Renard Baudouin Cheney (born January 30, 1941) is an Antartane sergeant and politician who served as the 10th president of Antartique from 2001 to 2010.
Born in Port Heureux, Antartique, Cheney was drafted at the age of 25 to fight in the Great Muqaddian War in which his nation got involved. He was then sent to Novanglia, where he played an important role in the battles of Cusco and Chadileufu, which gained him the rank of Sergeant. The war turned Cheney's political ideologies, orienting him to the left with pacifist ideals. His status as veteran made him popular among most of the population which allowed him to run and win the 2002 election, later getting re-elected in 2006.
His government allowed Antartique's entrance into the Southern Muqaddas Common Market (SMCM), as well as establishing stronger economic ties with both neighbours and foreign nations like the United States and Russia. After years of stagnation and the growing threat of inflation, Cheney was able to stabilize the economy and bring back Antartique to international consideration. One of his last moves as leader was sending help to Novanglia after the 2010 Yorksborough earthquake.
After 8 years of a successful tenure, he left office and retired to a peaceful town in the province of Cayenne. After his tenure, Cheney has remained a popular leader in both Antartique and abroad. His life has been the subject of several films, autobiographies, and documentaries.
