The Russian Republic of Siberia was an independent state that formed from the Provisional All-Russian Government in 1920 following the end of the Russian Civil War. The Republic consisted of several semi-autonomous oblasts between the Ural Mountains and the Pacific Coast. For the majority of the states history, Omsk was the capital city but switched between the Omsk and coastal harbour city of Vladivostok particularly during and after the Russian Civil War as a security measure. The state was a result of the armistice signed between the White Movement led by Alexander Kolchak and the Russian SFSR led by Vladimir Lenin and later by Leon Trotsky after Lenin's abrupt death. The nations never officially signed a peace deal as both claim to be rightful successors of the Russian Empire.
