The Republic of Superior Army is the branch of the Republic of Superior Military responsible for land-based military operations. The primary mission of the Army is to "provide necessary forces and capabilities....to protect the Republic from outside threats...and to support defensive strategies."
Control and operation is administered by the Department of the Army, one of the three service departments of the Department of Defense. The civilian head is the Secretary of the Army and the highest ranking military officer in the department is the Commanding General of the Army.
The Regular Army is reported to have a strength of 50,000 soldiers, the Army National Guard (ARNG) reported at about 20,000, and the Republic of Superior Army Reserve (RSAR) reported at around 15,000, putting the combined component strength of the Army at a total of 85,000 soldiers.

The Army itself is commanded by the Commanding General of the Army, and his staff, which is composed of the various department heads. They also serve on the Defense Staff. Currently, this role is held by four-star General Jack Yeager.
He is aided by the Deputy Commanding General, three-star General Omer Lavoie, formerly head of the Western Department. Both have held their positions since 2002.
Army Commands and Army Service Component Commands[]
Geographically, the Army is divided into two basic departments: The Eastern Department, based in Sault Ste. Marie and currently commanded by Lieutenant-General General Horace Beatty, and the Western Department, based in Houghton and currently commanded by Lieutenant-General Jeremiah Perry.
In addition to this, there are several independent commands. These include the Exploration Department, under Major-General John Cage, and the Republican Guard, under Major-General Richard Callaway, in addition to those commands previously established by the United States Army. These commands, besides the Guard, are headquartered at the Department of Defense in Stowe.
The Republican Guard is functionally independent from the rest of the Army command structure. Members of the other branches of the military are often also members of it, and the Guard as a whole answers, in most cases, only to the President.
Generals in charge of the two geographic departments have three stars, and those in charge of the other departments hold two.
