The Socialist State of Cuba is a nation located in the Caribbean. It suffered greatly by the pandemic, losing nearly 20% of its population. Today it has regained much of its glory, and now is considered one of the three major nations in the Caribbean, next to the South American Union, and the Republic of Cemden. It currently is locked in a Cold war with Cemden, and tensions are very high after the recent missile test by Cuba, which has resulted in Cemden establishing a blockade. Cuba is a member of the World Assembly.

Economy[]
The economy of Cuba is a largely state-controlled, centrally planned economy overseen by the Cuban government, though there remains significant foreign investment from the USSR. Most of the means of production are owned and run by the government, and most of the labor force is employed by the state. In the year 2000, public sector employment was 76% and private sector employment was 23%. The Cuban economy is entirely dependent upon on Agriculture and Mining for income.
Sugarcane[]
Being a tropical climate, sugarcane production comes natural to Cuba. During the Pandemic sugarcane production was non existent, but it gradually recovered in the early 90's. However, sugar production has fallen from approximately 8 million metric tons to 3.2 million metric tons in the 2000s, due to a new species of Plant Lice that arrived on the island from a South American Freighter.
Tobacco[]
Cuba has the second largest area planted with tobacco of all countries worldwide. Tobacco production in Cuba has remained about the same since the late 1990s. Cigars are a famous Cuban product worldwide and almost the whole production is exported. Tobacco is the third largest source of hard currency for Cuba. The income derived from the cigars is estimated at $200 million. The two main varieties grown in Cuba are Corojo and Criollo. 85% of the tobacco grown in Cuba is produced by peasant farmers.
Fruit[]
Bananas and Citrus are another major export of Cuba. Cuba is the world's third largest producer of grapefruit. Sixty percent of the citrus production are oranges, 36% grapefruit. In the citrus production the first foreign investment in Cuba's agricultural sector took place: In 1991, the participation of an enterprise from the USSR. The production and processing of citrus is in the Jagüey Grande area, approximately 140 km (90 mi) east of the former city of Havana. The products are mainly marketed in Europe under the brand name Cubanita.
Rice[]
Rice plays a major role in the Cuban diet. Rice in Cuba is mostly grown along the western coast. There are two crops per year. The majority of the rice farms are state-farms or belong to co-operatives. Cuba has been a major exporter of rice. Recently, the annual rice exports have approached 500 000 tonnes of milled rice. The production of rice is limited,however due to the shortage of water and similar to other industries in Cuba the lack of fertilizers and modern agricultural technology.
Mining[]
The most important mineral resource is nickel, of which Cuba has the world's second largest reserves (after the USSR). Cuba is the world's fifth-largest producer of refined cobalt, a byproduct of nickel mining operations. Recent oil exploration has revealed that the North Cuba Basin could produce approximately 4.6 billion barrels (730,000,000 cu m) to 9.3 billion barrels (1.48×109cu m) of oil. In 2006, Cuba started to test-drill these locations for possible exploitation.

Air force[]
The following aircraft are in use by the Cuban Air force
- The L-39 and Mil-24 function as the attack craft of the Cuban Air force
- MiG- 17, MiG-19, and the MiG-21 are the main fighters of the Cuban Air force
- The L-39 also functions as the Cuban Air force trainer
- The Mil-8,Mil-17, and An-24 are the transports of the Cuban Air force.
There is 210 Aircraft in the Cuban Air force.
Foreign Relations[]
Cuba has maintained strong relations with fellow Communist Nations, especially the USSR. In recent years, it has established its own model of the Warsaw Pact, this time with fellow Caribbean Nations, and it is the leading "Superpower" of the group. This group is known as the Red Alliance, and it is locked in a bitter cold war with the Republic of Cemden and its Allies.
Cuba also maintains warm relations with the South American Union (SAU). SAU usually acts as the go between Cuba and Cemden. Cuba currently has a Trade agreement with SAU.
Entertainment and News[]
Cuba lacks most forms of recreational electronics, with the only cable station and radio station being State run CCTV and CCR (Communist Cuba TV, and Communist Cuba Radio). It is hoped one day the government will allow freer access to outside media.
Sports[]
Soccer and Chess have remained the maintained their position as Cuban pastimes, with the Cuban Chess Team winning the 1998 International Chess Tournment (ICT).
