Saskatchewan (i/səˈskætʃəwᵻn/ or /-ˌwɑːn/) is one of Canada's twelve provinces. Predominantly flat prairie land, it is bordered by Alberta to the west, Arctica to the north, Manitoba to the east, and the U.S. states of Montana and North Dakota to the south.
Economy[]
Saskatchewan's economy has traditionally been based largely on agriculture. While agriculture is still prevalent, the province's economy has diversified over the decades. The majority of provincial GDP comes from the energy sector, particularly wind and nuclear power due to green initiatives. Mining is also a major industry in the province, with Saskatchewan being a prominent exporter of potash and uranium. The logging industry is a significant industry in the northern part of the province.
