Have you been playing Empire Earth II by any chance? --Sikulu 10:11, 30 March 2007 (UTC)

The Aztecs were not defeated by Cortes - they were defeated by small pox. A second group of Spaniards arrived in 1520 with the intent to stop Cortes from messing up relations with the New World empires. One African slave in that group had small pox and the disease spread to all central America. The disease killed around 90% of the indigenous peoples.

Your POD is in 1521, so it is already too late for the Aztecs. You need a different POD or a different timeline.

- If you pick a POD prior to 1520 you may delay the introduction of small pox. Perhaps the Aztecs could adopt some of the new world technology before they are devastated by the disease and retain enough of the technology to resist the Castilians.

- You could keep your POD and have the Aztecs depopulated by smallpox while the Spaniards are not a threat. When the Spaniards return they find a nearly empty country. The Mayan empire, for example, had fallen long before this time and the Yucatan was mostly jungle. The Spaniards took over 200 years to defeat the new-Maya where it took only 2 years to defeat the Aztecs. So if the Aztecs succumb to smallpox before the Spanish armies can take advantage of that fact, then the Spanish may well not be able to take over all of central America, and a new Aztec-like civilization may be able to arise. Can whoever is changing the stuff im doing on this please stop, the world war 2 part doesn't match up to the stuff i have already writen, and that bugs me Das Taub

Try looking at Aztec expansion north and south prior to modernisation, or take the POD right back to the Zapotecs and have them use copper for smelting and weaponry instead of sacrifice... could have worked! User:Louisiannan

Honestly this article kinda insults the Aztec Empire, making them having to adopt a european culture to flourish? That's retarded and rather racist, sure the Aztecs probably would have picked up some influences from Europe, such as firearms, metal-work, and the like, but I doubt the entire culture would have been replaced by European culture. With their religion in tact they can preserve a lot of their traditions, and whether human sacrifice remained is really irrelevant. Europe only became a world powerful region after their success in colonizing the western hemisphere.....at that time the civilizations of the far east, like China, were just as advanced. Wealth from conquests is what led to later European dominance in world affairs. If they could not colonize the civilizations in America then they (Europe) would have only recovered from their dark age and remain at the same level as the rest of the world. The Renaissance would have probably re-vitalized European intellectual life, but it probably wouldn't have become as powerful is it did. And of course no USA would exist, LOL! The events leading to British colonies where they were probably wouldn't have occured the way they did or at all. 98.234.190.14 06:08, October 26, 2009 (UTC)

Religious Reforms[]

you stated that priest in general were massacre due to a backlash against human sacrifice. Not every gods however demanded them so you might have instead a more specialised massacre of gods' clerics like those of tezcatlicopa but other gods, chief among them Quetzalcoatl, might be spared. This could even lead to the adoption of a monotheistic religion in Aztec land with the featered serpent being the main focus of worship and other gods being relegated to the status of "Quetzalcoatl's messengers" or some such thing.--Marcpasquin 10:34, 15 February 2008 (EST)

The Incans and their Cats[]

You do realize the Incans worshipped the puma, not the jaguar right? I've never even heard of jaguars being that far south, I could be wrong though. Mr.Xeight

World Wars[]

Spain not having a American empire from which it could draw gold for hundreds of years would already change European history profoundly in the 16th Century, and these changes should multiply in later times. It would be highly unlikely, to say the least, to have a recogniseable First and Second World Wars in the 20th Century. Adam Keller

Though Spain wasn't really a major factor is World War One or Two, nor really anything that would be a factor leading to the World War. And perhaps Spain colonized gold carrying areas in America away from the Aztecs and Incas.--66.66.212.182 02:15, 14 November 2008 (UTC)

Applause for Aztec Empire[]

I have been intrigued by alternative history since rdg. H. Beam Piper yrs. ago. Your Aztec Empire timeline is very entertaining & plausible. Many rdrs. would enjoy historical fiction that expands on what you've already proposed. I, myself, would love to see a Doc Savage pastiche set in your Aztec Empire world. Who invented the automobile on this timeline, what are its makes & models? What about television & television networks? What about professional sports & the Olympics? Hawwai?)--Fero 16:28, 3 March 2009 (UTC)

This is one of, if not THE best timeline on this wiki. I have a few ideas for one or two future wars that I'd love to work into this TL

Proposal:American-Aztec Cold War, Who Will Be The Victor?:FascistBritian[]

I think you should add a cold war between the aztecs and americans and with the Inca Empire split up into two zones: one for the Azt. and one for the americans also the inca capital would be split up and the victor should be.......

Proposal: Fascist Rise In Spain, leading to a unwanted war in South and Central America[]

Simple: Spain should have a power struggle in which Fascist win, and a rearment would take underplace in spain for the invasion of various American Nations, especialy the Aztec Empire.....:FascistBritan 03:26, February 22, 2010 (UTC)FascistBritan

Verrrrrry interesting. Since the Spanish and the Aztecs (presumably) are enemies, there must be a war in the making. For there to be fascists in Spain there needs to be economic devastation, mass resentment from a failed war or a dispute, and a man of considerable charisma.

Flag[]

Flag of the Aztec Empire

Flag I made.

Hello there. I am an artist and an althistory writer here. I love the idea of this timeline, and I wanted to help out a little. I have found it weird that there isn't a flag for the Aztec Empire other than a very unresolved one. I decided to make up something with Inkscape. It's not much, but I thought it would be interesting to do. If you want to use it, please feel free to. --NuclearVacuum 01:33, May 17, 2010 (UTC)

Translation[]

I will make a translation from your wonderful Story in German. But I need time and take all pieces step for step together.

Hello dear friends. Greetings from Germany. I'm going to translate your very well-written story into German. Can I only use this story if it is literally translated? Or can I vary the story freely? I'm not very careful about the copyrights, but I'd like to know your opinion first.
