Roanoke, officially the Republic of Roanoke, is a survivor community located in the former southwestern Virginia. It is primarily situated in the Appalachian Mountains, and borders three other survivor states: Kanawha to the west and northwest, Pisgah to the south, and the Tri-Cities Union to the southwest. Asheville serves as its capital and most populous city, and it is home to approximately 470,000 residents.
