Siam, also known as Thailand, is a nation in South East Asia.
Name[]
The official name is Kingdom of Thailand (Thai:ราชอาณาจักรไทย Ratcha Anachak Thai) but is internationally known as Siam. Siam is also used in foreign affairs.
History[]
In 1936, the Khāsāmi (คาซามิ) Tower (otl China Resources Tower) begun to be built and soon was finished in 1938 and then the interior was worked on and the building was finally completed fully by 1940.
The Bira International Circuit is a race track that was built from 1938 and finished in 1941. It is used for local and international racing.
Siam also helped their ally Japan in the war of China since 1938. In 1939 Siam joined the East Asian Trade and Security Pact.
In 1940, Siam also begun to help Japan liberate Indonesia from the Dutch.
In 1942, The Thai National Racing League is formed, hosting races each year on the Bira International Circuit. Prime Minister Plaek Phibunsongkhram also accepted Japan's help in industrialising Siam and also allowed Japanese businesses to be opened in Siam. Also in 1942, new provinces were created following the new territories given to by Japan.
In 1943, Surakiart Phathanothai, a Thai artist creates a มังงะ (manga) series called the โทโฮจิเร็ยเด็น (Subterranean Animism) with โคเมย์จิ โคอิชิ (Khoxichi Khomey̒ci/ Koishi Komeiji) as main character. The โทโฮจิเร็ยเด็น series has 5 mangas. In 1948 Surakiart Phathanothai begun writing a new series called โทโฮไคคิดัน (Mystic Square), with the first issue being released in 1949.
Also during Khuang Abhaiwongse as Prime Minister, he gave women lots and lots of rights, and established laws and such to enforce it. This also made the Feminist Party popular throughout Thailand.
