Senegambia, offically the Senegambia Confederation, or the ''SF'', is a confederation located in Western Africa. The nation shares borders with Mauritania to the north; Mali to the east; and Coastal Africa and Guinea-Bissau to the south, while the Atlantic Ocean is to the west.
The confederation was founded on 1 February 1982 following an agreement between the two countries signed on 12 December 1981, after the 1981 Gambian Coup d'État brought political instability within the nation.
