The Republic of Dakota is a nation that is west of the Empire of America and the Queendom of Michigan, east of the Pacific States of California, north of the Empire of Texas and south of the Republic of Canada. The Republic of Dakota self declares itself the remains of the former USA.

History[]

After the nuking of America, the states of North Dakota, South Dakota, Minnesota, Wisconsin, Kansas, and Nebraska with East Colorado and Upper Peninsula Michigan merged together into a Republic based off of the traditions, values and system of Government of the USA. This Republic was to become the resurrection of the former USA which apparently made it a rival to the corrupt USA (now Empire of America) and the Pro-Socialist Disney Dictatorship in California,

Arthur A. Link, a well respected politician became the first president of the Republic of Dakota. His presidency had helped define the Republic as a strong nation and the true successor of the now defunct USA. Many said that his presidency was as great as the late Ronald Reagan who was once America's greatest leader. Arthur A. Link had continued the domestic policies of Ronald Reagan which were never implemented in the first place due to Reagan having to focus on World War III. Many of these reforms were successful under Link.

Link, after so many successful reforms and ruling as president for 8 years left the office as an election was held to see who will be his successor. John Neely Kennedy, his vice president had faced off with Republican Michael Reagan, the son of Ronald Reagan in the first election after Link's presidency. Reagan had won as he lived up to his promise of making Dakota the great nation the US was under his father and continued to push for more domestic reforms to make Dakota great.

Sadly, Dakota's prosperity resulted in many nations getting paranoid of Dakota getting strong enough to one day conquer the entirety of the USA. Dakota knowing this and fearing a war that could devastate their newfound republic decided to manipulate the other nations into waging war against their corrupt and weak rival who is east of their nation and the nation built a wall on the border of Dakota and the corrupt "USA". The Empire of Texas was victorious in their wars against the US as they gained control over various political families and warlords who are believers of their racist ideology. Michigan however failed to maintain control of their territories due to political instability and corruption.

President Reagan, continued his reforms and he did it without interference from enemy nations because he was successful in making them wage war against the corrupt nation that calls itself the USA. Sadly the Republic of Canada declared war on Dakota to take over the coast of the upper peninsula which borders Lake Superior. Canada's desire to take control of the coast is to make it possible to create Oil platforms in the lake that drill to explore, extract, store, and process petroleum and natural gas that could possibly be located underneath the surface of Lake Superior. President Reagan finding this out from his intelligence agency freaked out as he feared that the only source of drinking water for the nation could possibly be taken from them and polluted with oil.

Dakota rallied the troopers for war against the Canadians to prevent their conquest of the coast and the loss of their only source of water which could result in Dakota having to get water from the lake south of the peninsula which is already polluted no thanks to the Michigan Queendom's addiction to Industrial factories and modernization. Sadly Dakota lost the war due to Canada getting aid from the Socialist States of New England. Michael Reagan left office with shame and sorrow as he and the leadership lost their water.

Reagan was succeed by many ineffective presidents who constantly failed to get Lake Superior back in their grasp and this resulted in the age of instability as Native Tribes rebelled against the government. The Kanye West situation in the "USA" making it strong made things worse as he made the fake America a monarchy that strengthened America as a powerful Empire. An election happened and the winners were Republicans Doug Burgum and Kristi Noem who decided to reform Dakota and try to find a solution for the drinking water problem. Sadly, they must do it quickly because Dakota's neighbors finding out about their problem could try to invade the country and destroy it or if Native Americans find out they failed, they could overthrow the government and make Dakota weak for conquest.

Government[]

Dakota is a Federal Republic ruled by a President that is elected into power by the Federal Government which consists of politicians that are elected into their positions within the government branches by the people. The federal government is composed of three distinct branches: legislative, executive, and judicial, whose powers are vested by the U.S. Constitution in the Congress, the president and the federal courts, respectively. The powers and duties of these branches are further defined by acts of Congress, including the creation of executive departments and courts inferior to the Supreme Court.

The sitting of a Congress is for a two-year term, at present beginning every other January; the current Congress is the 117th. Elections are held every even-numbered year on Election Day. The members of the House of Representatives are elected for the two-year term of a Congress. The Reapportionment Act of 1929 establishes that they be elected in single-member constituencies or districts by first-past-the-post and that Congressional districts be apportioned to states by population every ten years using the United States Census results, provided that each state has at least one Congressional representative. Each senator is elected at-large in their state for a six-year term, with terms staggered, so every two years approximately one-third of the Senate is up for election.

Senate[]

The composition and powers of the Senate are established by Article One of the United States Constitution. The Senate is composed of senators, each of whom represents a single state in its entirety. Each state is equally represented by two senators who serve staggered terms of six years. The Vice President of Dakota serves as presiding officer and president of the Senate by virtue of that office, and has a vote only if the senators are equally divided. In the vice president's absence, the president pro tempore, who is traditionally the senior member of the party holding a majority of seats, presides over the Senate.

Both senators and representatives are chosen through direct election, though vacancies in the Senate may be filled by a governor's appointment. Congress has 535 voting members: 100 senators and 435 representatives. The Vice President of the United States has a vote in the Senate only when senators are evenly divided; the House of Representatives has six non-voting members.

House of Representatives[]

The House of Representatives consists of politicians elected by the people and are in their positions to represent the people of Dakota as people and see fit that the populace's desires and needs are met. The Number of Representatives shall not exceed one for every thirty Thousand, but each State shall have at Least one Representative.

Military[]

Army[]

The Army of Dakota is a large army that consists of the remains of the US Army that are still loyal to the cause of the US and have not defected to serving the ideological new regimes that popped up after the DC got nuked. The Army has outdated military equipment and war vehicles from the 80s unlike the enemies Canada, California and New England for they had gained equipment from China.

Navy[]

The Navy's job is to protect the waters of lake Superior from Canadian forces and no thanks to Dakota's loss to Canada, the Navy is barely functional and it might be shut down until the lake is back.

Air Force[]

The Air Force is large due to the fact the open plains made it easy for testing Warplanes. Sadly these Warplanes are outdated, but the good thing is they are strong Air Force units.

Economy[]

The North regions of Dakota have industrial sectors and they rely on Dakota Access Pipeline to transport oil to all the industrial sectors in the Republic of Dakota to power all forms of industry. However angry Native Americans from the Sioux tribal nations with angry farmers are protesting the creation of the pipeline as it might negatively impact on sites sacred to the Indigenous Nations and land that is severely needed by Farmers to plant crops to make food for society.

Otherwise Dakota is mainly an agricultural nation run by farmers and the Indigenous Sioux Tribe Nations who own the fields of Dakota and they defend those fields and lands severely for the lands and fields are needed to feed the population of Dakota. The entirety of the Republic except for the far north is dominated economically by the agriculture industry. Sadly the southern regions are in Tornado valley which makes the Agriculture dominated regions are unable to produce food during Tornado season as the Tornadoes destroy their homes and wreck their crops.

Demographics[]

Ethnic Groups[]

The majority ethnic groups of Dakota are mostly Caucasians and Native American Indians who are from the Sioux tribal nations. Otherwise there's a minority of African Americans, Asians, Iranians, Afghans, Indians, Latin Americans and Native Canadian Indians.

Religion[]

The majority religions of Dakota are Protestantism and the Native American Tribal Religions of the Sioux tribal nations. Otherwise anyone can practice their religions and religious discrimination is illegal.

Culture[]

The culture of Dakota as an agricultural nation is very conservative nation and as the last bastion of America, Dakota's culture reflects that of America, but more of the rural small town America.
