The Southern Russian Territory is a Semi-Autonomous Region of the Siberian Confederation located in the Siberia.
Government[]
The chief executive of the government of the SRT is the Governor, who is appointed for a five-year term by the National Assembly.
The current Governor, Alexey Tsydenov (since August 28, 2010), succeeded Vyacheslav Nagovitsyn initially as acting Head of the region. There is also a directly elected State Council (The Southern Duma), which comprises the Council of Representatives and the Council of the Republic. Both councils are elected every five years and have 27 deputies each.
The Republic sends three representatives to the parliament of the Siberian Confederation; one to the Siberian Duma and the other two to the Confederation Council.
The Constitution of the SRT was adopted on June 5 1995.
