The Great War was a Global War originating in North America that lasted from the 12th of December 1861 to the 19th of April 1864. On the 8th of November 1861 , the U.S. Navy unlawfully captured two Confederate diplomats from a British Royal Mail steamer , in response the British issued an ultimatum demanding the release of the Confederate Diplomats shortly afterwards. When the United States Refused , Britain declared War on the United States and Invaded New England and the American West Coast. In response to British aggression against the Union , Russia mobilized it's Far Eastern Fleet in January 1862 and deployed it towards the American West Coast to assist the Americans and then proceeded to establish an Alliance with Prussia directed against the Ottomans and Austria followed by an Invasion of both nations in February and April 1862 respectively.

By then Britain , France and Spain were heavily involved in North America with the latter two nations having jointly declared war on the Union on Christmas of 1861 and with Russian and Prussia expanding the conflict in Europe little could be done to oppose them. By July 1862 , Italy and Greece along with Romania and Serbia were dragged on side of the Unionist Coalition and in Fall of 1862 , the Confederates captured Washington D.C though at the same time , Union forces pushed back the Brits from most of Canada while the British themselves made gains along the West Coast of North America. In Early 1863 France and Spain secured Mexico and the Caribbean , the Austrians were defeated on all Fronts and pushed back to modern day Austria and Hungary while the Ottomans were struggling to halt their enemies along the regions of Macedonia and Eastern Rumelia.

In April 1863 , the Treaty of Porto was signed ending the War in North America allowing Britain to shift it's focus to Europe. The Arrival of additional British and Spanish Forces in France prevented a full-scale German Offensive into France after a German Victory in a lengthy Alsace-Lorraine Campaign while Vienna and Budapest fell to the Russian Coalition as well as Constantinople.
