Swedish Finland was an autonomous region of Sweden (It will be refereed to Finland throughout this article). Finland has been under the crown of Sweden for over a century. Finland has been playing a large role in garrisoning the Swedish forces during the Russo-Swedish border conflicts. This led to Finland being more integrated to Sweden. Sweden conquered Finland very easily during 1600s due to Finland previously nothing more than a bunch of settlements without any official legislature and government. The flag was made by a Swedish flag designer. The coat of arms was a rejected Swedish coat of arms.

History[]

Finland was never really unified before Swedish occupation. The current capital of Helsinki was nothing more than a large settlement. When Sweden invaded in 1605 this led to the Swedish Finnish war. In the end the Finnish lost due to Language and ideological boundaries between settlement. Helsinki was became the capital of the autonomous region in 1610. Once Sweden entered the scene in Finland many big changes were made like an official legislature. After Finland became a part of Sweden Finland did not resist. There were not riots on the streets. Among the integration Finland was given the motto Finland Forever by its first Governor Carl Emil whose Great grandson will be the 3rd governor of Finland.

Finland accepted the Swedish monarchy rule. In return for obedience Finland was given large sums of money from Sweden. This was relatively good for Sweden so they can send men to overseas colonies such as the gold coast and new Sweden. Due to Swedish neutrality during the Seven years War Finland remained neutral as well.

Economy[]

Finland in this timeline is very rich in gold and natural materials. This led to Swedes buying plots of land and building mines on said plot of land. Due to Finland's proximity to Sweden it was easy to integrate the Swedish Krona. The mines made Sweden and Finland very wealthy,

Swedish and Finnish Troops

Finland is allowed to have a military but at a maximum of 10,000 men. During most of the Russo-Swedish Border Conflicts Finland only had about 2,500 when the first phase of the border conflicts started. By the end of the conflicts Finland had 5,000 men in the field. The field marshal for Finland is Adolf Hiens he was not allowed to participate in the first phase of the border conflicts due to Sweden wanted to keep it a Swedish Russian issue and did not want to drag Finland into the conflict. After the Russians sent troops into the remote named Tulppio Finland was allowed to arm the border with Finnish troops.
