Religion, or the worship of a higher being or entity, is a practice that is common throughout the world. Typically, those who follow a religion believe in a set of gods, or a single God. In addition, religions tend to have an organized clergy, spiritual texts, and may hold certain objects, animals, or times to be holy. Some practictioners follow dietary restriction, which can include fasting.

Generally, the current religious trends involve the fall of organized religion, rise of atheism, and increase of state-sponsorship in religious denominations.
