nice, good work, and... please dont write hundred articles about city towns country who did not do it, or die faster, all of them are almost the same, maybe you can write a like "very similar to this city was happen to...Albuquerque, Diene, Copenganen and many others else--Fero 03:30, December 10, 2009 (UTC)
I hope there is a chance of this state being reserected. I just don't like reading articles like this. 1983: Doomsday may be dystopic, but I do not want a bunch of articles on nations or people that died or fell to pieces. There is no practicall purpose of informing us about states that do not exist or function in the 1983: Doomsday timeline as of December 2009 --Yankovic270 03:57, December 10, 2009 (UTC)
- I disagree with both of you. Yank, States that have already risen and fallen are part of this timeline. This is alternate history, after all, and that does imply events of the past. Fero, I cannot imagine what is wrong with more detail. It adds depth and richness to the fictional world. Benkarnell 04:53, December 10, 2009 (UTC)
Fero, Yank, thanks, but I disagree. After all, this entire timeline is based on a nuclear war where entire nations collapsed and billions of people died. It's practical and important to know what happened in places where things went badly. People dying and cities falling apart suck to write and read about, and it's not something I want to write about a hundred times. But it's important, IMO to have one scenario where readers can see the "negative" side. Not everything in a nuclear war timeline can be sunny and rosy and involve great nation-states arising out of the ashes. Ben, thanks for the kind words.--BrianD 20:16, December 10, 2009 (UTC)
sorry peeps my sister was using the computer for an assignment and i hust had my tea about the article I would have to agree with ben that the timeline focuses on a fictional nuclear war and the article needs more depth --Owen1983 22:52, December 10, 2009 (UTC)
R.E.M[]
Athens was the home town of Rock Group R.E.M. I did some research and found out that would have been in athens during most of spetmber 1983. Do any think they would have surrived the collaspe of the Athens goverment. If they did what have happen to theam. Goldwind1 (talk) 01:52, January 23, 2013 (UTC)
While you are correct about them being there at DD - they seem to have been on a few months break from their tour - there'd be no way that they would get out. Lordganon (talk) 13:44, January 23, 2013 (UTC)
I still feel that R.E.M. If they survived I feel they would have lived on a farm outside of Athens for a while. I believe they would have abandoned Athens after meeting scouts from Rome, sometime around September 2012 . I feel that they may have gain some fame in Rome for a song about Doomsday called It's The End Of The World As We Know It (And I Feel Fine) . This song would not sound a thing like their OTL song of the same nameGoldwind1 (talk) 20:29, January 25, 2013 (UTC)
They would not have survived. It's more or less guaranteed, Gold. There was next to no survivors from what happened in Athens. Lordganon (talk) 11:48, January 26, 2013 (UTC)
Personal Journals[]
Does any any like the idea abot scouts form Rome visting the ruins of Athens and finding a journal written by Bill Barry. The journal innclued a song about bill postdoomsday expernces ironicly called It's the end of the world as we know it and i feel fine. One the the meambers of the exepation was muscialy talnet and went on to form a band and peformed the song form the journal.
