Siege of London (The Martian War)[]

After the fall of Paris, the Martians would quickly shift their attention in the British capital of London. As one of the remaining effective fighting force in Europe, the British people and it's armies would begin preparing for the inevitable sack of the city. Barricading every bits of road leading to the capital and arming themselves with whatever lethal weapon they can find.

When the first wave struck at 6:00 AM in the morning of the 10th of February, 1916 the army was unprepared as they we're still sleeping in the barracks. However, the civilian militia lead by a handful of unidentified men we're stationed in the trenches. They we're pinned down and almost en-circled at the northern boroughs until the RAF arrived and shot down a few before managing to retreat deeper into central London.

Hearing the news of the attack, the Home Guard qucikly scrambled, taking their rifles and some of them didn't even wore the proper gear to sustain damage from shrapnel or any kind of harm in the trenches. Major General Birdwood who was in-charge of the Home Guard quickly ordered the artillery batteries to be operational in order to lay suppressive fire on the advancing Martians.

Meanwhile, the remnants of the French Army numbering around 12,000-15,000 men joined the British Home Guard in the defense from the north. Joseph Joffre would remain in central London and would take command from his quarters there.

As the RAF continue pounding the Martians whilst they advance, the Civilian Milita would launch small offensives into no man's land in an attempt to slow down the Martian advance but all efforts we're futile as they we're quickly blown up into pieces as they got out of the trenches.

With the Martians fastly approaching, the artillery batteries would quickly fire mustard gas into the Martian lines. In their own luck, mustard gas would be proven effective as the Martians weren't able to battle head on with Earth's bacteria therefore they would simply collapse and die in a few minutes.

With the tides easily turning just like that, the Civilian Milita would launch a counter-attack with 5,000 men followed by the Home Guard and the French Army. Many of the Martians we're still standing but we're quickly picked off by mortars, grenades and molotov cocktails by the advancing defenders.

As the Siege of London was being lifted, the Martians quickly began to pull off from the city and stop the advance. Many we're left in the field as the Martians withdraw causing many to die from the bacteria and captured.

With the Siege of London lifted, the people of London would rejoice and the news would spread towards America which caused public opinion to go pro-war and therefore just a week after in the 19th of June, 1916 the United States enters the war.
