*'''Sicily:''' We continue to fortify and integrate the newly acquired territory into the nation, including Naples and other cities. Taking note of the congress in Paris, the government is angered that Britain demands "Italian states...be aligned under the Papal States," and that the congress appears to not respect Sicily's borders. '''The king asks that a Sicilian delegation be allowed to attend the conference''', or at the very least those terms be reworded or removed.

The Ming Dynasty still rules over the vast lands of China. On the other side of the world, the Hundred Years War continues between England and France. Europe is still stuck in the old ways of feudalism and chivalry while the notions of a New World are considered figments of imagination.

We welcome you to the long-awaited fourth expansion of that immortal series. Welcome to Principia Moderni IV! Starting in 1400 AD, this is the dawn of the modern world and the tail end of the Middle Ages. The Renaissance is just kicking off in Europe, while the nations in the western side of the continent are locked in the last gasp of the Hundred Years War. The Muslim world is still reeling from the invasions of Turks and Mongols, with the Caliphate resting in the collapsing Mamluk Egypt and the Ottomans on the rise in Anatolia. Make it count.

The first game was the most successful on the wiki, leading all the way to the modern day with mostly plausible posts and little controversy. The second game reached almost to the modern day, but failed due to a plethora of ASB events and moderator bias. The third game was much more worthy of the first, almost running into implausibility but climbing back into a shining glory by the end. Riding on the latest reforms of map games since the end of PMIII, this is the most logical next step in that evolution. Remember, above all other rules, — have fun.

Plausibility Strikes

Three strikes and you're out! Each strike resets after 30 years of the most recent strike.

Moderator Strikes

These are strikes for moderators and how they moderate. The same three strikes rules apply. If a moderator is banned from moderating, however, they can still play as their nation. Mod strikes can be delivered in one of three ways:

  1. If a sufficient number of players (more than half of all players voting) vote to give a moderator a strike.
  2. If I, Scraw, give them a strike.
  3. If a majority of all mods (i.e., more than half of the total number of mods, excluding that moderator) vote to give a moderator a strike.

Moderators can be given strikes for the following reasons:

  1. Exhibiting bias that would benefit the nation they are playing.
  2. Exhibiting bias that would negatively affect a player they have a personal dispute with.
  3. Making a ruling that contradicts a proven fact from OTL or an established fact from earlier in the game.
  4. Overruling a decision of a majority of moderators.

The Game

1810

War between Napoleonic allies and Coalition forces continues. Napoleon's brothers and marshals continue to fight the British in Germany. The expedition into Denmark is initially successful but a lack of supplies and support being diverted to the main fight puts an end to it. Marshal Wolfgang Kohl returns home to join the main force. Meanwhile, Napoleon himself cross through Switzerland and the Swiss Alps, making a defensive alliance with the Swiss, and emerges in Savoy. After Savoy refuses to join his alliance, Napoleon overthrows the government and declares the Revolutionary Principality of Savoy, installing one of his brothers and placing revolutionary constitution on Savoy. The Savoyard royals flee to Corsica.

Russia conquers Finland from Scandinavia.

  • Free Hungary: Bathory orders military-funded mountain expeditions to take place in the Bakony Mountains, as he wants to map out the location (yes, I know they won't explore the entire mountains, as it's 1810, but I'm getting basic knowledge of points in the mountain range that a normal military force (if well equipped) can pass without to much Trouble). He gains a general Map of the outskirts of the mountains and Points where a well equipped military force could pass through, he orders for some sort of booby traps to be set along the passable points of the mountain, so he can secure Hungarian Independence, he shall call up a group of inventors next year to discuss possible traps to set along the mountain range. Bathory orders for some type of "Policing Boat unit" to be Organized And deployed in The Hungarian Side of the Danube, for a better Defense and some military resistance to fight off any foreign army, even if the Policing Unit themselves are badly equipped. Meanwhile forts and Disguised Cannons that are hidden in Bushes are set all around the northern Border. Bathory consolidates with his Advisors on where he should go and what he should do if a foreign army were to invade from the north (or even the south). He says that it's more likely for Germania, and Poland to invade then Russia or Belka, even if Russia is allied with the Germany and Poland, and says that he shall fight on the front lines in battle and lead his own Men into battle, and if Hungary capitulates, he shall retreat to Belka, set up a Militia force of my remaining Soldiers and possibly veterans, make a government in exile, and Dndak back into occupied Hungary and continue to wage War on the Occupiers via guerrilla warfare, which he has been studying thoroughly through the last few years and months. Bathory sends a diplomat to Russia, hoping to make some sort of Economical Agreement between the two nations (MOD RESPONSE ABSOLUTELY NEEDED!!!!!). Bathory orders three factories to be built in Hungary, one of each in Hungary's most populace and prosperous cities. One in Budapest, One in Debrecen, and one Misklolc, and are to be fueled with a decent amount of coal each year.
    • Russia says nah. -s
    • We send an envoy to the coalition against Napoleon requesting that they strike a Trading deal with us, in return we could give them weapon but we would stay neutral.
    • British Dip: We don't need your weapons.
  • Illinois Confederation: A radical Peoria named Thunder Snake hates the Mehicans. He starts an armed uprising in our land, first he sacks places of wealth then does border raids on the Mehicans, he uses guerrilla warfare against us, in the Battle of Lone Pine he wipe out 800 of our men, for safety, we called every woman and child to hide in the forts or cities. Meanwhile, our men wont leave the forts or cities, we call a state of crisis, Thunder Snake starts to kill Loyal Illinois, Mehicans and family of British traders alike be beheading. Three Crows flees into the State of Tejas.
  • Mehican Empire: Our army keeps training heavily using news local produced guns. Our army is being personally led by our Emperor but he does give some of his tasks to his young son. He does this to give him experience. His son is named "Augustinianus de Mérida e Augusthino Diltwa I" or simply known as "Augustinianus Augusthino Diltwa I". He is the official heir to the crown as being already around 20-30 years old but it wasn't told about him to keep him safe. Our Heir is fluent in Nahuatl, Portuguese and Latin and is quite good in English but he does often prefer horse riding and playing European sports and games. He also enjoys diplomacy and geography. The economy also begins to produce more alcohol and drinks for the masses. Pino also keeps writing his books but he finds that he shall not stop writing about the British Arcadia's "Liberty Bell Papers" keep being published but he also begins to publish with his group for The Dominion of Peru over how they should break their chains of oppression and reinstall the empire of Runorqo. They spread the message about how chains will be broken and the truth of God will rise again. Pino becomes a celebrity in his own region and he even gains Governorship over Baricano. Our Emperor personally offers the Russian empire to buy Russian Arcadia from them for five million Mehican Imperial Escudos but keep allowing the Russians to keep their forts for 25 years (Mod response)
  • United Kingdom of Great Britain: With the British holding their own in Germany this is well received. General Winston and his force are ordered to halt and go on the defensive as some forces are pulled off to other fronts. The French and British move forces to the Alps and dig in with them to hold the main passes in the event of an invasion from Savoy. To put pressure on Russia a task force of British ships and troops supported by Scandinavians is sent to take the West Estonian Archipelago by isolating the islands then landing troops putting pressure on the flank of St. Petersburg. The Crown Prince makes a visit to Germany and General Winston's headquarters. Most of the British fleet is in the Baltic supporting operations in Estonia. Troop and ship numbers continue to rise as recruitment goes positively. As industrialisation moves forward it creates competition between civilian and army jobs. While a lock down of the English channel is maintained this is negated by Napoleon's self-sufficiency Payments are made to France and Scandinavia by taking out loans to allow them to maintain powerful armies for the war. The banking sector has to develop significantly to pay the armies across Europe. With demand for weapons, munitions and uniforms up especially as British Arcadia expands its forces and France and Scandinavia are not industrialised so spent much of the money from Britain on buying equipment for their soldiers, industry and so mining moves forward well. While many were unsure of going to war with Napoleon the initial fear that war would be bad for business is wrong. England has 8.6 million people and inside of that London has a population of 0.8 million, Wales has 0.8 million, Ireland has 5.7 million people and Scotland 1.6 million.
    • Kingdom of Avalon, Iroquois and Savannah:  In an attempt to gain experience the Kingdom of Savannah dispatches a delegation of three dozen gentlemen to Britain to volunteer with the British army as officers on multiple fronts and gain experience in modern warfare. Each of the three kingdoms maintain a free trade status with Britain while restrict trade to other European powers with customs. The Kingdom of Iroquois expands 50 px west from Henry's land into OTL Kentucky and Ohio. Migration of those struggling due to industrialisation continues. The Kingdom of Savannah expands 50 px west along into West Mecicipici (OTL Arkansas). The economies of the Kingdom rely on a series of different things with Savannah exporting a lot of fruit, sugar and cotton while Iroquois grow tobacco, cotton and large cattle herds while Avalon still does larger amounts of fishing as well as staple crops. The population of Avalon is 1.1 million, Iroquois has 2.6 million and Savannah has 2.5 million. The Mehican Empire propaganda is worrying, the more established landowners and English ones speak heavily about how Mehica doesn't really worship the Christian God and that they speak a different language. Listening to Mehica propaganda is dangerous because it is such a native society. Illinois is seen as being outright aggressive and in league with Mehica. Removing the monarch when they have full autonomy and a beneficial relationship of trade and migration with an industrialised state seems unwise. The publication isn't read by most people because rural farmers don't tend to read foreign books.
  • Brésil: The Saint-Denis project continues. To organize the colonization of the Cerrado, Chambrun begins to write an ordinance but then questions what unit would be used to measure out claims of land. Measurements were slightly standardized in the Coinage Act of 1892, but many measurements still existed throughout Brésil, many being based off of arbitrary things. Chambrun looking for a practical and standardized measurement makes a competition throughout Brésil with a decent cash prize to whoever can develop the best system. After a few months and many people producing interesting measurements, a man named Hubert Prudhomme finally arrives at court with his system. Prudhomme is a middle-aged man who studied mathematics in a French institution and spends his time running and managing a trading company that sails between France, Burgundy, Brésilian, and other nations in the Francosphere. Through his knowledge and research of French and Burgundian mathematicians since the 1500s, Prudhomme proposes what he calls the "Métrique System" (OOC: Scraw gave me permission). The system is based off of measurements/distances of the Earth. He creates the mètre for length, litre for volumes of liquid, and the gramme for mass. This is declared the standard weights and measures of Brésil by Chambrun, and is set to replace all other systems in the nation. Chambrun then creates the Land Ordinance Act of 1810 which sets up rules of settlement in the uncolonized interior of the country, and provides another revenue stream for the federal government. The Emperor's brother, Cosme Nicolas, is sent to the United Kingdom with gifts to discuss relations. With large amounts of pro-native propaganda being spread around the New World, Chambrun institutes a policy/guarantee that if any natives gain control and overthrow a Catholic government in Laurentia, Brésil will dismantle the false government and re-institute Catholic institutions in that state.
  • Belkan Federation: Seeing war once again sweeping Europe the Congress begins full debate on whether to join the British Coalition or form its own in order to combat the excessively expansionist Napoleon, a stark irony compared to Belka's previous policies, The debate, however, does give the Generals massive leeway in words of mobilization. As Belka remains on a hair trigger for mobilization the Generals all begins calling up new troops, reserves, as well as beginning the training regimens of the existing 400,000 Belkan troops. Within the full period of this year, the Belkan army is expected to add nearly 250,000 men from new recruits and its reserves. The economics of the Federation begins to become more solid and grounded on a war footing and tens of thousands of people are able to acquire industrial jobs as the Belkan industries for arms, munitions, and textiles take off as well as the artisans who are hoping to make money off the war. The Shipbuilding industry also begins to take off while the Belkan clients of Lombardia and Czechia begin mobilizing their own forces with Lombardia and Czechia both mobilizing upward of 150,000 troops apiece while buying arms from Belka in order to facilitate their build up.

1811

The raging conflicts throughout Europe have infringed heavily on the rights of several minority groups specifically Gypsies and Jews who suffer attacks on their property and lives in all but a few nations in Europe

The Nation of De Platé (OTL Argentina) finally centralizing much of itself under control of the city Normand secures much territory further south pushing into the southern cone of Laurentia and also proves itself to be a competent military force breaking the backs of Mapuche Raiders that consistently raid Platé.

The Mehican Empire suffered a huge economic crash as the wars in Europe disrupt much of the profitable trades that the Mehicans generally would partake in. The lopsided trades or lack thereof makes much of the Mehicans pushes in other nations next to useless and previous offers to buy territory worthless.

Napoleon, from his new position in Savoy, invades France. Although he doesn't have his full army, he is able to incite rebellion among French people who are amazed and inspired by his presence. Additionally, he promises independence to Occitania. Napoleon's numbers are bolstered by the Iberians, who sweep through southern France and join with Napoleon to face the French.

Fighting between Coalition forces and Napoleon's Marshals in northern Germany continues endlessly with neither side gaining anything.

Russia and Scandinavia sign a peace, with Scandinavia surrendering Finland to Russia as an autonomous principality.

  • United Kingdom of Great Britain: Seeing the situation in Germany fail to make progress General Winston is ordered to move to Southern France with the bulk of his forces and confront Napoleon. The remaining forces in Germany are ordered to just maintain their position. The Scandinavians now free from fighting with Russia are asked to take a lot of responsibility for holding out in Germany while British and French forces fight Napoleon in the south of France. Seeing that people in France are siding with him this is concerning because he is a foreigner, not much can be done about that. If the rebellion by locals gets to back the coalition can always fall back to central France. Any retreat is done with a scorched earth policy while the navies stop movement of supplies across the Atlantic coast. This must create a supply shortage at some point for the Germans. More money is sent to France to allow them to raise a bigger army through conscription as things get worse they can raise more men.
  • Illinois Confederation:  We fight against Thunder Snake, winning battle after battle. We soon capture Thunder Snake and kill him. We start to rebuild and help the people and we keep trading. Seeing the crisis, we break off ties with Mehicans and we ask the Brits if can part of Savannah where OTL St. Louis is.
  • Mehican Empire: Our emperor tries to gain information on trade with the Illinois. We also stop training Our army to save Taxes that are spend on new materials. Soldiers from Baricano are also send back to the mainland. While in Baricano, we allow militias to defend the island. The Army also mostly moves to the UK border to make sure that they will not invade our native lands. Our Emperor also makes it so that The Barican Export and import tariffs go 1.5% then they were before making it 2.3% tariffs on them. Our Navy also asks the Brésilians for closer economic and military ties and lowering tariffs with each other (Brasil response) so that our economies can be less dependent on European trade and more on trade of Cēmānāhuac. Our heir to the throne "Augustinianus de Mérida e Augusthino Diltwa I" Begins to openly show His liking for Russian culture and he pressures his father to adopt a more Russian-like banner. He also writes the Russian diplomats that he wants to visit Russia. After the crisis is done but that he already seeks to have tutors to teach him their language and even to send missionaries to Mehico to look to see if he should convert to their version of Christianity or not. (mod response)
  • Brésil: European trade heavily decreases due to the Panic of 1811 from Europe being at war. Although this hits Brésil it is to a lesser degree than other nations like Mehico. This leads Chambrun to cut expenditures by decreasing the upkeep for the military and temporarily instituting a cost-sharing program for roads and infrastructure for cities/towns (instead of central government having full responsibility). Tariffs are also temporarily reduced to encourage the trade that is left in the Atlantic to come to Brésil. These changes allow for the investment in the capital project to continue and other necessary programs without the government engaging in long-term debt. In other news, Emperor Alexandre creates the "Académie Impériale des Sciences et des Connaissances" as a learned society and institution similar to ones in Europe. This is a place where more ideas can be developed, collaboration between researchers can take place, more discoveries can be made, and where geniuses can be provided resources they need for experiments. The first man inducted is Hubert Prudhomme. Seven others are also inducted into the society by Alexandre, and the Emperor declares Prudhomme as their leader, and gives him the responsibility to control and add members to the organization who are prominent scholars in Brésil. All of the members are given the title "Imperial Scholars". Prince Cosme stays in the United Kingdom to improve relations.
    • Papal Diplomacy: Pope Henry writes to Emperor Alexandre to inquire as to the status of the Bishop of Saint Peter-in-Brésil. During French times, the Bishop had significant autonomy in governing St. Peter province, and in 1784, he announced loyalty to the revolutionary government.
      • Brésilian Response: Emperor Alexandre ensures the Pope that the Bishop of Saint Peter-in-Brésil will retain general autonomy in the larger municipal area of Saint Peter, and that state and church should have a close relationship and collaborate. Alexandre also requests some gold to finance a new and grand cathedral (similar to those in Europe) that will be around the new capital plaza in Saint-Denis.
      • Papal Response: Pope Henry thanks the Emperor, and gladly sends a significant sum of gold from his personal funds, as well as a premier architect and engineer, to assist with the new cathedral.
  • Ethiopian Empire: King Joshua continues to use young talent to fill the spots open in government, forming a more educated bureaucracy than before. He beings to get crops yields to rise and encourages sons with no inheritance to move into to cites to set up shops that will help boost the economy. The emperor funds the Colleges of Axum and Adulis to help the nation catch up to the Europeans in the technology, and also thinks of places to open another college. The best craftsman are hired to help build a red sea trade fleet and so a smaller effect for protections purposes. The Nile fleet is sent to patrol the Nile to keep trade lines open to Europe. The projects to bring flowing water from the Nile are continued slowly, as the purpose of the government is to helps its people. The Imperial guard is sent to train farmers how to fight in case of an invasion or war.
  • Papal States: The Pope is both disappointed with Emperor Napoleon that he has reneged on his promise to stop conquering more land, and disappointed with the Allies for attacking the lands of the man His Holiness recognised as Emperor. As a result, Pope Henry officially declares the neutrality of the Papacy in the current war. Hearing of the attacks on Jews, Pope Henry makes the shock move of re-issuing the papal bull Sicut Judaeis which condemns attacks on Jews. In his proclamation of re-issue, Pope Henry notes that the Gypsies are henceforth also covered under the protections of Sicut Judaeis. Missions continue.
  • Egypt: Cotton plantations begin to grow in both size and number across the Nile, with plantation owners utilizing forced-peasant labour to work on the fields. With the growth of the plantations, cotton exports rise significantly. The Nile to produce large amounts Maize and other agricultural goods such as Wheat. The Antiquarian Cultural of the Abbasids begins a re-imperial amongst the elite of the City of Alexandria, with Ancient Egyptian Tombs being sold and auctioned at extremely high prices. As a result of this, museums across Upper and Lower Egypt, closed by the Ethiopians are re-opened. Despite major interest in that of ancient Egypt, there is a larger interest in the Caliphates of the Abbasids and Rashidun. After analysis of the papers stored within these cities, scholars and scientists begin to continue on work established by the Abbasids with work continued to be conducted on mathematics in Alexandria. The Coptic Population begins to drop slightly, secluding itself to various sections of the city due to segregation, with the Amharic population showing trends of moving south into the Sudanese regions. Muhammad Ali continues his military reforms, establishing a professional bureaucracy and placing it on the standards of a modern military. Cairo begins to book with literature, art and music, beginning to reclaim itself as the centre of the Middle East. The Canal of the Pharaohs, Fitah Al-Farun is expanded. Princess Fatima gains a rare illness. The population stands at 18 million. Tensions grow with the Swahili.
    • OOC: Who is the pope of Alexandria?
    • Whoever you want him to be. FYI though, the Coptic Church is an independent self-governing church of the universal Catholic Church. ~Cal
  • Hawaii: Colonization and expansion into Hawaiian territories continues. After the annexation of Tonga, settlement of formally Tongan possessions by native Hawaiians continues. Expansion of the Hawaiian navy continues with more European-style ships being constructed.
  • Kingdom of Burgundy: in light of Napoleons invasion of France, King Lodewijk formally enters the war against him. The bulk of Burgundian Royal Army, Under the command of Grand Marshal Frederik van Lëtzebuerg, is sent to link up with the French loyalists. At the same time, cavalry regiments are detached and sent on independent missions behind enemy lines, burning and looting Napoleons supply trains. The Burgundian High Seas Fleet is sent to interdict the sea lanes between Iberia and Napoleons forces.

1812

With Burgundy entering the war, Napoleon and his armies leave France to the Spanish and move directly into the heart of Burgundy. With British troops mostly out of Germany, German troops redirect their focus to invade Burgundy as well. This double invasion of Burgundy culminates in one major battle where the Burgundian troops are defeated. German forces take control of Dijon.

However, things are not so great. The British blockade is making things very difficult for the Germans, as they are relying completely on Spanish help in that regard. As such, Napoleon decides to offer a three-year peace to Britain and Burgundy in exchange for status quo ante bellum.

In order to impose the will of the Pope, Napoleon orders his troops to cease hostilities on Jews and to protect them. This makes Jews more amenable to the Germans, but their neighbors are not so happy.

  • Malaya: We cut down trade with France as our overlords are at war with them. Infrastructure is developed, and urbanisation continues in Borneo. The Navy is redeveloped, with new ships being built in the dry docks at Melaka. Relations are worked on with the other Burgundian protectorates in the region, while religious tolerance is promoted in schools.
  • Kingdom of Burgundy: with the fall of Dijon, an envoy is sent to Napoleon, wanting to accept the peace offer, but notes that they can only accept on behalf of themselves and cannot influence the decision Britain will come to (mod response, please).
    • Napoleon accepts this and withdraws his troops from Burgundy. -scraw
  • Mehican empire:Our emperor Moctezuma Raul Augusthino Diltwa I dies in office of an illness. His oldest son "'Augustinianus de Mérida e Augusthino Diltwa Isucceeds him as Emperor with his Imperial  name being "Carlos de Mérida e Augusthino Diltwa I" Or shortly said as "Carlos Augusthino Diltwa I". Our new Tlahtoāni Changes the banner and Coat of arms and dresses more European while at the same time He meets the Philosopher of Pino, they talk about all manners like how he believes Pino must be clothed. Pino also gets the request to get state funds by getting Pino his own headquarters and place to print his papers. Carlos even offers him to become the writer of "bandeira verde" the newspaper of Mēxihcah iluitsintli Party. Our Tlahtoāni Asks The Grand Principality of Gran Panama to recognise him as their grand prince and symbolic head of state (note: he does not have actual power). (Mod response)He asks to keep the close ties with them and to further help them for the future. Our Emperor seeing that the tension may come in southern Cēmānāhuac Begins to plan to look for relations with the British with him even offering to meet their King. Meeting each other as equals and as both European brothers (Our Emperor has European heritage).
    • GP says nah. -s
    • Mehican Diplomacy: We warn Gran panama if they do not recognise our Emperor as their grand prince. That we Will arrest the Governor-General and Disband the national assembly. Make a new constitution giving them less freedoms and might.
    • Gran Panama: Try us. -s
      • Brésilian Diplomacy: Emperor Alexandre writes that although Gran Panama is a Mehican principality and Brésil respects that, he warns Emperor Moctezuma to not impede on another nation's sovereignty as there will be consequences.
  • United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland: Having failed to defeat Napoleon currently and it looking unlikely that Napoleon will be defeated anytime soon. The British accept the peace offer. Not being willing to simply allow this to be Napoleon's domination of central Europe, the British army is not demobilised but moved back to England for further training. The British army officer academy is expanded with longer periods of training while firmer regulations on promotions are laid down creating set amounts of time an officer has to serve in each rank before he can purchase another one. The academy also creates more stringent entry requirements and passing out requirements. Seeing the need for larger forces to be wielded, the corps is formed allowing larger forces to be moved. Greater emphasis is given over to training off all arms to allow better movement. Horse artillery begins to be introduced in larger numbers and crews are trained to move as such while British cavalry officers are given heavy retraining and maneuvers are conducted on brigade scale. There is a continued recruitment of more soldiers. The country rebuilds its finances after a number of years at war. The British continue to play a large role in helping the French and Scandinavian armies build up by supplying a lot of fund and equipment. Philippe Girard invents a flax-spinning machine. Henry Bell's PS Comet begins a passenger service on the River Clyde in Scotland, the first commercially successful steamboat service in Europe.
  • Kingdom of Ndongo (Angola): We offer trade to the British, Iberian nation and the Swahili nations. We offer ivory, leopard skins, wood, leopard skins and spices in exchange for a few guns, two cannons, some metallic pots and pans, and several dozen of their superior cast metal tools meant for cutting stone and wood. The rulers encourage loyalty to them among the tribes.
  • Brésil: Yo, Saint-Denis project continues and other stuff happens.

1813

In France, the king decides to accept a liberal constitution in order to put an end to the revolution. The revolutionaries are discredited and conservatives win the first elections held under the new constitution.

The Pope is dying in 1815, if you have a vote go vote for a new Pope here.

  • Jin dynasty: Kangxi Emperor leads recovery. A ten-year economic policy is drafted, which will emphasize the production of cereal grains, re-monetization of the economy through the establishment of gold mines, and encouragement of mercantile and commercial activities to redistribute wealth from relatively-unaffected to the worst hit regions. Industrial facilities continue to churn out massive volumes of wrought iron derived from pig iron, as well as gunpowder and other processed commodities; most of which are utilised in the production of various armaments, firearms and artillery. The Zaihaibian colonies are administered by the Chinese Indies Company.
    • Nivkh Commandery: Tiger Pastries Inc., a subsidiary of Lady Lin Tea, continues to flourish as a business. The Nivkh Prince-Governor (which is the member of the Nivkh Ayzik branch of the House of Kim) continues to adopt Korean and Chinese architecture, paving roads to facilitate transport, and replacing wood and thatch roofing with stone bricks and clay tiles, respectively.
    • Sakha (protectorate): The Khan continues to adopt Korean and Chinese architecture, paving roads to facilitate transport, and replacing wood and thatch roofing with stone bricks and clay tiles, respectively. Siberian crab-apples become a local renowned fruit, and is particularly prized in Korea and northern China.
    • Xizang (protectorate): Lhasa, the capital, is expanded and modernized. The Tibetan clergy continues to administer the protectorate, with its leader, the Dalai Lama, being considered a vassal or substitute monarch. Two civil and two military Caravels are built in Tripoli. 100 infantry, 200 sailors and 50 cavalry are recruited; half go to Tripoli and half got to Oran as guards from European privateers. We reaffirm our friendship with the Kingdom of Arabia and Persia. Trade is offered to the Swahili, Kongo and Nadongo - your ivory and exotic animal skins in trade for our figs, dates and millet.
  • Kingdom of Ndongo: We agree to Maghreb's offer. We continue to promote tribal inter unity.
  • Papal States: Napoleon gets a great popularity boost from his implementation of the Pope's re-issuing of Sicut Judaeis, and a delegation of rabbis of Rome profoundly thanks Pope Henry for his kindness to the Jews. The Parlamento authorises a new initiative to improve transport across the States, and asks Great Britain to send some experts on the new steam-driven ships.
    • British Dip: While the British government isn't opposed to the idea, the proprietary technology is owned by private individuals who do offer to sell a large number of steam ships but are unwilling to send experts to help in their production.
  • Mehican Empire: Our Tlahtoāni Sends his diplomats and asks the Gran Panamanians to come and discus the relations and who should be their grand prince and governor-general. (Mod response) While at the same time he puts 20,000 troops on their border to prevent any invasion from them. The Governors of Novo Tejas being allowing foreigners to immigrate so long if they accept Mehican laws and will serve in the Mehican army. legião real estrangeira Is founded as a way for foreigner to serve Mehico so they can get Mehican citizenship and all rights of a Mehican person. Having to serve for at least ten years or risen to the rank of Lieutenant Commander. The taxation over Barican begins to become higher with 0.5% making the import tax 3.0%. This is done because most imports go to Mérida or to Barican ports to then go the mainland. We also make the layered taxation where luxury goods get taxed by the state and by the national government while in territories there is only two layers national and municipal in a state there are three the national, state and municipal taxes but these are low and most of the time only taxed on important goods like guns, books, jewelry. Our farmers in Tejas and Novo Tejas cotton begins to be farmed and produced in greater number then before when it was basically non existing now it has a great amount of farmers dependent on cotton and the servants working on the plantations. This cotton is mostly used in Mehico and other neighbouring states but some is exported to other nation that are unable to produce it themselves
  • United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland: With the war still over, reforms and training continue but appetite for another war with Napoleon declines with more interest outside of Europe. Seeing from the war the need for skirmishers and the power of rifles, marksmen units are formed within each light company to be armed with rifles and to target cannon crew although in Europe it is prohibited to target officers being ungentlemanly. Light companies are worked on to encourage more flexibility. A lot of the soldiers and sailors are released from active duty but could still be called back. The Industrial revolution is really starting as more factories are set up with population growth. Passenger services (by horse-drawn coach) begin on the Kilmarnock and Troon Railway, the first such service in Scotland. Edward Howard invents the enclosed vacuum pan for refining sugar. England has 9.5 million people and inside of that London has a population of 0.8 million, Wales has 0.8 million, Ireland has 5.9 million people and Scotland 1.8 million.
    • British Indian States: In South India, Robert Clive who is the Vizier of the country signs a treaty between the East India Company and South India giving the Company, total control over their trade from the previous near monopoly on trade and responsibility for raising good European style armies. He enhances his position as Vizier to be more permanent by self- declaration. Robert Clive also brings in Sepoy regiments from other states to help train the new army quickly. Much of the old warrior forces are converted to Sepoy units while officers are exclusively recruited from the nobility like in Britain. In the rest of the Indian states. There is an expansion of the number of Sepoys with more recruiting and training of the forces while the heavy cavalry forces are still recruited from Sindh and Gujarat. This is all paid for by the Indian states since these forces are for there protection. Tensions with Bengal are heightened by reducing trade and enhancing border defences.
    • Kingdom of Avalon, Iroquois and Savannah: The gentleman volunteers return from England with their new knowledge and such. The Kingdom of Iroquois expands 50 px west from Henry's land into OTL Kentucky and Ohio. Migration of those struggling due to industrialisation continues. The Kingdom of Savannah expands 50 px west along into West Mecicipici (OTL Arkansas). There is an exploding amount of population with immigration, high birth rates and vast amounts of undiscovered land. The economies of the Kingdom rely on a series of different things with Savannah exporting a lot of fruit, sugar and cotton while Iroquois grow tobacco, cotton and large cattle herds while Avalon still does larger amounts of fishing as well as staple crops. The population of Avalon is 1.3 million, Iroquois has 3.2 million and Savannah has 3.4 million.
  • Ethiopian Empire: With the end of the European war, the observers sent return with valuable military information. They speak of armies that are well trained and paid by their governments, and they remain soldiers after war. Joshua takes this information and downsizes the Imperial guard to 75,000 and institutes the regimental and company system used by the Europeans. The young observers are put in charge of these regiments. The regiments are sent to the different areas of the Ras's. However, they are still controlled by the Emperor as he now pays these troops from the treasury. The bureaucracy that has been running the nation for the past few years are set in their positions since they have been running the nation well. The emperor begins to expand the nation south toward the larger lakes in order to give more water for irrigation and the flowing water for cities projects. Emperor subsidized workshops are set up for the arms industry to ensure the best firearms for the Army. The Red sea fleet continues to be built and should be done by next year. Excess funds are put back into to society in the form of more churches and schools.
  • Swahili: We continue colonial expansion in Northern Somalia, in the South and in the Malindi and Mombassa area. Colonisation steadily increases as medicine and weaponry become more widespread. With the victory over many tribes by Zakia's militia, a large wave of colonisation of the inner region begins. Zakia settles down in Malawi and founds the Swahili Military Academy. His old rival Azizi joins him as the first principals of the Academy. Canning is developed in manufactories of Mogadishu as the surrounding areas begin a manufacturing prosperity due to ex-slaves entering the labour market. Calcium and Potassium are isolated in the Malindi Madrassa. The first Swahili scientific Journal is published and multiple new universities are open. Chlorophyll is isolated in the Mogadishu Madrassa. Coal and coke production increases in Mtwara and Ibo.
    • Sefuwa: The colony of Sefuwa continues development.
    • Huriya: Political integration begins with Swahili bureaucrats being sent to oversee some political processes.
    • Rowzi: Political integration begins with Swahili bureaucrats being sent to oversee some political processes.
    • Swahili Diplomacy: We send an emissary to Europe seeking greater relations.
  • Kingdom of Savannah: A newspaper company begins to become extremely popular across the nation named Charleston Times. They are hailed as one of if not the most unbiased news source in the country. General John Wallace begins training his assigned military group of around 12,000 men around a new built training site in the Appalachian slopes for combat training if war ever becomes necessary. In the meantime, eight men in Parliament begin to work on a new ideology of a different form of constitutional Monarchy in Roanoke. Immigration Ports begin to be made with some islands off the coast of OTL North Carolina Outer banks being transformed into areas of immigration. Roads and bridges begin to be used more commonly as well for accommodating easy travel across the kingdom. Royal mints are opened up across urbanized lands. Security measures are at a high though to make sure no immigrants plan to harm anyone due to arising fears of foreigners in some areas but remain as a minimum. In the meantime, cotton production continues to boom making our economy quite sustainable. Diplomats are sent to both Mehico and The Kingdom of Iroquois to better relations and trade routes while in The Kingdom of Iroquois, we discuss common political and economic issues we face and how to resolve them together. Steamships begin to be built further and are found to be quite useful. A medium sized fleet of around 30 ships begins to be built to eventually create a self-sustaining navy to secure protection against foreign invasion and to be used as a buffer if British support is not enough if such an event was to occur.

1814

In France, the king decides to abdicate after the Assembly passes many laws that he refuses to sign. His son, the boy Louis, becomes the new king.

In Hungary, Bathory is killed. People celebrate as his reign of terror has come to an end and he was much despised. However, a power struggle develops between his generals that becomes an all out civil war.

Pope Henry falls into ill health.

Pretty sad the British pope is falling ill. George Stephenson puts his first steam locomotive in service, the Blücher for Killingworth Colliery on Tyneside in England. England has 9.6 million people and inside of that London has a population of 0.8 million, Wales has 0.8 million, Ireland has 5.9 million people and Scotland 1.8 million.
    • British Indian States: The training of Sepoy forces continues with Muslim heavy horse forces in addition to Grenadiers. All forces are trained as line infantry. The sale of various Indian goods in Britain grows while South India is brought into the fold as Robert Clive reorganises the taxation system to pay for the government and the East India company. While agricultural production largely is excluded, major industry is taxed. Tensions with Bengal are heightened by reducing trade through tariffs and enhancing border defences.
    • Kingdom of Avalon and Iroquois: The Kingdom of Iroquois expands 50 px west from Henry's land into OTL Kentucky and Ohio. Migration of those struggling due to industrialisation continues. The population of Avalon is 1.3 million and Iroquois has 3.2 million.
  • Kingdom of Savannah: Following the events of last year, infrastructure continues to develop. In the meantime, we continue expansion by 50 px to the west. With new settlements popping up and a growing population reaching nearly 3.5 million, new plantations are opened up with land being cleared out for cotton. The cotton gin becomes a highly used product on these plantations. In the meantime, New London sees greater levels of development with an orchestra being created. John Wallace continues to train his men on the Appalachian Slopes. In the meantime, a growth in birth rates and such continue with more immigrants flooding in. Immigrant fears begin to lower. John Wallace is called into combat after a major incident in a small town to the south where natives begin attacking and raiding homes. These are quickly suppressed though. Following this, the call for localized volunteer force is made clear by citizens across the country. Because of this, local militias begin to be formed in small to moderate sized towns and settlements. In total, the average force consist of about 80 volunteer men with muskets and guns used to protect towns from disturbances when called upon by mayors and officials of these area. Following the return of diplomats, as expected cooperation with the Kingdom of Iroquois is made clear with well handled conversations and enjoyment of each other's presence made clear. Diplomats remain in Mehico to possibly place a state of neutrality and friendliness when it comes to presence nearby borders to ensure a state of peace. With this made clear, an offer is made to the Kingdom of Iroquois to hold and invite an assembly of Parliament from both nation's to discuss common issues and to resolve them as one together (Mod Response). 20 more small ships are called to be built with a recruitment of about 3000 men is successfully achieved. Immigration Ports see more activity by the year.
    • OOC Person: Your population is about 3.4 million as of last year not 4.5 million.
    • Sorry about that, I meant 3.5 million. If it is too soon, I'll just change it to that. ;)
    • The Kingdom of Iroquois agrees to send representatives.
  • Mehican Empire:Our emperor demands Gran Panama to come to tables and talk about the future and set the debts they have that they haven't paid yet right and come to a stable political solution. Pino also writes papers about the Savannah and how their spirit to unite British Arcadia will lead to easier and more representative politics for the the white and native men. He himself begins to use the angelised version of Dezia to call all of British Arcadia with ten pounds being the most common used money for he personally sees. The angelisation of Dezia becomes Dixie to make it easier pronounceable and better feeling feeling with the natives.
  • Belkan Federation: The Belkan Federation holds its elections with the right wing party known as the Slavophile party. The Duma, and the various Soviets are all taken by Storm as the threat of Napoleon has become apparent. The New Vozdh, Boris Broz Tito takes power and immediately goes about establishing a major plan for the consequence of a war in Europe between Napoleon and the Belkan state. He immediately begins rebuilding the Belkan military to levels not seen since the Belkan revolution. Upward of 600,000 troops are fully armed and deployed and the Reserves begin to be brought up to par as well. The Belkan theory of Mass Assault Doctrine begins to come back into practice and exercises are put into place to train the military in the art of this warfare. the rebuilding of the Belkan martial engineers is also taken into consideration as the Engineer regiments are rebuilt and trained in order to quickly build field fortifications among other things. The Industrial strength of the Belkan nation begins to expand significantly as the Danube delta and the Belgrad Industrial complexes take off in massive competition. Manufactured goods begin to flood the market as various craftsman begin to fill in the open factory positions. The Belkan client states also begin to mobilize but as well seem to buy many Belkan markets goods which are known to be some of the most top quality specifically textiles and arms. A Belkan force of roughly 65,000 begins to be marshaled as it prepares to intervene in the Hungarian civil war not wishing to see an unstable state on the northern border of Belka.
  • Jin dynasty: Kangxi Emperor leads recovery, with emphasis on exerting tighter control over China. The ideals of social stratification, elitism, and respect of the establishment are once again promoted among intellectuals. Confucian orthodoxy is promoted, with heterodox sects being shut down. A period of literary inquisition begins, with anti-Kim authors being executed for treason. With the ten-year economic policy being successful so far, the production of cereal grains has rebounded, while the commerce has recovered with the re-monetization of the economy through the establishment of gold mines (reducing reliance on foreign bullion). Taxes, previously set low, are increased, especially on merchants. The tax money is sent to the worst-hit regions to rehabilitate them. Industrial facilities continue to churn out massive volumes of wrought iron derived from pig iron, as well as gunpowder and other processed commodities; most of which are utilised in the production of various armaments, firearms, and artillery. The Zaihaibian colonies continued to be administered by the Chinese Indies Company, though there is talks of it being sold to a foreign power. The Kangxi Emperor decides to maintain a more internally-oriented policy, with most people in Uluru being withdrawn, though a skeleton garrison is maintained as to uphold the Council of Ngarrindjeri.
Many Tibetans are encouraged (via financial incentives) to become more sedentary, with food instead being supplied from nearby Sichuan (thereby reducing over reliance in inefficient herding).
    • North Mongolia: Yurt is further settled. A healthy aquaculture industry is established, harvesting and raising fish from the Baikal Lake.
  • Maghreb: Coastal irrigation is upgraded, with the updating of fig, grape, millet and date farming. We continue to trade with the Nadongo, considering the earlier deal a success, and make a similar trade deal (our figs, dates and grapes for your Ivory, leopard skins and exotic fruit) to the Swahili and Benin. We promote tribal unity and cultural oneness among the nation. Coastal roads are improved. A new fort opens in Algiers, Oran, Bezerte and Agadir. We wish to open diplomatic and trading relations with the Sicilians.

1815

Pope Henry dies. Napoleon moves quickly to invade the Papal States. At the gates of Rome, he threatens to attack the city if the Conclave does not elect the candidate of his choosing.

  • Swazi states: The King tours the nation and visits the clan chiefs. Agriculture is promoted and cattle herding is promoted. We pop the agricultural farming techniques up slightly. Genet (animal) are kept as pets and a source of fir (the tails). We want to open trade with the Rowzi Empire to the south, Maghreb, Empire of Ethiopia, Maasai Tribe and the Swahili (our Genet the tails, clubs and rhino horns for your muskets, metal cooking pans and pistols). New sports promoting the use of isihlangu shield, assegai spear and iwisa clubs are devised and promoted.
  • Belkan Federation: Vozdh Tito takes control of the developing situation in Italy and unwilling to see the Papal process overturned as well as seeing a friendly and worthwhile ally from the past as well as being a deeply religion man, The Vozdh declares that Napoleon has overstepped his authority. The Vozdh mobilized the bulk of his army planning on leaving the Reserves and garrisons to hold the line on the Home Front. The Belkan general Vladislav Trescunov takes command of the 400,000 strong main Army and slams through the Austrian borders as he declares war on Napoleon shortly afterward recognizing him as the scourge of Europe. Of the remaining 200,000 troops left they join the Lombardian army of nearly 100,000 and they cross the border effectively cutting Napoleons forces off as the Belkan navy mobilizes to prevent supply shipments as well as surprise Napoleons allies. A Series of Surprise raids are conducted on Savoy with major attempts made to burn most of their ships at port. The Italian Campaign is ordered on the lines that Napoleon can and will be trapped outside Rome and the Papal State is called upon to levy its army together to fight alongside the Belkans in order to cause grievous damage to Napoleons armies. While this is not considered a likely option, the Vozdh decides it within his best interests to fight anyways, knowing Belka is a veritable fortress. The main army of 400,000 enters Germany only to quickly link up with a Czech Army of nearly 200,000. The Vozdhs of Belka and Czechia as well as the Doge of Lombardia all coalesce together in the 2nd Coalition and shortly thereafter the Greek Confederation joins as well bringing nearly 50,000 men to the southern Reaches of the Papal state. The 300,000 strong force begins to heavily harass napoleons siege of Rome and the German Expeditionary Army coalesces into a major invasion of Austria and parts of Prussia fully promising the Prussian nobility land gains and their old positions back if they join the Second Coalition against Napoleon (Scraw). While this is the case, the early adopting of industrial production has put Belka in a commanding production lead over pretty much the rest of Europe barring Britain, the Belkan industrial manufactories churn out equipment, uniforms, munitions, and thousands are put to work. The forts along the borders are all manned and such a spacing is left so as to allow the forts to reinforce and if a battle is committed the main reserve army numbering 200,000 can move to counteract. The Vozdh gives a speech in which the most sticking phrase stands out and is published in papers all over the Federation, and its clients, and even across Europe within the end of the month. "This is a total war, one like our Great Crusade against the Caliphate, and one that will end in such a way that puts Napoleon well into his place". Belka calls on its oldest and most reliable ally Russia to join the Second Coalition and crush Napoleon bringing Eastern Europe back to the Order in which was decided decades ago by our two nations (Also Scraw) In other happenings the Belkan population reaches 26 million.
    • The Prussians attempt to secure their independence again thanks to the Belkan invasion, but this creates a problem for Russia as they now need to secure their gains. Russia sends to word to Belka that they will not fight them.
  • Siam- We offer our hand in Buddhist friendship to Đại Việt, Cambodia, Lan Xang, Maori Kingdom, the Kingdom of Malaya and Uluru Empire. We offer trade in exotic spices and fruits to Uluru and Maori Kingdom in exchange for eucalyptus leaves, eucalyptus wood, sea shells, live kiwis and cowala bear skins. We offer trade in in exotic spices and fruits to Burgundy, Bharat and France. We open a new Stupa (temple) in Bangkok and expand our fishing fleet. The king takes a close interest in astrology and promotes learning about the cosmic cosmos.
  • Brésil: In 1814, after Chambrun's eventful Grand Deputiship, a French-Italian writer in his second term of deputiship is elected named Yannic-Pierre Gachet. Although the economy has mostly recovered from the First Coalition War, with Napoleon's aggression starting again, Gachet decides not to raise tariffs to encourage Atlantic trade to come to Brésil. Gachet continues to use most government funds toward the Saint-Denis Project. The Palais Députés is completed as well as the Palais Medici. Many minor buildings around the plaza have also been completed, and the garden has been installed. The State of Saint-Denis and the reflecting pools are still to be done, as well as a few minor buildings, and the Palais Tribunal, which Gachet estimates will be done by the end of the decade. Gachet completes two books, "Les Croyances de Mon Père" encouraging conservatism and support for Parti Traditionnel, and "Le Destin" which outlines many conservative principles. Gachet attempts to push for constitutional amendment to guarantee the Grande Parlement, but is quickly shot down by the Emperor and the rest of the Assembly. Colonization continues; in the north it is mainly focused on rivers, in the south the savanna continues to be settled. Compositions and designs are redone on national coinage. Gachet invites Gran Panaman leaders to the rebuilt city of Bélem to improve relations and discuss trade deals. They are promised gifts (mod response)Probably more to come...
    • Gran Panama sends representatives.
  • Hawaii: We continue expanding across the Pacific, trading and settling our various conquered or colonized possessions, especially Tonga, and other islands in the far southwest. The king declares neutrality in the wars in Europe, despite the hostility against the state of France, a lapsed ally of the Hawaiians. An ambassador is sent to establish an embassy in the newly formed Germany and hopefully establish good relations. It is discovered that an inventor in France has successfully captured the first ever photograph, and makes the news across the European country. The Hawaiian government learns of this, via the embassy in Paris, and offers the inventor funding in exchange for access to this technology once it reaches a practical stage. (I'm running out of non-photograph pictures for my leaders and the camera isn't too far off anyway.) The sandalwood commodity, the highly valued Hawaiian commodity, especially in China, continues to be mass produced. Due to the greater interconnectedness the kingdom has established with the west, this leads to a minor economic boom. Major plantations begin to spring up all across the kingdom. The money is used to further upgrade the nation's infrastructure and military, especially the modernized navy. A law is drafted that is to be put into law sometime next year reforming the Hawaiian naming conventions. All Hawaiians are to take their father's given name as a surname. Future children are allowed to receive a unique name as per tradition. However, this is to be relegated to a middle name, following either a simple Hawaiian name, a Christian name (from French), or a "Hawaiianized" Christian name, such as "Lui" or "Pier".
  • United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland: With the expiration of the peace terms and Napoleon being completely out of line in invading the Papal States and demanding to choose the Pope. In addition to Belka having joined in Britain declares war on Napoleon's Germany and requests France, Burgundy and Scandinavia support (mod response). 60,000 troops are dispatched under General Winston to Burgundy through the ports of Rotterdam and Amsterdam protected by the fleet. An additional 20,000 are dispatched to Scandinavia to help in fighting there. The British, Burgundian and potentially French force enter Germany south west of the Rhine and are ordered to advance south up the river largely along the western river bank with the goal of putting some distance between German troops and Burgundy. New skirmishers are included in forces. The Industrial revolution is really starting as more factories are set up with population growth. Sir Humphry Davy announces his discovery of the Davy lamp as a coal mining safety lamp. William Prout anonymously publishes his hypothesis that the atomic weight of every element is an integer multiple of that of hydrogen. England has 9.8 million people and inside of that London has a population of 0.8 million, Wales has 0.8 million, Ireland has six million people and Scotland 1.8 million.
    • British Indian States: The updating of forces is likely to be finished this year which gives the East India company a very large force indirectly at their disposal. Taxes continue to be raised largely by tax farmers to pay for the army. Trade with Britain grows obviously since there is no other trade. The East India company are pretty content to simply take agricultural produce as taxes to pay for the army and the trading and such makes them a profit.
    • Kingdom of Avalon and Iroquois: The Kingdom of Iroquois expands 50 px west from Henry's land into OTL Kentucky and Ohio. Migration of those struggling due to industrialisation continues. There is an exploding amount of population with immigration, high birth rates and vast amounts of undiscovered land. The Kingdom of Iroquois has a mixed opinion on the Kingdom of Savannah. The population of Avalon is 1.3 million and Iroquois has 3.2 million.
    • The General Assembly of France votes against war.
    • The Kingdom of Burgundy declares war alongside the British.
  • Mehican empire: Our emperor readies his army into Panama and arrests it leaders stating their actions are illigal and against their own laws and treaties of governance. The cotton gin also begins to be use more widly spread with most to Tejas and Novo Tejas Using it and farmers in those region using it as their main export. The regions they export to being Panama and the Salish,The cotton is also used in military uniforms and as normal clothing for the nobles and middle class. Our General Geronimo begins to write a book about naval tactics and the importance of a big navy. With it he also makes a naval flag for the Mehican navy. Geronimo also thinks that the navy should be split in three cores and two regions, the cores being military, supply and exploration, with the regions being the Pacific and Atlantic Oceans.
  • Papal States: The government and the Conclave is shocked and confused by Napoleon's sudden turning on the Papacy. Having come to enjoy friendly relations with the late great Pope Henry, who recognised Napoleon's imperial titles and praised him for his protection of the Jews and gypsies, it is quite distressing that the Emperor would so swiftly change his position. The Conclave essentially tells Napoleon to go bugger himself, and they elect the Ecumenical Patriarch who takes the name Michael II. The leader of the Parlamento gives homage to the new Pope. The Papal Army is mobilised to fight Napoleon in concert with the Belkans.
    • Hawaiian Diplomacy: The Catholic community of Hawaii makes a request to the Pope asking that the Apostolic Vicariate of Hawaii and Polynesia be elevated to a formal diocese led by a Bishop of Honolulu. Additionally it is asked that an Apostolic Vicariate of Polynesia, Apostolic Prefecture of Hema Pae 'Aina, Apostolic Prefecture of Tonga, and Mission sui iuris of Angu-Zia be either created or made subject to this new ecclesiastical province.
  • Kingdom of Savannah: As we continue to develop our infrastructure further, our manpower also increases slightly. John Wallace continues handling and managing to train recruits and military force. In the meantime, more ships are constructed with 20 more ordered to be built. Cotton Plantations are expanded and with that, more cotton is able to be distributed for international trade with most going to Our European Trade Partners and Great Britain. Following the conference held in New London and seeing it as a successful meeting, another request is dispatched to perhaps hold meeting annually to support and provide more efficiency in resolving similar issues as overall, our nations are very similar to one another when it comes to economic and financial standings (MOD Response). Pino's works of literature that have been imported in secret begins to impact and alter the Charleston Times news source and begins to now publish papers that propose unity with our Arcadian Neighbor to the north. These imported and hard to find books are spreaded though across household in New London and acll the way north to Roanoke. Settlements and towns are built across the newly captured lands which begin to house more immigrants as our immigration policies push to become more favorable for foriegners from Europe and more. We expand 50 px west. Small trading docks are made across the Missisippii River and steamships begin to be built across the area for small yet growing river communities. More ports are opened creating thriving sea town communities.
    • The Kingdom of Iroquois agrees.

1816

Napoleon is greatly disappointed that the Conclave elected the Ecumenical Patriarch instead of someone more in the mold of Pope Henry.

As Belka is now at war with Germany, Napoleon asks his wife's Egypt to declare war on Belka and also asks the Arabs to join.

  • Maghreb: Coastal irrigation is upgraded, with the updating of fig, grape, millet and date farming. We continue to trade with the Swazi states, considering the earlier deal a success. We create a unit of 1000 infantry troops equivalent of the Janissaries class, 100 sailors, 100 archers and 250 cavalry troops equivalent of the Mamluk classes. They are split in to four units - one in Tripoli, one in Tunis, one in Oran and one in Rabat. We reassure the tribes around Tuat of our protection and send ten Janissary-type troops their. We make 20 cannons and one Man-of-war class ship They all go to protect Tunis. Two merchant and navy caravels are built. The navy caravels will help defend Casablanca. Three new forts are built, they are in Tripoli, Fez and Oran. Our fishing fleet expands and many dhows are built. We explore a 10 px long and 2 px wide strip down the southern coast (OTL W. Sahara\Mauritania coastline zone). We go neutral on European issues.
    • Maghreb Dip: We would like to open diplomatic relations with Belka (Belkan player decide). We would like to open diplomatic relations with Benin, Iberia, Rashdun, Egypt and that small green state that occupies the island of Sicily and southern Italy (mod decide). We offer a trade deal to Benin - our figs, dates, swords and grapes for your ivory, leopard skins and exotic fruit (mod decide).
  • Mehican Empire: Our emperor invites the Salish to join A liga de proteção de Cēmānāhuac as a voting member. Where the league is there to defend all nations in Cēmānāhuac from foreign aggression of all sorts, military, economic and cultural aggression. At the same time also promoting peace between all member states. Our emperor also announces that he will clean internal borders and make the states into Governates with an appointed governor. Who is appointed by the emperor or the cabinet of his advisors. These reforms are made to make the state more centralised and easier to tax and raise an army for. Our Army also makes it so that territories can only have armies of vollentering men who will be trained as professionals while states can have that if needed men can be conscripted into the army to defend their country. Our army also wins the fight against the Panamanian rebellion. (Algo) Our Emperor appoints their first governor and abolishes their old national assembly. And replaces it with an appointed Duma which is a body of ministers ruling over each governate meaning this is also for all other states.
  • Belkan Federation: Seeing the situation further turn and boil about as the joining of multiple western nations brings a true organizational structure to the 2nd Coalition, The Belkan armies remain in their current objectives and the Lombardian army is removed from coalition control and placed directly inside Savoy in order to prevent supplies and reinforcements from heading to Napoleons Italian expedition. Napoleon's expedition is also cordially sealed off by fortifications effectively trapping him from just a few kilometers north of Rome down to Naples with much of the sea lanes in between patrolled heavily by the Belkan navy. With the Italian front going well, the Belkan forces practically overrun Austria and take Vienna in short order, beginning to formulate the Austrian Confederation using the Belkans constitutional federal model over Napoleons undeveloped and unrefined revolutionary model. Another potential model is offered to the Prussians with the papers on Belkan Constitutional monarchy being granted over to the Prussians to influence their rebelling factions toward a more liberal government while still maintaining Prussia's military prowess much like Belka's situation. The German campaign with the conclusion of the Austrian phase leaves generals rather puzzled as the Armies faced in Austria are nothing like the Armies which they saw thrashing much of Europe beforehand. Refusing to give any reprieve the Belkan armies begin a second invasion toward Prussia fully intending on fully re-establishing Prussian independence and bringing a powerful and competent Prussian army and state back into existence. With this in mind, the invasion begins as nearly 200,000 troops move toward Berlin, while the remainder made of 200,000 Belkans and 100,000 Czechs push west in an attempt to break out and reach the coastal mouth of the Elbe river with Dresden and Wittenberg falling after some dynamic but fruitless fighting by German Forces. It begins to be assumed that the majority of the German forces are in Italy or in Western Europe fighting the British and Burgundian armies. This begin to lead to a possible draw down as the Belkan forces catching wind of an Arab or Egyptian intervention, begin preparing for their own offensive hoping to use superior technology and strategy to fight them. The spreading out of the war though does leave the Vozdh in a precarious situation as he does begin to consider the lack of troops at home if he carries out this next operation but he authorizes the buildup anyways.
  • France: King Louis, age 14 and very angry at his father, orders the immediate execution of the former King (his father) after a dissatisfying argument with him. His mother would be imprisoned, with only his older brother, Pierre, who is 16, not facing any consequences due to their established brotherhood and friendship. Having no pre-existing knowledge about politics, Louis begins to sign almost any bill proposed by the General Assembly, pleasing many and ending any political unrest for the moment. The current population is 30 million. The French Royal Army is settled at 200,000, with most of the soldiers being able-bodied men aged 18-25. The French East Indies Company, having become majorly defunct following large scandals and political corruption, is politically disbanded and re-established as an external, organized territory of France, with Charles Bonaparte, second cousin to Napoleon and politician, becoming the leading governmental figure of French Indonesia.
  • France is missing a large and populous region. Your population is at best 20-23 million. -Feud
  • 'Brésil:' Emperor Alexandre sends ambassadors to the United Kingdom of England and Ireland, the Kingdom of Burgundy, Germany, and the Belkan Federation in an attempt to lay the foundations for some form of communications with the major European powers. Progress continues on the capital project in Saint-Denis with most of the buildings around the plaza close to being finished up. Colonization continues; in the north it is mainly focused on rivers, in the south the savanna continues to be settled. Emperor Alexandre disapproves of the decision of Mehican government, and secretly provides asylum to the representatives that visited last year when their country was invaded and invites other government officials to secretly come to Brésil. Temporary tariff rates continue to reduce the impact of the recession. With the project finishing, Alexandre is able to take off some money from it, and put it toward the "Strait of Bonapaart" Expedition. Three small ships from the navy are loaded with supplies and some settlers and sail to the strait. After arrival everything is unloaded and a fort is built relatively at the mouth of the strait. The colonists declare it Fort-Lauwen and claim the entire island for Brésil. During the first year of the settlement, the colonists mainly focus on defensive fortifications to defend themselves from the locals. With a larger army and more influence, Emperor Alexandre sends representatives to the Argentine government requesting that they remove their claims of OTL Paraguay in exchange for removal of tariffs on Argentine goods and a truce of fourteen years (mod response).
    • The Argentine state agrees.
  • United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland: The Allied forces continue to push south up the Rhine against German forces. Sounds like bad news the Arabs are fighting with the Germans. The navy blocks Germany from getting past the channel while a force is dispatched to India in case things go poorly with the Arabs. Rev. Robert Stirling obtains a patent in the United Kingdom for the Stirling hot air engine. Simeon North in New England produces a practicable milling machine for working metal. England has 9.8 million people and inside of that London has a population of 0.8 million, Wales has 0.8 million, Ireland has 6.0 million people and Scotland 1.8 million.
    • British Indian States: The new forces created by the British East India Company and incorporating recruits raised from South India. This forces is funded by the East India Company revenues. India is left alone mostly with only trade interactions and taxation.
  • Swahili: We continue colonial expansion in Northern Somalia, in the South and in the Malindi and Mombassa area. Colonisation steadily increases as medicine and weaponry become more widespread. The Swahili Military Academy is officially recognized by the Sultan and becomes a part of the Swahili Army. With cultural and technological exchanges, the Swahili Military Academy trains the first modern European style army of Swahili, fit with Grenadiers, Hussars and Artillery using Grapeshot. Industrialisation begins in the North following the adoption of more tools and mechanical technology, as well as higher wages for workers due to the population loss in the civil war. Meanwhile, the post-war baby boom continues. We agree to the trade deals with Swazi States and Maghreb. With tensions brewing in Europe and the Middle East, the Swahili Navy is sent to patrol the Indian Ocean and Eastern Atlantic Coastlines. Funding moves into the navy and new Ships of the Line are being developed.
    • Sefuwa: The colony of Sefuwa continues development.
    • Huriya: Political integration begins with Swahili bureaucrats being sent to oversee some political processes.
    • Rowzi: Political integration begins with Swahili bureaucrats being sent to oversee some political processes.
    • Swahili Diplomacy: We ask to buy the African holdings of Bread Iberia.
    • Bread Iberia rejects.
  • Ethiopian Empire: Joshua dies of a freak hunting accident. His nephew Dawit II is crowned emperor hours later. While he keeps most of the reforms of his uncle, he does recall the commanders of both of the fleets and all the regimental commanders. Dawit discusses how now could be a great time to take back some of Sudan while Egypt is busy with Europeans. All non essential males are called to their local churches to be equipped with rifles for the possible assault on our northern neighbors. Merchant ships in the red sea are recalled and are equipped with anywhere from 12 to 24 more cannons. The best shots of the newly raised militia are integrated into the Imperial guard regiments for the moments, swelling the guard to 150,000. The red sea fleet is prepped to take 10,000 men on a hastily assault on Mogran. While the half the militia and the 70,000 Guards members take the Eastern side of the Nile to support the assault. The size of the force totaling 240,000 with the rest of the troops being kept in reserve similar to the European model. Dawit commissions more roads to be built around the empire especially due to the new colonies in the south being used for farming. He also envisions a great postal system for a safe way to transfer mail.
  • Kingdom of Savannah: as the first conventions are held in New London Parliament Building, Common issues are found throughout the room abroad discussed and found quite important. In the end, many men became acquainted nicely and plan to meet again next year. In the meantime, 23 ships are built and advisors are sent to Avalon for further talks. 8000 men join the military in both conscripted numbers or signed up. 1/10 is dispatched into the militia unit as native Americans and other disturbance can be found in the newly claimed lands. We expand 50 px west. More ports create greater levels of economic growth and I'm migration rises in these hotspots of wealth. In the meantime, birthrates sky rocket into exponential proportions. John Wallace continues to assist the state as a General and finds an interest in Parliament. Due to Pino's literature works becoming more prevalent to the masses through secret trafficking, some books make it to Parliament officials with the big eight scrapping their ideas for a new form of monarchy to a unified republic. Small hints of Propaganda are found in the Charleston Times for Pan Arcadia standards as well. Besides that, as this only spreads to just the average people and select officials. Besides this, economic growth and loyalty to the United Kingdom still exist, goods and cash crops are given to gain value and economic growth for farmlands which begin to be made into plantations. Town shops become greatly prevelant as well.

1817

Napoleon stuns the Belkan and Papal forces in Italy, engaging them in a battle close the Adriatic Sea. He literally drives them into the sea, overwhelming them with his cavalry and outflanking them on both sides. This battle proves decisive as it opens the way for him to move north along the sea, reaching Venice. As he lays siege to Venice, his Marshals continue the fight in Germany.

The Iberian Navy crosses the Mediterranean to face the Belkans and disrupt their control over their area of the sea. The Iberians are joined by Egyptians in an invasion of Greece.

With Austria overrun by Belkans and Prussia in revolt again, the Marshals decide to take the fight to Belka by invading Bohemia, taking Prague.

Denmark is invaded by the Germans to pre-empt Scandinavia joining the coalition. Although they do join anyway, the German occupation of Denmark weakens Scandinavia and allows Germany to exert naval control in the Kattegat.

The Germans are spreading themselves too thin, this allows the British and their allies to go deep into western Germany. As such, Napoleon asks the General Assembly of France to join him.

  • Belkan Federation: While this battle near the Adriatic is considered Decisive, the Belkan armies remain steadfast as while casualties were relatively heavy the Army remains combat effective and the units lost in the Battle of Ancona. While a devastating battle, the majority of the casualties remain in the ranks of the newer recruits and the Papal forces rather than Belka's elite and veteran regiments. Seeing as Napoleon achieved victory by nothing less than a miracle it is decided that Belka will bleed Napoleon and by extension Germany dry. The Belkan army seeing venice under siege bypasses and refuses to give engagement instead reinforcing and resupplying at the massive Fortress at Trieste. Trieste itself is also fortified beyond belief and with little to no room for maneuver by Napoleon the entire front is fortified with forts, trenches, cannon emplacements, and overlapping fields of Fire. The Belkan Reserve army is also put on hold on their mission to Egypt as they are instead sent directly to the Front line in Germany reinforcing roughly 80,000 Czech troops just outside Prague covering the evacuation of thousands of Civilians. Howeve,r something surprising has happened as the Czechs, fanatic in their resistance to yet another German occupation see men wielding pitchforks, dated muskets, older military veterans, boys as young as 13, all reinforcing the 80,000 strong force outside Prague bringing the direct manpower of Czech forces to nearly 120,000 which officially becomes known as the Czechian Peoples Army. While a good chunk of the military remains professional, the integration of so many volunteers and militia concerns the Czech general in charge who after consulting with his Belkan compatriot agrees that the retaking of Prague must be done swiftly and with no delay. The Arrival of the Belkan Reserve armies brings a new strategy to bear, the mass assault on Prague and the overwhelming of the martial armies. With nearly 320,000 men to bear, the joing Belko-Czech army leads a massive and sudden assault on Prague with overwhelming power locking down the German army here. The Militia is used as a massive human wave backed up heavily with artillery and then followed up by a concentrated assault by the professional armies. Prague is fully expected to fall back into Coalition hands shortly. With the liberation of both Austria and Prussia now at hand the Belkans using their huge industrial superiority are able to arm almost 300,000 men from the re-risen countries splitting the armies evenly allowing for 150,000 men from both Austria and Prussia to be formed around the mass infantry tactics developed in Belka. However, seeing Napoleon's expert use of cavalry, strategies and tactics seen at the Battle of Ancona begin to be integrated and the Austrians and Prussians are now given full executive control of their nations once again which effectively cuts out nearly 13 million Germans from Napoleons Germanic nation which will effectively leave him struggling to come to terms with his massive cut in manpower. However, recognizing Prussia is not fully secure, the Belkan forces in Prussia seize Berlin granting it back to a Hohenzollern who they now begin to help regain total control of his country minus the parts currently in Russian hands declaring it "a fight for another day". The Belkan armies remaining in German push out from the reformed Austria and Prussia with the main Czech Army returning home and nearly 200,000 Belkan troops heading south to aid in the direct fight against Napoleon. However, with Napoleon distracted, and the Lombardians rather unconcerned with a siege that just ties up Napoleons forces, they move on Savoy pushing heavily on the Piedmont region. While the news of a disastrous defeat near the Adriatic is heard, the Belkan people and the general assembly all agree that this is no longer a war against Europe's scourge, but in reality a war against a man whi wishes to alter Europe permanently and bring subservience to a pope selected entirely by himself. The people and the Supreme Soviet agree in almost overwhelming numbers. Belka will use every man, woman and child to bring Napoleon to his knees. All our blood, treasure, and military prowess will be brought to bear on any who opposes this man who disrupts the natural order of Europe. With more and more men coming of age every year the Belkan manpower pool is full. While not able to arm the amount of men available more and more are trained, ready to join the conflict as reinforcements at a moments notice. The Belkan military is streamlined to allow for logistics to catch up and bring soldiers to the front lines. The Advent of Industrialization now in warfare brings the Belkan troops all with much of their equipment early and a strict training schedule is put into effect with enough arms and cannons being regimented away for the use of Training classes of 50,000 which are alternated in order to maximize effect, Every six months an estimated 200,000 men are brought up to speed to fight in the upcoming war and regiments are called up as needed. The Naval war is a more open and shut case as the Belkan navy being the most powerful naval force in the Med takes the seas by storm denying supply routes, and denying a congregation of the enemies armed forces. The Largest fleet, named the Fleet of Divine Right sits poised to Engage any Savoyard or French fleet (specifically if they join the war) consists of 45 ships and heavily patrol the coasts at the ready for a major naval engagement. With so many warships prowling about the obvious forces clash between Iberia and Belka on the seas with rather inconclusive results. However, a successful marine invasion puts Malta firmly in Belkan Hands. The entrance of Arabia into the war prompts one response. Deus Vult. The Belkan forces all across the the nation including reservists are called up. the 200,000 man Reserve Army is returned from Prague in the middle of the assault confident the Czechs can finish and the 200,000 strong army in Prussia is also recalled using the Austrian highway system to transport. In short order the Arabian army is met at Vasiligrad with nearly 700,000 men which in tandem with the Belkan squadron in the Aegean begin firing shore batteries and engaging in clear cut massacre of a naval conflict of the Arabian troops. Belka requests Russia's entrance calling in our long standing alliance against the Islamic states. (mod plz)
  • Papal States: The crushing defeat at the hands of Napoleonic forces stuns the Papal elites and many important members of the Curia and Parlamento flee Rome. Pope Michael II remains, however, and holds a solemn Mass for deliverance from persecution, whilst in the streets, seminarians from Laurentia carry an icon of Our Lady of Pituba in procession throughout the city. The following day, news arrives that the Napoleonic forces have moved Northward. Many see this as a miracle, and flock to the small chapel devoted to Our Lady of Pituba. Meanwhile the remnants of the Papal forces assist their Belkan allies as much as they can, and local militias are raised by the municipal councils. Missions continue. Due to the disruption in Europe, Pope Michael II states that the Ecumenical Council scheduled for 1815 in Berlin will be postponed until the end of the conflict.
    • Belkan Dip: Belka offers to sell the Papal state massive amounts arms to bring the Papal state fully into this war, Belkas Vozdh its people and the Pope are brothers in religious arms against the interevention of a Heretic and Bigot who used his army to influence the imposition of his own papal candidate to take the guiding hand of christ. This is an outrage of the highest order and Belka a country of near zealous religous practice refuses to see the process disrupted. Deus Vult brothers of the Cross. Belka stands with you until the end bring this tyrant down with us.
  • Hawaii: We continue expanding across the Pacific, trading and settling our various conquered or colonized possessions, especially Tonga, and other islands in the far southwest. Another request is sent to the Papal States regarding elevating the Apostolic Vicariate to a diocese, but seeing as the Pope is likely distracted with the war in his own borders, the delay is understandable. The influx of immigrants from countries in Laurentia/Arcadia, Europe, and Asia, many of whom wishing to take part in the valuable sandalwood trade or other cash crop enterprises, leads to plantations springing up across the country. As such the king passes a series of new laws, which collectively become known as the "Great Māhele", in which land is divided and allotted to native Hawaiians in particular. Essentially, no one company/proprietor, especially foreign, is able to own a majority or even major portion of any of the islands. The available land instead is granted equally to each class of society of native Hawaiians; one-third to the monarch, which becomes part of the Hawaiian crownlands, one-third to the nobility, and one-third to the people.
  • Mehican Empire: Our army in Panama begins the reconstruction of infrastructure and the making of a road that goes from the old Mehican 1789 border to the Panamanian Capital and other cities to make the supply and trade to these cities better and easier to monitor dangerous goods. The Army in Panama begins also to train new members for the infantry. So that they can become fully part of Mehico. Our teachers are also advised to teach in Portuguese and the regional language first and then afterward in Nahuatl as a language of politics. Marcos Hugo Leite Cruz: Founds in Lucentum the United Polynesian trading company (Empresa de comércio polinésia unida/ECPU) this is a company that will try to profit from the trade in Polynesia. The company is allowed to build their own ships and have their own soldiers to defend their colonies and trade but they have to follow some basic Mehican laws and tradition. Pino writes about the victory in Panama and this company saying the company may be good but he does not trust their full independent attitude they have and he believes some royal influence should be with this.
  • France: After another vote in the General Assembly, France will not be joining the Napoleon front nor the Coalition, due to the massive losses in territory that France had suffered following the Seven Year's War and not wanting a repeating of what occurred. French Indonesia, having been chaotically decentralized during the former King's reign, slowly becomes more centralized following Charles Bonaparte's passing of numerous different laws meant to unite the differential citizens of Indonesia into more of a cohesive and unified group, regardless of differing traditions. Envoys are sent to the Kingdom of Kongo as a means of trading whatever is seen as exotic there for France's old military technology, knowing that they probably won't know the difference from France's current and their older. The Human Zoo, after King Louis stumbles upon it one night, is torn down, with the Human's being respectively held in prison as a means of not allowing the proper violations of human rights that occurred be seen by the public. With private organizations buying industrial technology from private organizations in Great Britain, France begins to slowly become industrialized around the Loire river, with the first coal mines opening up near the Loire river source following the establishment of Nantes's first large-scale textile factory.
  • Mahgreb: We create four units of 25 dragoon-type troops and four units of 100 infantry. They go to Oran, Fez, Rabat and El-Aaiún. 150 sailors are recruited and three military and civil caravels are built. The military ship go to defend Agadir. Coastal and riverside irrigation is improved and Islamic schools in the big cities. We pull out of the previously claim 10 pixel by 2 px by 10 px coastal strip. A new fort is built in Rabat and El-Aaiún.
    • Mahgreb quits
  • Siam: A Buddhist stupa temple is built in Bangkok and 100 troops are called up.
    • Siam: We leave the game.
  • Ethiopian Empire: The attack on Mogran is commenced. The Nile Fleet lands the troops at the confluence of the White and Blue and and quickly that the city in a surprise attack from the river. Simultaneously the attack into Eastern Egypt by land forces close to the Nile taking villages around the Nile and pushing into the dessert slowly. The Red Sea Fleet begins to capture Egyptian ships in the Red Sea and send them back to Adulis to be scrapped, some are kept for the next great campaign. Another 100,000 troops are sent to Mogran and cross to the western side of Egypt also remaining close to the Nile. Mogran is turned into a military resupply point with barges of supplies running in and out of the city. A young Cavalry leader by the name of Yonas Abel proves himself by galloping his force 15 miles in a day almost out running the support of the Nile fleet. By the end of the first Campaign we are within striking distance of Asswan, a little dock is built where Lake Nasser gets to its most narrow point for resupply purposes.. The great road system is improved in conquered territories and natural Copts begin to flock to recruitment post, blustering forces by 50,000 which are sent to support the troops in Western Egypt. Dawit begins to draw out the plans for another Campaign and the postal system of the empire.
    • You did not conduct an algorithm for this. -s
  • Sicily: The nation's government and military is on high alert upon receiving news of the warfare occurring in northern Italy. Initially the Sicilians are cautious and defensive, reluctant to start a war since the earlier Italian-Sicilian conflict. But this changes with the Battle of the Adriatic, when it appears that the Papal States is clearly weakened. As such we decide to declare war, invading the Papal States to at least reclaim our former territory, if not much of southern Italy. The invasion is independent of the larger Napoleonic Wars, the government claims, as not to incur the wrath of any nearby powers who might be at war with Germany. Specifically the nation hopes to maintain good relations with Belka and Iberia. The conflict gives the country a good chance also to modernize and learn new techniques for war.
  • Brésil: Colonization of the savannahs and rivers of the Amazon continue, and after the deal with the Argentine government, the Land Ordinance officially is re-issued over Paraguay, causing many Brésilians to flood the area. Gachet claims more land up the Amazon River which conflicts with the Grand Panaman claims, but the area is only populated by natives at the moment, so it does not cause any conflict. The settlement to the south slowly expands. Natives attack the fort during the first year, but are quickly repulsed by the guns of the settlers. When news of the settlement being successful finally returns to Gachet he decides to name the island "Nicollier Île" after the second Grand Deputy of the Empire. In his final year in office, Gachet attempts to push for a constitutional amendment for the Grand Parlement. He writes the book, "Examen Sur la Justice" in an attempt to swing the approval of the assembly and the Emperor. After another vote is held, and it is again unsuccessful, Gachet calls for an emergency assembly meeting, becoming the first Grand Deputy to do so. Gachet invites the Emperor to the meeting as well. At the meeting he gives a long speech telling everyone about the importance of three equal branches of government, and how at the moment the Judicial Branch is much weaker which leaves the people vulnerable. He tells them to stop being selfish, and that no one will leave the meeting until a compromise is made. After hours of deliberation and past the sunset, a compromise is finally reached. A constitutional amendment for the Grand Parlement. The amendment says it can no longer be dissolved, and that judges will serve for life or until retirement. The court remains at eleven justices. Everytime there is a vacany, the assembly will give a list to the Emperor and he will choose someone from that list. As a compromise the Emperor constitutionally gains the right to appoint ambassadors and imperial minsters without consent of the assembly, and the assembly has more control over the administration of the army. The Parlement officially gains right of "judicial review". Gachet leaves the assembly and declares victory. For the rest of the year, Gachet is less poltically active and goes on a state trip to Burgundian Laurentia to discuss relations.
  • Kingdom of Arabia-Persia: With war preparations finalized, the National Assembly answers the call of Napaleon after his wife Queen Fawzia invades Greece by declaring war upon the Belkan Federation. "It is time for the age of Belkan domination over Turkey and Eastern Europe to end in bloodshed, and a new age to arise, the age of Arabia-Persia shall be forged, we shall have our vengeance, and in our vengeance, our victory, as Belka has sworn to destroy Napoleon, we swear to destroy Belka." With the declaration of war, 700,000 soldiers are raised and march through Osman Osman's unorganized territory of Rum, lead by Sultan Abdul Hamid and General Fathi Zulfiqar Najm. The General splits from the Sultan's Army, invading Belkan Ionia, particularly Izmir with 200,000 troops while the Sultan invades Vasilgrad with a total of 500,000 soldiers, hellbent on conquering the capital city. Upon arriving to Valisgrad, the Sultan proclaims "Belka's pearl, the gateway to Europe, shall be mine." Simultaneously, a fleet of 1000 ships lead by Admiral Ackbar are raised and sent to assist the invasion of Vasilgrad.
  • )Egypt: With the war virtually engulfing every sector of life, and Egypt once again surrounded by hostile enemy powers, the Sultanate is placed under a War Council, headed by Muhammed Ali. In order to protect the Upper Egypt Basin, the Navy, headed by Admiral Ismail Al-Ihlily, establishes a blockade to repel the impending Ethiopian Forces. In hindsight and fear of an Ethiopian attack, am immediate fortification of cities and Ports across the Nile is ordered. In a matter of days, an army of up to 150,000 soldiers is raised and divided into three divisions. Each regiment consists of 50,000 men assigned to West, East and South of the Nile, entrenching their positions prepared from an Ethiopian Offence. A counter-offensive strike reinforced by artillery unit is of up to 10,000 is planned and is to be executed by the end of the year, in attempt to conquest the Blue and White Nile. The War has a profound effect on the population, with Amharic settlements ransacked and destroyed in pogrom like events. The Coptic population is assaulted and menaced throughout the country. As per the control of the War Council, a strict conscription program is introduced, promising those who willingly volounter immediate rewards following the wars conclusion. Before setting sail for Greece, Muhammed Ali is recalled to have proclaimed in front of an audience of thousands in Cairo, "Fellow soldiers and men, I call upon you all to join our most righteous of causes, to defeat your oppressors and those who have tormented this once glorious Sultanate since its inception." Upon seeing the distraction of the Belkan fleet, patrolling for French and Sayoard ships, a surprise attack is initiated. Princess Fatima dies, leaving Fawzia heirless and a result falls into a solitary depression+. Napoleon is alerted on his daughter's death. A request for military access is sent to the Kingdom of Arabia-Persia
  • For one you cant just transport 300,000 men in contested waters. I also did not commit my entire fleet to the Italian stuff and you also have to get through what is still there which is significant. After that you're also contending with more than double your manpower. No way you can reach me in that short of order. -Feud
  • Cheers, I’ll change that.- Franz
  • United Kingdom of Great Britain: So the war has escalated, that's big news. Loans are extended to Belka, Papal States and Scandinavia to fight the war in addition to buying British arms and France to keep it stable and neutral. Seeing Belka and the Papal States take a beating. British and Burgundian forces continuing fighting in the west of Germany to drive them east of the Rhine and establish a security buffer. The British navy heads into the Kattegat with orders to attack any German ships in Copenhagen and destroy them to maintain British naval supremacy. Combined with Scandinavian forces attempting to re-take Denmark, British forces land at Hirtshals to start fighting in Denmark. Gibraltar is still held by the British but it doesn't play a role so as not to antagonise the Iberians. British forces in India combined with East India Company Sepoys attack the Kingdom of the Arabs as it enters the war. They begin by landing 10,000 Sepoys at Aden peninsula and then moving to seize Perim Island and raiding the Indian Ocean and Red Sea coast of the Arabs even shelling towns such as Jeddah with the British navy. If Aden and Perim fall both are heavily fortified by the Sepoys to defend against the counterattack. This should take pressure of Belka. This new war leads to a boom in the economy with war profiteering and manufacturing.
  • Kingdom of Savannah: As the war gets hot, we decide to distance ourselves from the British as it seems as a priority to not intervene in such a situation which the Kingdom of Iroquois agrees upon at our latest assembly. We and Iroquois together condone such harsh actions and involvement on the European mainland as well. In the meantime as good support from return of Avalonian Representatives and such, we stick on good terms with them. We and the Kingdom of Iroquois draft an invitation into the New London Conferences. In the meantime, immigration rates boom due to wartime issues in Great Britain and overcrowding of farmlands. Many seek prosperity and it is offered. 4000 more troops join into our personal military and arms forces. Cavalry training is made near the beaches and assisted by Wallace. Pino's writings become more spread throughout the land faster then before and the idea of national unity spurs up even further in Arcadia with secret shipments making it's way up north through an underground merchant line. Plantations are expanded upon within new Savannah lands as we expand 50 px west into the Ozarks and OTL Oklahoma. More representatives are sent to Mehico to continue the support of better relations. Steamships are put into good use across the Mississippi river and 23 are ordered to be built on the coast for personal defensive measures as well. The population rises to near 3.7 million with new open immigration policies enacted and birthrates sky rocketing.
    • OOC Person: You don't suddenly control the Kingdom of Iroquois nor Avalon. It is not your decision whether Iroquois intervenes (they won't but this is a precedent). You made some conference not a union.

1818

In the north, the Germans introduce their first steamships, having spent many years working on them. The Scandinavians are utterly destroyed and even the British are defeated at sea for once. This eases up pressure in the region as the Germans are able to break the British blockade and force British coalition troops back north.

This also allows more troops to be diverted into the fight against Belka. Napoleon himself is able to take Venice through the introduction of his new cannons. Although Venice falls, it is greatly destroyed and practically ungovernable. Napoleon decides to leave the city and move on Austria as fast as he can to join up with his forces trying to leave Bohemia.

  • Belkan Federation: The reconquest of Prague becomes a massive morale boost as with the Assistance of the Belkans the initial assault allows for a breakthrough for the Czech forces who not only retake the city but begin to chase the Germans out of Czechia. This given chase leads to the Czech army outside of Czechia to converge on the German armies attempting to leave catching them in a pincer movement effectively forcing them to give battle. While this is going on, the Belkan armies force a reorganization as upwars of 600,000 Belkan troops are repositioned back within Austria and advance past Venice to catch Napoleon with the main veteran Belkan army enclosing from yet another side in Austria forcing Napoleon to give battle inside of Austria. The entrance of the Arabs puts a strain on the Belkan armed forces as there are only 200,000 troops at this given time to ferry across to Ionia with the Belkan forces fortifying Nicaea and withdrawing the 50,000 remaining Greek troops to Nicaea as well. To make for supplies and transportation easier the corps of engineers builds multiple military bridges across the Bosporus which would also allow for a quick and concise evacuation and ships are put on station to protect the bridge, and then destroy it should the Arabs wipe out Ionia. The battle is slated as a defensive engagement as the Belkan forces remain outnumbered but strategically superior in the locality. This does not, however, deter the Belkan navy from conducting sorties bringing Acre, and Jaffa within cannon range. The Arabian ships that come out to challenge are noticeably inferior to the Belkan Men of War and higher ships of the line which make short work of the defensive fleets of Acre and Jaffa. The cities are consequently bombarded with no attention paid to civilian casualties with this seeking to prove a lesson to the Arabs. Seeing the British extending loans the Belkans accept and begins to pay out massive amounts of loan money toward shipbuilding hoping to bring the Belkan navy into a position where it may stand on par with the British navy and act accordingly alongside its ally. Almost 50 ship keels are laid down this year with 12 of these ships being massive 108 gun ships of the line and the rest of varying sizes but none below a frigate. With Lombardia more or less losing one of its largest cities the Italians of Lombardia go absolutely insane with commanders ordering "equal punishment" for anything they can get their hands on that is even remotely related or allied to Napoleon. This leads to the obliteration of dozens of towns and a massive no consequence Bombardment of Savoy followed by the beginnings of a brutal and terrifying Siege.
  • Ndongo: We leave the game.
The reallocation of land in the main islands instituted the year prior proves to be a success, with many more native Hawaiians of non-aristocratic backgrounds becoming property owners or capitalists. The king has a new constitution drafted meant to reform the existing assembly and governance of the kingdom. First, the legislative assembly is divided into a bicameral system; the existing House of Nobles, and a House of Representatives. The second house is limited to male Hawaiians who meet a certain property requirement and other specifications. They are to be elected, with voters becoming eligible after passing a literacy test and meeting a property requirement. The new changes are added to the pre-existing bill of rights and made into law. In addition a new capitol building begins construction in Honolulu.
  • Mehican Empire: Our emperor adopts English as one of the three official languages of the Empire with it having secondary status after Nahuatl and Portuguese except for Novo Tejas and Baricano. This is done to promote trade with all English speaking countries. Our priests and bishops also ask the Papal states if the archbishop of Western-Arcadia can become under control of the Mehican Latin rite. The United Polynesian trading company (Empresa de comércio polinésia unida/ECPU) Lands on the General Geronimo islands (OTL Galapagos Islands) and begin to explore them and they set up their first harbour there to get a harbour closer to other Polynesian islands while still being in Mehico. This is done to still keep the official protection they have. Our Emperor Now openly gives support for the Kingdom of Savannah's actions and for their independence by sending military and economic advisors. General Geronimo even sends 35,000 professional soldiers to the savanahs to aid in their defense but he is ordered not to attack and keep British casualties low even if costing Mehican casualties. And to feed them well and treat them like men of honour. General Geronimo also begins to work on the navy committing to build 25 new modern big sailboats. To Improve the defenceability of Baricano and of the Mainland of Mehico. This he does to improve the trade also by making pirating less likely. Pino after some silence writes again about that he believes that Mehico should keep divine rights in lands so that the balance in the nation will not be changed .
  • Ethiopian Empire: The attack on Mogran (OTL Khartoum) was a strikings success not only destroying a considerable amount of enemy forces but leading to a secondary attack by a second army to cross the river. That was followed up by the destruction of two Egyptian regiments at Atbara. (Algo done on talk page.) With almost minimal casualties taken Ethiopian forces dig in for the reminder of the year, with almost all of the Sudan Nile acquired. A young regular force cavalryman named Yonas Abel rises to lead one of the battalions of imperial guard cavalry after cutting down half a company of Egyptians single-handedly. Recruitment post are set up for Copts and Amharic people in Sudan to join the advancing army. almost 50,000 sign up and are trained to be prepared for next year. Colonization to the south is going well with the farmers talking of good conditions for agriculture. The college of Axum is expanded to a new campus in Adidas Abba to help accommodate more pupils. Roads are worked on around the empire, postal routes a drawn up by Dawitt. Early power is being tinkered with at the College of Adulis.
  • Kingdom of Savannah: After further development within our national infrastructure is reached, at this year's conference we propose a plan to the Kingdom of Iroquois that would allow an economic union to be founded between our two states called the Arcadian Commerce Act. In the meantime, a letter is finally completely drafted and sent to the Kingdom of Avalon to invite them to our conferences which we have been successfully meeting in the past with several representatives and with the kingdom of Iroquois already taking part of the conferences in New London (Mod Response). Steam ships begin to continue to make its away into the Navy and we also push toward developing sea town communities even further.
  • Brésil: soon ...
Military professionalism is encouraged with the academy. Industrialisation begins in the North following the adoption of more tools and mechanical technology, as well as higher wages for workers due to the population loss in the civil war. Meanwhile, the post-war baby boom continues.
    • Swahili Diplomcy: We propose the Arab-Indian Pact with our allies of Bengal and Dravidia.
  • Japan: Many developments have taken place in the past 12 years. The Japanese (standardized) language has now become the language of the elite in Japan's overseas territories. Following infrastructure development in the Japanese Indonesian islands (including Papua), a bigger market for Japanese textile and other industries has emerged. In a similar manner, irrigation projects in the overseas territories has increased the production of rice and has made it available for export. Spice exports have increased. To cope with the labor demand for the industries in mainland Japan, labor from Indonesia is brought to Japan. A significant number of people have emigrated from Japan to the Japanese Pacific islands to take part in the trade of the commodities these islands produce. The Japanese Papuan territory grows. A National Postal Service has been set up by the Emperor under each of the Governorates.

1819

Napoleon and his troops are on the run back into Germany as the Belkans follow. Although there are a few minor battles, Napoleon is still able to keep his army intact and reunite with his marshals to create one unified forces force defense. The Austrian people remain loyal as he remains the symbol of the united Germany idea.

Meanwhile, in the north of Germany, the British are stalemated as the war on the seas continues.

  • Sicily: Having successfully captured much of the Papal States (with algo) with force them to cede us all our lost territory and southern Italy. From Pescara to Terracina, including those cities. From there we make peace and declare neutrality in all the remaining conflicts surrounding us, endorsing no one in the other wars. These captured areas are fortified and garrisoned, as is Naples, Sicily proper, and other key cities. We also begin building a larger navy.
  • United Kingdom of Great Britain and Ireland: While it is within the soverign government of Savannah's right, we do ask why are they allowing native and godless Mehican troops on their land? If the Kingdom of Savannah is worried about the threat from Napoleon it would make more sense for them to ask us for troops which we would be happy to provide. In Germany since a stalemate has developed, British and Burgundian troops are ordered to concentrate at Hanover and create a series of bastions around the city walls using both soldiers and Germans as workers in addition to improving the old city walls. Supplies are brought into the city. Further recruitment is done and the British Army stands at 200,000 men with 70,000 of them in Germany. The navy pulls back into the North Sea where it continues to fight the Germans and maintain the blockade because there is no way the Germans can get through the channel. In the middle east, British forces keep raiding Arabia on the red sea and Indian ocean. Loans continue to be extended to our allies who need them. England has 10.2 million people and inside of that London has a population of 0.8 million, Wales has 0.8 million, Ireland has 6.0 million people and Scotland 1.8 million.
    • East India Company: Some forces of the EIC continue to operate in the Indian Ocean fighting the Arabians. Everything else in the company is going good. Trade of goods continue with Britain.
The King writes to the governments of Avalon, Iroquois and Savannah asking why are they allowing godless natives with guns onto their lands. A lot of confusion about this in Britain but we are worried that certain people from Savannah maybe trying to sell out the general European Christian population of the Kingdoms of Savannah, Iroqoius and Avalon. Until such time as they leave the Prime Minister of the UK advises against any unification while dangerous Mehicans are involved. It is written by the Prime Minister that he is reliably informed that Mehica seeks to take over all of Arcadia. It is spread unofficially that some officials maybe in the pay of Mehica. The population of Avalon is 1.3 million and Iroquois has 3.2 million.
  • Hawaii: The nation continues expanding across the Pacific, trading and settling our various conquered or colonized possessions, especially Tonga, and other islands in the far southwest. We thank the pope for accepting our request to create a formal diocese in Honolulu. By this time almost all of OTL French Polynesia has been claimed or colonized by Hawaii and/or its protectorate states. Specifically, as far as Puka Puka, Tepoto, Napuka, and Fakahina, is claimed by Hawaii, as well as the islands/atolls south to Paraoa and Manuhangi. The eastern most islands of the region are made into the Kingdom of Rangiroa, with Tahitoe of the House of Tapoa, rulers of Bora Bora, becoming its first king. The recent reforms made by the Hawaiian king and his government go into effect, notably the naming convention laws and the restructuring of the legislature and other branches of the government.
  • Mehican Empire: Our Emperor openly denies the claim that he and his government wants to take over any. He Eventually sends a Personal letter to the British monarch saying this "I Carlos of Emperor of all Mehicans on this Planet which to inform you that We Mehicans Do not seek the conquering of lands as we are Catholics, but we do wish to liberate the lands of our culture and people. From the Aztecs to the Dene all should be in peace, with their Divine emperor and His Catholic God". Our Navy is Increased By 25 ships, making it 75 ships for the nation. So it can defend it coasts.United Polynesian trading company (Empresa de comércio polinésia unida/ECPU) begins to enlarge it first harbour and it begins also bring resources to the General Geronimo islands. And it is beginning to explore some other minor islands near the Mehican and Geroniman Coast
    • British Dip: Fake News. You call yourself the divine emperor how is that christian. You claim you do not desire to take over yet you claim dominion over all of Arcadia as Emperor. You claim you do not desire to take over yet you have 35,000 troops and are supporting rebellion through funding of extremists.
    • Mehican Diplomacy: Our Emperor has gotten his right by God to rule over the foreign Mehican Culture. Our Emperor is Himself not a native Mehican But a decendent from a landless Noble from the Lands Near the Po.And they see him as given power By the Great God In heaven. He also Doesn't claim all of arcadia ,he even refusses to use the name. He does want Cēmānāhuacan Government on the Cēmānāhuac Continent.
  • Kingdom of Savannah: In the latest of conferences following the kings reactions, parliament unifying agrees that what the Mehicans are doing is not wrong at all and have been granted permission by the government of Savannah. We also propose a plan to not allow any british interference in our government sphere and also The Military of Savannah move onto start protecting government centers. Support for Napoleon grows but remains insignificant. More steamships are opened as ports open up more across the coastlines and more immigrants come into these regions for better lives. We expand 50 px west. It is seen that also the british want to get involved further with us and our moves for Pan Arcadia ideals to help better our states and is brought up in New London. Militas increase in numbers to handle crime. Adam Lee notes that "If the British think that having unity is wrong, then how? It would help make us stronger. It would put us under one name under god. It would expand our reaches across Arcadia. It would lead to a more democratic society. It would surely help defend ourselves better. I see that they are trying to keep us weak! They are trying to hold us down for their own wants! We the British and Indians of this land can agree that this move is obviously false to help push their influence into parliament and discourage us when if the Mehicans were so much of a threat, would it not be better to stay strong as one? Would it not seem better to hold unity and equal care and respect for one another? Don't you see! it is becoming more and more clear that the king is not our friend but our enemy!" A moment of silent ensues the conference followed by applauds,Shocked and enlightened men, and many of which saying yes in the audiences of the conference. Following the meeting, diplomats are sent to across all 3 kingdoms to better our relations further and to ensure connections with one another and recommend them to build up militias to help handle "small town affairs" like we do ourselves if they find it themselves necessary. Mehico's military and economic advisers are greeted and are given nice hotel rooms and protection to talk with their men cooperating with our own military and such and overall having a good time. Adam Lee quickly begins to become a popular member of parliament and Pan-Arcadia Ideals continue to be on the rise massively with a protest held this year in New London against the British government but the government not picking a side. The Charleston Times begins to spread their views further of a unified Arcadia and Republican Views. The 8 men which have been struggling for a while to work out the design for a republic based government invites Adam Lee to help out. By Christmas time, Adam Lee successfully finishes out the document with the men perfecting it. This document is copied 80 times to have enough to be given to parliament members next year to review and also to ensure that if some are destroyed, there will always be an extra.
    • British Dip: This is complete unnecessary sedition. At no point did Britain ever suggest it was opposed to any unification or that it desired to interfere in local government. Unification must be done with mutual consent of all those involved which you have failed to receive not through the fault of the British but because you haven't asked. Adam Lee is just creating trouble out of nothing and in the pay of his Mehican friends who claim sovereignty over Arcadia. There is no need for godless native soldiers to be deployed. The white christian people of Arcadia who the British stood beside in wars against Burgundy must take a long hard look at the likes of Adam Lee and the radical unheard of government that he proposes and who his friends are and what his friends seek.
    • Savannah Dip: We see this as lies due to the fact that we "never held a gun to their head" and forced them to support these views nor to aggressively force them into anything. If it means excluding you in these circumstances, then in that case, parliament may care quite little over it.We do not look up to the king as if he is a divine being that we must go get everything done by him. We are sovereign states that have their own government and such and if we may end up uniting, it is decided by parliament and by the people and so far especially in Savannah, they support Pan Arcadia. We also notify that they are not godless but Christians showing their obvious "Fake News" in front of their face. Adam Lee's ideals and such might be "radical" but are seen as a breakthrough that might help solve many problems within government and should be left up to parliament to make a call on such.
    • British Dip: The Mehicans call their leader the divine emperor. That is sacrilege, they worship non- christian idols such as the Jaguars. Again that is not Christian. They simply refer to themselves as Christians. It is up to Parliament to make decisions but Adam Lee is a foreign agent. Our advice is unrelated to unification but our concern about Mehican expansionism. We merely advise Parliaments that Mehica is dangerous as are their infiltrators.
    • Savannah Dip: We understand your nation's concerns especially at a time of war but re-ensure them that there is no concern or fuss at the moment and any disruption created by the Mehicans will be taken care of. We also notify the British that Adam Lee is a member of Parliament and is not a foreign agent of any kind. We respect the Mehicans' idols just as the Catholic Church has saints and are higly respected. We see it as a unique part of their heritage and nothing more of those sorts. If anything happens as a consequence due to our decisions, we will send diplomats immediately to notify the King and Government. We will also keep an eye out on any infiltrators as well but so far there is none to note of.
  • Papal States: Having accepted the Belkan request, the Papal Army works in conjunction with its Belkan allies to drive Napoleon back. Meanwhile, after years of delay due to the difficulties caused by the war, the Prefect for Missions agrees to Hawaii's request and the Apostolic Vicariate of Honolulu is raised to a full Diocese.
  • Brésil: After the Election of 1818, the Grand Assembly elects the second term deputy, Jacques-Louis David. The first thing Grand Deputy David does is change the flag to simpler model. This flag contains a cross to reflect the country's dedication to Catholicism, and then a simplified eight-pointed star of Oriflamme, their national symbol. Unlike other monarchies, in Brésil the siblings of the Emperor lacked official titles. This year, David bestows the honor of the title Duc (Duke) Imperial on all of the siblings of the Emperor. The capital reconstruction is almost completed, with mostly finishing touches being done throughout the year. David continues the lowered tariffs due to the recession that still plagues the New World. Colonization continues in the savanna and the Amazon river, and Fort Lauwen continues to expand slowly. General Loup dies due to old age, mourning is held throughout the nation.
  • Kingdom of Burgundy: Support of the war against Napoleon continues, focusing on the advance on Hanover. In Maryland and New Netherlands, Adam Lees “Pan-Acadian” ideals are by and large rejected due to distinct differences, as well as Savannah’s uncomfortable closeness to Mehica.
  • Jin dynasty: The Kangxi Emperor successfully leads China into financial recovery. Confucian orthodoxy is enforced. Literary inquisition continues. Agricultural productivity rises due to implementation of irrigation and more resource-intensive methods. Both grains and cash crops are widely cultivated. The mining industry, propelled by restrictions against logging and a high demand for tax funds, experiences a boom, with vast reserves of high-quality anthracite, gold and copper being found and exploited. Industrial facilities continue to churn out massive volumes of wrought iron derived from pig iron, as well as gunpowder and other processed commodities; most of which are utilised in the production of various armaments, firearms, and artillery. Immense commercialization continues, aided by heavy infrastructural development and a strong internal demand for consumer goods and luxury items. Basic sanitation and hygiene is taught, and public bathhouses, spas, latrines and sewage systems are all built.
Many Tibetans are encouraged (via financial incentives) to become more sedentary, with food instead being supplied from nearby Sichuan (thereby reducing overreliance in inefficient herding).
    • North Mongolia: Yurt is further settled. A healthy aquaculture industry is established, harvesting and raising fish from the Baikal Lake.
    • Zaihaibian Colonies: Company rule (under the Chinese East Indies Company) continues. Fire-fallow cultivation is encouraged, leading to rapid deforestation of the forest, with local tribes being forcibly assimilated or expelled.
  • France: Industrialization continues as coal mines begin opening up alongside large river basins, as well as alongside the rivers. Textile factories, and various other mass-productive factories, begin to appear alonside these rivers. Many of the goods are sent to Paris as re-construction of the city in hopes of making it larger and more modernized, with older buildings being torn down and re-built in a more neo-classical style. A faction in the military that is stationed in Paris, known as the Inner Circle, begins taking any recruits for a special project. However, no information is leaked about the project and is generally under the radar of the King. French diplomats and an army of 20,000 are sent to the Sultanate of Zayiyr, but remained stationed only at the ports and local waters, with no one having any idea of what their intentions are there.
  • Egypt: With the utter humiliation of the Egyptian Army by the Ethiopians and the stalemate against the Belka, the war in Europe has become extremely unpopular amongst the masses. To focus on the reclimation the Ethopian-held Nile, the war in Europe now seen as an significant distraction, Egypt declares its withdrawal from the War. The War leads to massive economic loss, with formerly profitable markets such as that of cotton production, collapse with major sectors barely holding on. With prices soaring and business on the verge of total collapse, Fawzia's popularity parallel to the economy completely collapses and with no viable heir, the country is trapped in limbo in a succession crisis. The fallout from these crises, along with the Ethiopian Invasion, reduces the nation to a sate of absolute anarchy, reminiscent of the Era of the Mamuluks, leaving most economic areas to waste. 1820

Not many people agree with Adam Lee because the British have generally been good to them and they don't really like natives. #racism.

Napoleon and his armies are defeated in one last great battle in southern Germany. With the coalition forces closing in on all sides and his numbers depleted, he sees no way out and decides to abdicate after restoring the League Council and naming his brother Karl as Regent. The peace negotiations begin under Karl and the other brothers.

In Egypt, many people begin calling for Fawzia to abdicate and great general Muhammad Ali to seize control.

  • Ethiopian Empire: Dawit offers the olive branch to Egypt and says if accepted we will keep all the land south of Atbara and take no more. Even more so if accepted we will help restore order and get the economy running again. After great results with the war Yonas Abel is promoted even further to commander of the Royal Guard. Positions are entrenched on both sides of the Nile until a peace offer can be made. Dawitt continues to expand the Red Sea Fleet and the postal system. The roads and bridges in Sudan are repaired. Schools are set up in Sudan to teach the populace how to read and write. The first steam engine is produced in Adulis and practical uses for it are researched to see its best ability.
  • France: King Louis, age 18 and now having a bigger catalogue and knowledge of politics, offers asylum for Napoleon inside of France, and offers the Coalition members a place to sort out the treaty, that place being Paris. Coal mines begin appearing rapidly around France as new locations of coal deposits are found around the southeastern region. Factories begin to appear alongside the Seine river in Paris. After the rumors are confirmed of there being riches in the Congolese state of Zayiyr, King Louis sends his brother Pierre down to Zayiyr where the 20,000 troops are stationed to work out a possible occupation and colonial vassalization of the state, holding meetings with the Sultan/King. These meetings include the trading of technological weaponry and devices in exchange [for the occupation and colonial vassalization] (Scraw). If the colonial vassalization is allowed, Pierre will come back to France and tell the King of it. After that, an expedition will begin. If it isn't allowed, the 20,000 troops will then overthrow the state, execute the Sultan, Pierre will take hold as King, and mass enslavement of the Congolese people to begin mining the riches will take place.
    • Zayiyr says come at me bro. -s
  • Brésil: With the final gardens being put in to the Imperial Mall, Grand Deputy David declares the Saint-Denis project complete, and throws a parade for the Tridecennial Anniversary of the nation. As the last effects of the Panic of 1811 leave the nation, David removes the temporarily edicts put in place during the recession. This means the federal government will fully administer roads and transportation again, and tariffs go back to normal. With normalization of tariffs, the Grand Assembly reforms their system with the Tariff Act of 1820. The act mostly increases tariffs across the board to cause a boost in Bresilian industry. Other effects of the act is that it makes a desired (or no) tariff rate for certain countries, a higher normal rate for others, and it de facto removes the unenforced embargo on French goods from the early days of independence. With the Napoleonic War ending, Ambassador Cosme Medici of the United Kingdom and Ambassador Chambrun of Burgundy offer to their respective nations that the new Saint-Denis capital (a truly neutral city) could be where negotiations take place for the treaty. Although less prestigeous than Paris, Saint-Denis (OTL: Recife) is one of the best cities in the new world, and the nation has been truly neutral to both parties during the war. The army receives normal funding again. With new revenues from tariffs, David decides to subsidize Brésilian industry and further boost the domestic industry and economy. Colonization continues. David calls for the 1820 census and it is recorded that population has reached 10,008,613. Alexandre sends a request to the English to marry his son, Alexandre to an heir of the King (english request). Colonization continues. David calls for the 1820 census and it is recorded that population has reached 6,839,717 (approved by zcraw).
  • I Highly doubt that. I realize this isnt OTL brazil so ill give a little leeway but the OTL turn of the century pop was 3.4 million. if i give you an extra million for being from a bigger colonial power, and then another 600,000 from growth since brazil is a pre-industrial hell-hole of a jungle and mountains right now. your population is barely half of that. -Feud
  • I Highly disagree with that. -Nick
  • Belkan Federation: The end of the war seea great fanfare and the Battle known as the Battle of Munich (being the closest city to the battlefield) is lauded as the dawn of a new peace in Europe. The Coalition stands victorious however the Belkans have spent their blood, gold, and practically their entire nation into a war that has fundamentally changed the nation inside and out and the amount of intelligence and technical expertise put into fighting this war has left the Belkan state somewhat longing for money, but also on a technological forefront. The necessity of ease of supply transport has created some of the first railways in europe and a conjunctionary development of a primitive steam locomotive has begun to revolutionize transport across the country and industry has taken off as war necessity had left many factories geared towards war making now useless except for the now open markets of Germany, and the ease of construction and manufacture of so many consumer goods. This leaves many of these factories beginning to be developed under a new umbrella, they push towards textiles, concrete, glass, steel is also more effectively produced and the economy while devoid currently of government intervention begins to flourish as private buisinessmen start to buy these properties off the Belkan government who had appropriated them or built them specifically for the war effort. This does a great deal towards financing the Belkan debt and many of the soldiers returning home are given waivers for universities and guarenteed good wages for these new industrial jobs. The need to take care of its victorious soldiers is apparent to the Vozdh and his government and mandatory workers rights are implemented for these veterans before its realized that the rights would be better if extended to all workers. The exploitative practices were wholly noticed under the war time and the Vozdh declares, will not be tolerated during peace. This disgruntles many of the private owners but the Belkan court system upholds the governments decision and orders military force be employed to guarentee these rights. Many wartime emergency powers granted to the Vozdh are retracted, and Vozdh Tito agrees marking one of the first times in european history a man granted near ultimate power turned down or declined to keep it, knowing he could have declared himself emperor. Belka offers peace to the Egyptians ready to discuss terms of support, surrender, and stability to the Egyptians.
  • Papal States: Rome's many churches ring their bells to celebrate the final defeat of the tyrant Napoleon and Pope Michael II celebrates a thanksgiving Mass (as well as a smaller Divine Liturgy, he is an Easterner after all). The Parlamento approves a plan to rebuild the regions which were devastated by the conflict. The Pope's ally and  homeland Belka is roundly praised for its role in the defeat of the menace. With the war at an end, the Congregation for Missions is able to reopen some lines of communication which had previously been clocked, or deemed too dangerous, due to the war
  • Mehican Empire:Our Administrators hold a Census of the population of mehico where panama is counted but not as mehico,The mehican population is 11 681 789 and the Panamanian population is counted to be 3 587 891.Our administrators do note that there may be some inacuracy up to 2 % of the total populatio. This census also tried to catogories all people in each Gouvernate with the results being Maiam:3 % Europeans, 47% mixed Aztec-European, 21% Aztec Guatemalla :23% Europeans 34% mixed Aztec-European 43% Aztec Tejas:34% Europeans 8% mixed Dene-European 17% mixed Aztec-European 27% Aztec 14% Dene California:12% Europeans 27% mixed Dene-Europeans 47% Dene 14% Aztec-Dene Panama:37%Europeans 21% Aztecs 10 % mixed Aztec-European 32 % Panamanian Native. These results are based upon the Population so if some have not been counted then this is reflected in the precentage. Some Historians working for the Emperor found that the royal family still holds some minor lands and farms in the papal states. These lands are quite poor but they are still some lands of the royal family directly in Europe. Our Emperor even speaks some Italian but Due to the first of his ancestors in Mzerka Learning Portuguese and Dene his skills in the language has been small.

  • Cologne: With many Kolsch volunteers having continued to run the original Rhineland League institutions over the years, the fall of Napoleon comes as a breath of fresh air for the people of Cologne within the Rhineland League, or what has now come to be known as Germany. Archbishop Garrick and a small envoy go to Paris to join the discussions with Karl Bonaparte and the others – as the spiritual leader of Germany, he believes that he may be able to act in the interests of the good Catholics of a country that has been torn apart by a dictator. There have been enemy soldiers deep within German borders, doing all manner of unholy things, and it must come to an end. Furthermore, Germany has not had a chance to grow economically as well as it could have, in amongst all the war. Garrick knows that Germany has a vast plethora of resources, not just in Cologne itself, which could be used to eventually restore the Germans to their old glory. However, more pressingly – with Germany all but unified as a result of Napoleon’s rule, the Archbishop is concerned about the religious freedom of those in Cologne and Essen and emphasises that, as part of the peace process, the people of Cologne should be allowed to retain their independence to protect the religious heart of Germany from being affected by any future dictators. During the rule of this dictator, the influence of Cologne all but disappeared, putting a halt to many good projects for the education and welfare of German peoples. For the betterment of all German peoples, this should never happen again.
    • Essen: Abbess Yslana de Beauharnais flew mostly under the radar during the Napoleon years, protecting her people and coordinating the Adelphinian Canonesses in Tondo and New Germany. However, whilst most people celebrated Napoleon’s downfall with many festivities, Yslana is strangely quiet about her own celebrations. She instead chooses to focus on promulgating education again amongst the new generation, specifically amongst those who have only lived through the Napoleon years thus far. Those young people are taught the important aspects of what life was like prior to Napoleon, in order to draw important lessons for their futures. The mines in Essen continue to run, but pick up the pace in the aftermath of the war. Yslana also deals with a backlog of people in the hospital systems throughout Essen, where people had gone to as a safe haven when their homes in Germany had been destroyed. It will be a few years yet before the hospitals are back to normal.

1821

In Brazil and Argentine' a large wave of immigration occurs swelling populations and effectively solidifying Argentine control over much of its Patagonian claims.

The peace in Europe has come at a cost with the Congress of Paris underway, 5 Great Powers stand dominant over Europe however most of them are in a cautious post war boom specifically Burgundy, Belka, and Britain, as industrialization effectively brings most of the former soldiers into the workforce putting women back in the household. Populations booms also take effect as many of these men begin families.

The Failure of the German unification movement has had profound impact across Europe with many defeated Austrians and Rhinelanders returning home maimed and many not returning at all. Karl himself is deposed in the Rhineland as a exiled Saxon prince takes control of the Rhineland becoming its new king and instituting a new constitutional monarchy system.

While the European war has ended, the war in the Middle East continues with Arabia fighting both Belka and Britain.

Argentine: As massive migration from Europe picks up, the military which is presently in charge of the revolutionary state of Argentine begins offering land grants to new arrivals in the hopes of quickly cultivating the claimed lands in the Patagonia, the Pamapa region ,and further north in the still sparsely populated Chaku plains. The terms for the grant are either in the form of installment payments of a small amount, the establishment of reserve units to be called up if needed in times of war due to the dangerous nature of Argentine's borders and internal frontiers, and for the appropriate cultivation of lands granted to migrant communities. From La Rivierre the capital (OTL Buenos Aires), the Director Jean Morel continues to negotiate with delegates from each of the territories and provinces that make up the Argentine State over the future constitution of the State, and the government structure. With the representatives from La Rivierre favoring a unitarian structure and the provinces particularly Guarani (otl North Santa fe and formosa region) are pushing for a confederation of loosely connected states. Jean is able to postpone talks given the current situation that Argentine faces with a belligerent Mapuche to the west, and a less then friendly Bresil just across the river. Negotiations with the land owners in the far north of the country are also underway to speed up a process of abolition of slavery.  The Universite Nationale de la Rivierre is opened up as well as the first major university of the country. the Province of Plaines Argente (OTL Buenos Aires province) is pushed further south by the militia in raids against hostile natives. Cottage industry around la Rivierre, Sante Marie (OTL Rosario de Sante Fe) continue to grow. Ranching and horse husbandry remain the largest activities of the new country, particularly on the frontiers which remain largely unenclosed lands. Many of the ranchers and settlers are also in the army as reservists or as militia trained for the most part for mobile warfare against the natives these men are known as Frontaliers and the settlements simply as reglements. The Frontaliers units number around 8,500 strong, while the standard infantry units are 5,000 strong, and stationed mainly along the Rivierre de Argente in fortifications built to protect against potential incursions by the Brasilian giant on the other side. Efforts to import more firearms and to produce them locally begin to supply the growing army. Efforts to begin building a navy are also made to patrol the Argente River.  An envoy is sent to Brasil with the intent of establishing normalized relations between the Argentine and the Brasillians that have been tense due to Brasilian efforts to exert influence over Argentine. Jean's envoy makes it explicitly clear that Argentine would be more then willing to be friends and trading partners with their brothers across the river, but that Argentine is an independent state.

  • Argentine Diplomacy:The General Directory sends a delegation to Mapuche to discuss a normalization of relations while another delegation is sent in secret to Peru in an effort to improve relations with Peru and to determine if an alliance might be established between both countries Mod response please. In the meantime Europeans are invited to migrate to Argentine with the promise of a new start in the Argentine frontiers, and the prospects of becoming landowners as vast tracts of uncultivated land remain available for the taking albeit the expense of the natives (though this is never mentioned in the advertisements), or to get a new job in the growing cities along the Rivierre de Argente if the frontier life is not for them.. Diplomatic missions to France, Burgundy, Britain, Belka, Russia, Iberia, and even the defeated German states are made in an effort to establish trade and diplomatic ties with Europe, and to attract military, and economic missions to help develop Argentine.
  • Scandinavia: With the War coming to an end, the Scandinavian King would like for Schleswig-Holstein to be ceded to the Kingdom. Along with this they would like reparations for the damages caused to Denmark during this war of aggression. In other news Sweden begins the slow track to industrialization one where the expansion of the heavy industries in directly invested in by the King Alexander. The King is attempting to move Scandinavia farther away from the affairs of mainland Europe, attempting to improve relations with Russia, while improving relations with the other powers specifically Burgundy. With this they however continue to expand in Acadia many new immigrants leave for Vinland while the King sets forth to create a new body to elect officials for the up coming constitution. The population has been ravaged as many who had lived in Denmark have moved to Sweden and Norway, and the lost territory of Finland. Scandinavia offers Russia a deal, that the Finnish people should have a right to decide there sovereignty and they should hold a referendum whether to join Scandinavia or stay with Russia. (Mod Response) If Russia is to accept this and Finland chooses to leave the Russia, Scandinavia will reimburse the Russians 500,000 Zlotys. With this Scandinavia having moved towards a new
  • France: Following the Franco-Zayiyr War and the French victory, the Sultanate of Zayiyr is incorporated as a French colony, with Lious's brother Pierre taking over as King of Zayiyr and the Kongo. Following unexpected large casualties, another 20,000 troops are sent and the resources needed for mining are also sent. More later.
    • French Zayiyr: After executing the Sultan and the entire royal family, Pierre begins expanding his rule by, yes, enslaving a large number of the populace to begin mining the riches that are finally confirmed to be there. The main religion is Islam, which is expected to stay as the main religion. Although the main language is Arabic, French is taught as the main language in schools, with Arabic as a secondary language. More later.
    • Your algo is wrong by a far margin. your region penalties weren't included which totally burn out your population comparison. -Feud
  • Belkan Federation: The Parisian congress continues with Belka discussing now the more particular things of the treaty. The home economy continues to grow as the many veterans begin to take up the industrial jobs. (not a lot of time to post today sorry)
  • Sicily: We continue to fortify and integrate the newly acquired territory into the nation, including Naples and other cities. Taking note of the congress in Paris, the government is angered that Britain demands "Italian states...be aligned under the Papal States," and that the congress appears to not respect Sicily's borders. The king asks that a Sicilian delegation be allowed to attend the conference, or at the very least those terms be reworded or removed.
