Alliances[]

Wouldn't it make sense for the Aliens to already have alliances with one another? CourageousLife (talk) 20:36, January 30, 2013 (UTC)

Yes. I'll be posting a Galactic Council page within the next few days. In the meantime, go on some talk pages and round up some private alliances! CrimsonAssassin (talk) 21:50, January 30, 2013 (UTC)

EFFING hell. Why do I only find out about this via the wikiactivity thing? Does nobody think I'd be interested? Does no one care? *sobs quietly in corner*

Well, then I'll acede to Pita.

Out of curiosity, why has Dean (and it was Dean, according to wikiactivity) put himself on as the plausibility checker?

I've thought about doing some narratives on this myself. I will be making a lore page (working on that now, actually)

Name of the game[]

Does any one else feel this is a bit like AvA, crossed with BFE? Somewhat like Pride and Predjudice and Zombies, only here it's Axis versus Allies and Aliens.

hehe.

"Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes."  00:35, February 1, 2013 (UTC)

Start of the game[]

Wait, so basically, as the nations of Earth gear up for war, the numerous alien races of the galaxy decide to unite to ensure that they do not emerge into the galactic neighborhood as warlike as they currently are. But when they get there, so change their minds.

... but at the start of the game they're all working- albeit tacitly- together, under a single, central command.

I presume this doesn't apply to the Imperium of Man? Seeing as they are an alternate version of those selfsame humans...

Also, what's the name of this unified command?

"Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes."  00:32, February 1, 2013 (UTC)

One: No, we are not united. We are just doing our thing and the main powers [Dravimos, Regen, Terran, Azar, Mech (even if they're not playing, they are at the core of every BFE game)] are monitoring Earth.

Also, I think the Imperium should not exist as it will cause a paradox. The Imperium already knows what's going to happen and any and all changes will interfere with the future, leading to one of two things:

  1. The Imperium does not form, ensuring that they do not come back in time, thus changing anything that happens in the game.
  2. The Imperium does not come back in time, resulting in the same aftershocks.

Essentially, this cycle will continue infinitely, causing the largest paradox known to history.

As such, I think Pita should create something other than the Imperium.

"Fear the power of the Dark Side of the Force."  00:58, February 1, 2013 (UTC)

Hmm... good point. I'll change it to a different dimension where totally different stuff happened. PitaKang- (We are the Emperor's Chosen|Ave Imperator!) 01:52, February 1, 2013 (UTC)

Hold on, hold on. If this is based on the 40k Imperium, I can tell you (as a longtime contributor on the 40k fanon wiki), that the Imperium cannot know what will happen since all history before its creation (including that after) is a total mystery. Thus so, Pita's Imperium can exist since no matter what they will never know what happened in the past (so sayth the almighty book of God). Vivaporius: "I don't need a slogan" 01:24, February 4, 2013 (UTC)

That is true, cause of the Dark Ages and all the random shit that happened. But I'll still do the "other dimension" thingy. PitaKang- (We are the Emperor's Chosen|Ave Imperator!) 23:57, February 5, 2013 (UTC)

No, no! I think we should just have it split down the middle- some aliens protect Earth, others destroy it.

If not, I say we go BFE-TF-esque.

Realy?[]

How come nobody told me about this? I loved the BFE games...and have been part of each one...except for maybe the one before this, but thats because it did not move forward at all and i thought it died before it started...so there...in anycase, it sucks that the Ori took all of my territory i held in the past...unless the map is still in flux...the Azaranians...have returned.-Lx (leave me a message) 23:53, February 5, 2013 (UTC)

The Ori are wayyyy too large IMO. Same with Regen. PitaKang- (We are the Emperor's Chosen|Ave Imperator!) 23:56, February 5, 2013 (UTC)

...Regen are smaller than before.

Also, since space is three dimensional, territory can overlap.

"Fear the power of the Dark Side of the Force."  23:57, February 5, 2013 (UTC)

ya, I was thinking, colonies can overlap, since there can't be settlements in every singel star system, and those systems can overlap in that "territory" witch is mostly claim.-Lx (leave me a message) 00:02, February 6, 2013 (UTC)

Lore Page[]

I made one. Anyone interested? PitaKang- (We are the Emperor's Chosen|Ave Imperator!) 00:09, February 6, 2013 (UTC)

Imperium of Man[]

The Imperium of Man has just emerged out of a strange time-hole-loop-dimension-wormhole. And yet they already have conquered a sizable portion of the galaxy. Where as other races which have existed for longer here than them hold less. Contradiction, anyone...?            "Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes."  00:30, February 7, 2013 (UTC)

Hey, as a long time player, and mod for all BFE games, I would like to have my traditional territory or at least part of that territory, and the Ori are way too big...-Lx (leave me a message) 00:40, February 7, 2013 (UTC)

I agree. Seriously, downsize both of them.

And add Azarath.            "Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes."  00:55, February 7, 2013 (UTC)

We emerged like 500,000 years ago. PitaKang- (We are the Emperor's Chosen|Ave Imperator!) 19:52, February 7, 2013 (UTC)

In fact lets downsize everything. It's not fun when the Regen hold like 30% of the galaxy. And it's not plausible anyways- there's no way they could have conquered all that in less than a million years. PitaKang- (We are the Emperor's Chosen|Ave Imperator!) 19:53, February 7, 2013 (UTC)

I think the game would be funner with smaller empires. PitaKang- (We are the Emperor's Chosen|Ave Imperator!) 22:41, February 7, 2013 (UTC)

How many times are we going to go over this?

"Fear the power of the Dark Side of the Force."  23:05, February 7, 2013 (UTC)

Many, many times. PitaKang- (We are the Emperor's Chosen|Ave Imperator!) 23:15, February 7, 2013 (UTC)

Wait, what? Now I'm confused. If you guys emerged like 500,000 years ago into our galaxy, then how can you only be 40,000 years old? And why have the rest of us not heard of you?

Hehe. Really cool plot twist here would be that as the alien races fight over Earth, the last remaining humans build a gigantic Ark and attempt faster than light travel. Their calculations are off, and they instead go into a parallel dimension. Then another weird event transports them back here, as the I of M... thus causing the events of TNT...

And as Pita said, Scraw, Imp, downsize your empires. Mine too, maybe, though not that much.

"Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes."  23:59, February 7, 2013 (UTC)

Imperium of Man[]

Here's the backstory. Yeah I changed it up a lot.

About 50 years ago a wormhole transported 1 million Imperium worlds into the Unknown Regions of this galaxy. They were all bunched up, not spread out like in WH40K. Questions? PitaKang- (We are the Emperor's Chosen|Ave Imperator!) 22:43, February 7, 2013 (UTC)

IoM[]

Guys. Again. If the IoM has existed here for 50 years- then how the hell have they conquered that much of the galaxy?             "Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes."  00:02, February 11, 2013 (UTC)

...Because that part of the galaxy they landed in was the "unknown regions" and the 1 million planets landed there? PitaKang- (We are the Emperor's Chosen|Ave Imperator!) 00:03, February 11, 2013 (UTC)

Really, all I want is for some random unknown faction to suddenly pop in (IoM) that takes everyone by surprise. PitaKang- (We are the Emperor's Chosen|Ave Imperator!) 00:06, February 11, 2013 (UTC)

Restart[]

I think we should restart the game... right now the game has little activity and is very confusing. What I would suggest for the restart is...

No super-canon races like Mech, Regen, Terran, etc.

Instead of being of the entire galaxy, it's of a small sector of the galaxy comprising of a few hundred planets.

An algorithm for taking individual planets. Any thoughts?

PitaKang- (We are the Emperor's Chosen|Ave Imperator!) 00:11, February 11, 2013 (UTC)

Better idea.

A) We actually get an algorithm, as Pita said. But for wars, not planets.

B) Canon races like the Mech or Regen can exist- we have to keep SOME of the game's lore- but they will be the same bloody size as all the others.

C) It's the whole galaxy- but not all of it is conquered.

"Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes."  00:23, February 11, 2013 (UTC)

No, I really hate the huge scale that's involved in everything... really takes the "map" out of map game. I like the idea of the small sector with each empire owning like 100-200 planets. That way we can have proper wars. PitaKang- (We are the Emperor's Chosen|Ave Imperator!) 00:58, February 11, 2013 (UTC)

That's a fair point.

"Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes."  01:09, February 11, 2013 (UTC)
aaa

I'm absolutely with Pita then. Restart the game, downsize the scale, and get a bloody algorithm.             "Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes."  20:08, February 11, 2013 (UTC)

Guys, keep in mind that retcons ALWAYS kill the BFE games. We should make Earth more important though. CrimsonAssassin (talk) 12:38, February 12, 2013 (UTC)

Now, I do hate myself for saying this, but perhaps we should ditch this one and start anew. Again. Regardless of what you choose, let me know if a new game appears.

Monster Pumpkin (talk) 22:44, February 12, 2013 (UTC)

Just a new thought, if we start a new game, perhaps we should create the page, and then have a waiting period to sort out all the details and rules before starting.

Monster Pumpkin (talk) 22:46, February 12, 2013 (UTC)

I would like to restart. But keep in mind this is a BFE game. We have to keep some of the lore and preferable the "canon" races in some way shape or form. And no mechs that are 65 millions years old. if you make an age limit, it should apply to them aswell. Perhaps we could downsize scale to the orion arm or a quarter or even a third of the galaxy we should get a planet algorithm, but it would be very hard to do, since we are dealing with alien races and technologies we make up. limit the uses of technologies, no blowing up stars or poisoning stars is always a good thing... one of the special things with humans is their outward resemblance to Azaranians, witch is why we established a xeno-evolution and culture research station. There is the forge, witch would be important for races with dying stars, or just people seeking to use it as a weapon, or overpopulated nations. maybe something to do with the chemical compositoin of the sol system that makes it special perhaps a rare mineral that is present or and abundance of exotic matter or dark energy that makes FTL possible, only detectable because of our superior tech that the humans are oblivious to... Something special for Sol. Perhaps an importance because an ancient spacefaring race maybe worshiped by some as gods lived there for a while and left ruins far underground or in mountain ranges with technology beond everyone's undestanding...perhaps earth would have been their capital and they rode dinosaurs...just for the lulz...only to dissapear from a plague that devoured their bodies in entirety...to a different galaxy. Those who wish to preserve it and study it, and then there might be those who wish genocide on the humans for desecrating the planet of the gods with their unworthy existance... but we should maybe notify all players next time that this is starting...and have peolpe create plausible scenario for their species' interest in earth other than just because it is earth, and we as players of this game live on it...-Lx (leave me a message) 15:59, February 13, 2013 (UTC)

Lets all agree on one thing; so far, this isn't working. Not even one BFE game has made it. We need to cahnge things up.

I personally thing we should go for BFE:The Forge II. Then we have all the details we want, loads of space (this is the entire Oort cloud, after all. The original failed because of PMII syndrome, but another, now...

"Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes."  00:08, February 14, 2013 (UTC)

also, I think that the alien could be have a advanced only like two thousands year ago to make the human maybe have a very but very small chance to fight back if united. the alien would have basicely advanced version of human weapons and overall technology but could be near developping a laser or anything very ahead, a  small shield that it is still possible to break with effort could be possible. All this to only give a more equal chance to anybody and not cause a world conquest in twenty years. Rdv65 (talk) 01:57, February 14, 2013 (UTC)

Right. My response to all this might take a while because I need to reply to a few things brought up in this. Firstly, Lx, the Mechs have been like this every game. The only reason I'd give them exceptions is because they're machines (thus limiting ambitions organics would have) and their empire is more of a network than a physical empire. Regarding the size of the map, I like the idea of downsizing it to the local cluster. Originally, I wanted the galactic map to not be the main focus since the territories wouldn't be changing much in half a century (space is huge). We just need an explaination regarding why we can't leave said cluster. I would like to fine-tune this for the enjoyment of everyone. Discussing this on the talk page would be way too time-consuming. A skype session, however, may allow for this to go by quicker. Anyone up for this? I'd like to invite all mods/long-time players to attend. Any time is good for me, though remember that I'm on the east coast of the US, so my time may be different from other people's. CrimsonAssassin (talk) 14:25, February 14, 2013 (UTC)

I would love to have a Skype session. Much less time consuming. Time is not an issue for me(at least for now. I live In Quebec. People, if you are not comfortable using your regular skupe(sharing of personal info and whatnot or other reasons), you can always just create a seperate Skype account for the purposes of this for free. Anyone willing, write your Skype name(not registered name) and time zone. Remember, this DOES NOT have to be your main Skype...account creation is free-Lx (leave me a message) 22:30, February 14, 2013 (UTC)

"Fear the power of the Dark Side of the Force."  22:34, February 14, 2013 (UTC)

We don't need a reason on why we can't leave- we're just not advanced enough to conquer millions of planets. That's all. PitaKang- (We are the Emperor's Chosen|Ave Imperator!) 23:15, February 14, 2013 (UTC)

I don't have any of these, and I'm kind of busy lately. My sentiment is that we give users too much freedom to basically do whatever they well please, and making contact with earth is a rocky start, since no one knows where to begin. This game needs some new rules and safety guards to make sure everything is running smoothly. Good luck with the hangout. CourageousLife (talk) 20:17, February 15, 2013 (UTC)

Anything decided?[]

"Very funny, Scotty. Now beam down my clothes."  00:24, February 26, 2013 (UTC)

Really?[]

This has nothing to do with alternate history, and instead delves into the realm of science fiction.
