Seattle was a seaport city located on the West Coast of the United States. It was the most populous city in both the state of Washington and the Pacific Northwest region of North America as well as it was the hardest hit areas on the entire planet on first day of the Armageddon. The Seattle metropolitan area's population prior to March 1995 was 529,109.

It was situated on an isthmus between Puget Sound (an inlet of the Pacific Ocean) and Lake Washington as well it was the northernmost major city in the United States, located about 100 miles (160 km) south of the borders of former Canada. It was also a major gateway for trade with East Asia, known as the Port of Seattle.

The history of Seattle can be traced from it's origins of inhabitances by Native Americans for at least 4,000 years before the first permanent European settlers. Arthur A. Denny and his group of travelers, subsequently known as the Denny Party, arrived from Illinois via Portland, Oregon, on the schooner Exact at Alki Point on November 13, 1851. The settlement was moved to the eastern shore of Elliott Bay in 1852 and named "Seattle" in honor of Native American Chief Si'ahl of the local Duwamish and Suquamish tribes. Logging was Seattle's first major industry, but by the late 19th century, the city had become a commercial and shipbuilding center as a gateway to Alaska during the Klondike Gold Rush. Growth after World War II was partially due to the local Boeing company, which established Seattle as a center for aircraft manufacturing. The Seattle area developed into a technology center from the 1980s until March 1995 with companies like Microsoft becoming established in the region; Microsoft founder Bill Gates is a former Seattleite by birth prior to March 1995, as well as Amazon was founded in Seattle in 1994, one year before the Armageddon. as well as the major airline Alaska Airlines was based in SeaTac, Washington, which served Seattle's international airport, Seattle–Tacoma International Airport.

On March 23, 1995, Seattle was destroyed by a nuclear detonation during the Armageddon and World War III. The city was left partly obliterated, with many buildings and infrastructure, most notably Space Needle, were destroyed and resulted in loss of thousands of lives. The explosion occurred in the heart of the city, devastating a wide area and leaving Seattle in ruins. The destruction was seen as a symbol of the brutality and destruction of the Armageddon alongside New York City, and the event was described as one of the greatest tragedies in history.

The city was also been known for the origin of rock acts such as Foo Fighters, Heart, and Jimi Hendrix, as well as the grunge subgenre of rock and its pioneering bands Alice in Chains, Pearl Jam, Nirvana, and Soundgarden.
