A list of religions from the Dying in the 90's ATL.


Pre-War Religions[]

"Pre-War" is slang used to describe certain things that were created before the Nuclear War of 95.


Christianity[]

Catholicism[]

The Catholic church was greatly affected. Many churches were lost. Pope Saint John Paul II survived and was temporally relocated to Poland. The Church had changed a lot of its policies after the war. Due to Vatican City being wiped off the maps by nuclear explosions, a lot of priests had to be relocated. As of 2020, Catholicism is still being practiced all over the globe with the most influence coming from Latin America.

Eastern Orthodox[]

Currently being practiced is certain eastern European states and post-Russian warlord states. A few Eastern Orthodox communities can be found in South America.

Protestant[]

Widespread around North America, Australia, the British Isles, and a few other places.

Oriental Orthodox[]

Common in Ethiopia, Eritrea, and Armenia. Also somewhat common in Egypt, Middle East, and India.

Jehovah's Witnesses[]

Can be found everywhere but has stagnated over the years.

Mormonism[]

Can be found in North America.

Islam[]

Sunni[]

Sunni Islam remains the most popular type of Islam. It is very common throughout Northern Africa, parts of the Middle East, Central Asia, and Indonesia.

Shia[]

Popular in Iran, Iraq, Azerbaijan, and parts of Afghanistan.

Quranism[]

Found in Oman and small groups in Northern Africa.

Hinduism[]

The dominant religion in India.

Buddhism[]

Can be found across Asia and Kalmykia. Tibet currently has the biggest Buddhist population in the world.

Chinese folk religion[]

Somewhat popular in northernmost India and Kashmir.

Judaism[]

Mostly found in Israel. Judaism suffered a lot from the war due to a lot of churches being destroyed during the war. Multiple Jewish communities migrated from Europe to Israel in hopes of escaping from the chaos of the war.

Jainism[]

Somewhat popular in India.

Scientology[]

Scientology became a lot more popular after the war. The war had very strange side affects on Scientology.

"Post-War" is slang used to describe certain things that were created after or as a result of the Nuclear War of 95.

Einsteinism[]

The Church of Einsteinism is a religious group that believes Albert Einstein was the second coming of Jesus. Einsteinism bases its beliefs on the teachings of Albert Einstein. It is also believed that Albert Einstein foretold the Nuclear War of 95 because of the quote “I know not with what weapons World War III will be fought, but World War IV will be fought with sticks and stones.” Einsteinism isn't very widespread, but as of 2020 it is estimated that there are around 400,000-450,000 followers of Einsteinism.

Holy Order of the Golden Dawn[]

The Holy Order of the Golden Dawn is based on the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn. It was created to bring back the Hermetic Order of the Golden Dawn but also re-imagine it to fit the post-nuclear environment created after the war. It is found most commonly spread through out the British isles. As of 2020 it is estimated there are around 9000-11,000 followers of The Holy Order of the Golden Dawn.

Guinness World Champions[]

A religion that was started by a fan of the Guinness World Records. GWC is a very unique religion. The whole religion is based on praying to Guinness World in hopes that you will be a granted a little of their power. GWC can be seen as a very atheistic religion since it does not have any gods, only champions. It is mainly spread out across North America and South America, but a few small groups have formed in Europe, being most popular in the British Isles. As of 2020, it is estimated there are around 8000-10,000 followers of the Guinness World Champions.

The Washingtonian Church[]

The Washingtonian Church is a religious movement that beliefs Gorge Washington was a messiah deity.

God's Creatures[]

This is a alternative medicine movement that believes organisms mutated by radiation have special powers that can be passed on into a person through consumption or a special ritual. Different mutations mean different abilities. For example consuming a animal with an extra leg has healing powers.

Devotees of Disney[]

This movement originated in Disney theme parks. Large groups of survivors migrated into Disney Land looking for shelter and quickly turned them into small towns. Eventually a Disney based religion arose. It mostly was followed by people who lived in the Disney Land Communities but it later spread outwards into multiple other places.

Irreligion, Atheism, Agnosticism[]

Became less common in Europe, Asia, and North America because the beliefs of various religions helped to bring people together. Various irreligious, atheistic, and agnostic communities exist in South America, Oceania, and Africa as they became more developed than other continents.
