Sonic the Hedgehog (Russian: Приключения Соника) is a Soviet cartoon series created by Soyuzmultfilm. It was pretty obscure, unlike the video games based on it.

Sonic: The Story from Magic Island (June 23, 1951) - The peaceful life of Sonic, Tails, and the animals is shown. Sonic, Tails, and the animals make their debuts.
The Evil Doctor (November 24, 1952) - Magic Island gets taken over by Dr. Robotnik and Sonic has to save Tails and the animals. Dr. Robotnik and Metal Sonic make their debuts.
The Colonization of Little Planet (September 23, 1953) - Little Planet was colonized by Dr. Robotnik, and Sonic and Tails have to save the animals and Amy. Amy makes her debut.
Danger on Angel Island (February 2, 1954) - Sonic and Tails have a vacation on Angel Island, but Robotnik tricked Knuckles to help him take over the island. Knuckles makes his debut. Amy is not present in this episode.
Sonic and the Chaotix (April 21, 1955) - Sonic meets a group called the Chaotix. Charmy, Ray and Mighty make their debuts.
Sonic the Hedgehog: The Battle (August 16, 1956) - Sonic and his friends fight Eggrobo. Charmy is not present in this episode. Eggrobo makes his debut.

Legacy[]

The show was obscure outside of post-Soviet countries and Russia, but it was not forgotten because it was expanded into a big and popular video game franchise.

Adaptations[]

Most episodes of the show and movies were adapted by SEGA into video games. Scratch, Grounder and Coconuts were put into Adventures of Sonic the Hedgehog, a different show. The Friendly Birds from the episode of the same name were later the inspiration for Angry Birds.

Season 1[]

The theme song is "Sonic the Hedgehog Theme" by Masato Nakamura. The intro is the same as Sonic the Hedgehog (1991)'s intro, except that the "PRESS START BUTTON" font was used for the episode name.

Season 2[]

The theme song is the Sonic and Tails title screen theme. The intro is similar to that game's title screen, with the same episode name font as Season 1, and the background being empty.
