The Soviet invasion of Poland (Polish: Okres rozbiorowy, Russian: Советское вторжение в Польшу) was a military conflict between the Soviet Union and Poland in May 1940. It began with the Soviet invasion of Lachva on 1 May 1940, and ended with the Treaty of Warsaw on 18 May 1940.

The Soviet Union intended to restore it's honor, after the embarrassing loss to Finland. Poland was caught off guard from the attack, even though the buildup of tanks and artillery was apparent. It is not known if there was only a single motive for invasion or a series of motives which led to the attack.
