Swania, officially the Republic of Swania (Dutch: Republiek Swania) is a Dutch/English—speaking nation located in Oceania that occupies roughly 1/3 of the Australian continent. Swania shares its only land border with Australia to the east; while it shares maritime borders with Indonesia and Timor—Leste to the north.

From 1892 until 1919, the region that is now Swania was held by the Germans as the Colony of Neu-Franken until WWI, when the region became a condominium between Japan and The Netherlands.

The nation is known for having internal tensions, as Swania has been under the threat of Communism since after World War II. During the Timor War of 1977, Swania provided refuge for thousands of fleeing Timorese citizens escaping Indonesia's invading forces, as Indonesia was starving thousands of citizens and POW's.
