In 1212 Battle of Las Navas de Tolosa is a crushing defeat for the Christian forces. Toledo is captured by Muslim forces several months later. Alfonso VIII died in the battle, so Léon, Castille, Aragon, and Portugal eliminated their alliances/unions with each other. Abu Jusuf II, since 1213 continued conquering North. In 1216 Madrid was taken, and in 1219 Lisbon fell in Almohavid hands.
