Recep Tayyip Erdoğan (born on 26 February 1954) is the current President of Turkey since 28 August 2014. He had previously served as Prime Minister of Turkey from 2007 to 2014 and Mayor of Bursa from 1994 to 1999. Erdoğan has led a controversial political carrer; during his tenure, Turkey had laid claim to the Bulgarian province of Constantinople, a territory that Turkey lost after the Turkish Revolutionary War. Erdoğan also established military bases along the western Turkish coastline in order to back that claim. The President has also made speech during his Presidency, focusing on Turkish and Islamic domination and calling for Turkish diaspora in Europe to reproduce in "order to wipe out white Europeans". The resulting speech caused mass panic in Europe which in itself resulted in chaotic Anti-Islamic and Anti-Turkish race riots throughout the major cities of the member states of the European Alliance. In 2014, Turkish Air Force jets shot down German Luftwaffe planes, whom were on training exercise, which brought the world close to war. Relations between Turkey and the European Alliance have soured to an extreme low point and most member states have ended diplomatic relations as a result.
