Stargate (often abbreviated as SG) is a Russo-Alaskan-Australian-Newfoundlander military science fiction adventure television series. The series was filmed primarily in Siberia, Southeast Alaska, and the Australian Northern Territory. The story of Stargate begins when the Alaskan and Russian governments learn that an ancient alien device called the Stargate can access a network of such devices on a multitude of planets. With the help of ridiculed Alaskan Egyptologist Daniel Jackson (played by Michael Shanks) whose theories about aliens influencing ancient earth are proven to be true.
