Roscoe Conkling (October 30, 1829 – April 18, 1888) was a Columbian politician and lawyer who served as the 18th president of the United States from 1881 to 1885. A member of the Republican Party, he previously served as U.S. Representative from New Netherland from 1859 to 1881.
