (former Nabhani rebels) in Al-Hasa, allowing the more extreme Ibadi tribes to exist autonomously in the desert. All the regular forces of the Caliphate are pulled back from this front, and instead local city authorities are expected to deal with local violence individually. Those that were caught instigating the volent skirmish are executed for murder. The swift and mass executions conducted towards the end of this war sparks contoversy across Syria and Mesopotamia, and and so the Ulema begin working at a reform of the legal system. This involves adopting trial by a jury of peers, consisting of ten impartial men before the judge. Although the rebel general Obeid died fighting in the Siege of Bahla, his incredible bravery and tactical brilliance lives on in poems and novels across the Caliphate. In Indonesia, an expedition of 6,000 troops on 60 ships led by Al-Nasser joins the troops already stationed in Sumatra, and closes in to solidify Aceh as a Rashidun protectorate. There is little resistance, as it is obvious from the natives that they would prefer being under the protection of Islam.
    • Kingdom of Masqat: All the colonies of Oman are subsumed by the kingdom, which now has full access to the military and navy Oman had, baring several missing ships believed to have defected as pirates. Al-Qamar is largely passified as the Nabhani ruler accepts the treaty of Aden. Those who continue to instigate violence in Arabia are driven from cities where possible. As Khalid Yaroba has no sons, his daughters marry to the sons of the Nabhani family. The resulting personal union, under the Nabhani-Yaroba dynasty, is now known as "the Kingdom of Masqat and Oman" (which General now plays)
  • Archduchy of Austria: Austria continues to improve its economy incomes and taxes, while the modernization in the military continues with more men being recruited and trained. While helping Venice in assist to defeat the Hitlerites Austria aims to improve its relations and benefit trades in the coming years. With Archduke being invited to come to Berlin for agreement Austria hopes that Prussia improves relations. More roads are built to connect various cities in Austria and other buildings as well.
