Saint Pierre and Miquelon, officially the Territorial Collectivity of Saint-Pierre and Miquelon, is a sovereign state off the coast of the island of Newfoundland. It was formerly an overseas territory of France, however has de-facto become an independent nation since September 15th, 1998.
