Can I join the game?- Ownerzmcown 21:38, June 21, 2010 (UTC)

Also, can I create my own sphere of influence/union of states?

Sure! Although it cannot be in North America or Europe. Arstarpool 21:43, June 21, 2010 (UTC)

Does it have to have actually be real, or can I completely make it up?

You can make it up. However, if it is something like the Confederated League of Immortal Atheist Democrats, then obviously it will not be allowed. Arstarpool 21:52, June 21, 2010 (UTC)

Can I be NATO? BoredMatt 22:05, June 21, 2010 (UTC)

Also, as there are really only two major alliances, can there be teams for an aliance?

Yea, everyone belongs to a country. Just choose your country, although the US, Canada, and UK can have 2-3 members. Same with the USSR. Arstarpool 22:09, June 21, 2010 (UTC)

Oky-doky, I'll just be the USA. BoredMatt 22:16, June 21, 2010 (UTC)

Also, wouldn't the USSR control the Caucasus and Central Asia?

Whoops, I forgot to put them in, when you do the next turn, fill in all the mistakes I made. Arstarpool 22:41, June 21, 2010 (UTC)

NOTE: You no longer have to ask to be part of it. Arstarpool 22:41, June 21, 2010 (UTC)

What do you necessarily mean when you say sphere of influence? And I want to join on NATO's side. ProfessorMcG 22:43, June 21, 2010 (UTC)

As in the USA is in the NATO sphere, Russia is WP, OTL Arabia is OPEC, etc. BoredMatt 22:47, June 21, 2010 (UTC)

Nevermind, I called Japan. So basically, so we could create our own sphere, like I could join the losers of World War II sphere? ProfessorMcG 22:51, June 21, 2010 (UTC)

Yes, but the Unaligned is for admins only. Japan is a puppet state of NATO, so, sorry but move on up to the battlefield. The Soviets are waiting. Arstarpool 23:05, June 21, 2010 (UTC)

Remember that you must put a map up for every edit. Also remember that this is a "War" map game. Sooner or later there must be an armed conflict. Arstarpool 23:52, June 21, 2010 (UTC)

So wait, Japan can't become a member of the SCO? Ownerzmcown 23:54, June 21, 2010 (UTC)

Yea, Macarthur basically set up a puppet state for the US, and the Japanese were pretty happy about it. Look were it got them OTL. It would be pretty hard for them to be pulled over into another alliance, let alone a socialist one. BoredMatt 00:02, June 22, 2010 (UTC)

It is not Socialist, just because China is communist doesn't mean the others are, India, Indonesia, and Burma are all at this time still democratic republics, they just want a way to be thoroughly protected from Soviet agressions, after all they are anti-Soviet, even China.

The communist schism didn;t happen until 1960, just read that China was pretty cozy with the Russians up until then. And also, India is still part of the Commonwealth (at least you didn't have them leave), so how does that work out? And what possible reason would India have for joining a new organisation that is headed by socialists that are still friends with the USSR?

Haha, I don't know much about the Soviets. I can take control of them, but I don't doubt that most of what I say will be implausible, though inadvertant.ProfessorMcG 00:11, June 22, 2010 (UTC)

Arstarpool invite to the game, in Venezuela. Might I have my own Latin America Sphere of Influence and some type of South American "European Union"? Venezuela was the power of Latin America at the time.VENEZUELA 00:18, June 22, 2010 (UTC)

Sure, but there were some Western alligned nations, like Peru and Argentina, that were pretty good allies with the West, I doubt they would join. Currently, I would realisically see V. and Columbia with populations supporting a EU style thing, maybe Brazil as well. But, you being Venezualan, I guess you could guess better than me on these things. BoredMatt 00:26, June 22, 2010 (UTC)

Venezuela, Brazil was powerful too. Remember that this is a war map game and we are going to eventually have to have SOME sort of war break out. Arstarpool 00:30, June 22, 2010 (UTC)

Forgot Bolivia and Paruguay. :) BoredMatt 00:49, June 22, 2010 (UTC)

I'm sorry that I have to repeat myself, but remember that this was originally going to be a NATO Vs. Warsaw Pact Map Game. Don't get strayed off on stuff like going into space. Arstarpool 00:54, June 22, 2010 (UTC)

Nepal was one of the biggest supporters of the Commonwealth, why would they join the SCO? Ever heard of the Gurkhas? BoredMatt 00:55, June 22, 2010 (UTC)

@Arstarpool: I agree, but it's not that fun when there are really only two sides. It will be interesting to see how it pans out with four major powers. And what's wrong with starting the space race?

I have now, thanks to Wikipedia. Arstarpool 00:57, June 22, 2010 (UTC)

Bolivia and Paraguay were extremely good friends of Venezuela, specially Paraguay, it was ALMOST a puppet goverment.VENEZUELA 00:58, June 22, 2010 (UTC)

Nepal was never even an actual member of the Commonwealth, besides they have great relations with India which also has great relations with China Ownerzmcown 01:01. June 22, 2010 (UTC)

Spain dind't join NATO until 1982.VENEZUELA 01:58, June 22, 2010 (UTC)

Okay, I'll write it in. Due to rising tensions Spain will join in 1961.Arstarpool 02:05, June 22, 2010 (UTC)

Cuba never joins LAU. VENEZUELA 02:07, June 22, 2010 (UTC)

Can I join as Italy? Fedelede 13:02, June 22, 2010 (UTC)

Sorry Fedelede, we need some Warsaw Pact members. We have 2 and a half people on NATO and 1 person on Warsaw Pact...Arstarpool 15:25, June 22, 2010 (UTC)

2 and 1/2? BoredMatt 20:02, June 22, 2010 (UTC)

Members of Non-Aligned may contribute to both. However, it is reserved for the administrators. I will appoint a new administrator to this Map Game by 1980. Arstarpool 20:39, June 22, 2010 (UTC)

Just to say, everyones doing great! It's the second largest map game right now! Lets get it up to the first! Arstarpool 20:39, June 22, 2010 (UTC)

Meh. Czechslovakia? Fedelede 22:05, June 22, 2010 (UTC)

Great place, but not really the best nation to play, IMO. BoredMatt 22:06, June 22, 2010 (UTC)

Poland? Fedelede 22:10, June 22, 2010 (UTC)

I suppose. Doesn't look like McG is really playing the game, and hes on right now, so you could ask him to take over from him on the USSR. BoredMatt 22:13, June 22, 2010 (UTC)

Haha....sorry. I'm willing to play as the Soviets I'm just afraid to do it alone.ProfessorMcG 22:17, June 22, 2010 (UTC)

So can you just give full independence to Poland, Czechslovakia, or Romania? Fedelede 22:17, June 22, 2010 (UTC)

OK which one? Poland, Czechoslovakia, or Romania? ProfessorMcG 22:22, June 22, 2010 (UTC)

Czechslovakia. thank you :) Fedelede 22:23, June 22, 2010 (UTC)

Thats cool with me but I don't think they would be allowed to just drop out of the Soviet Union, NATO has to be involved or something or else it wouldn't make sense. ProfessorMcG 22:26, June 22, 2010 (UTC)

They were never part of the Soviet Union, just the WP. Just say that they got a new leader who isn't simply a puppet of the Soviets. BoredMatt 22:41, June 22, 2010 (UTC)

Professor McG, you need to get serious about this game, the Warsaw Pact hasn't moved in what seems like ages. Ownerzmcown 00:12, June 23, 2010 (UTC)

Yea dude, we can't play the Cold War if there is no USSR, no matter how powerful the SCO or LAU is. BoredMatt 00:14, June 23, 2010 (UTC)

Latin American Union?

While I appreciate that every continent is forming its' own block of power, this is beginning to become one of VENEZUELA's Venezuelan puppet-state expansionist regimes. I ask that you do not include all of the countries in Latin America because a lot of them disagreed with each other at the time.

Don't Worry Brazil, Argentina, and Chile, will not join, maybe in the next decades other countries will join.

Remember to keep it slow. These countries will not join very quick. It may take two decades for all Central America to get involved. And even then you must keep Panama and Costa Rica out for political reasons. Arstarpool 01:28, June 23, 2010 (UTC)

Someone needs to switch sides

We have three on NATO and allies, and 1 on Warsaw Pact. Either BoredMatt, Mumby, or Venezuela must switch over. Arstarpool 01:23, June 24, 2010 (UTC)

Get someone to switch sides and create a pro-Soviet power bloc like somewhere in the Carribean or Africa, their the only places not completely taken over by the other blocs, maybe in the Middle East. Ownerzmcown 01:46, June 24, 2010 (UTC)

When I try to create power bloc in the Middle East every one absolutely resists it. ProfessorMcG 02:01, June 24, 2010 (UTC)

I'd back you up, ask the others what you think. Ownerzmcown 2:02, June 24, 2010 (UTC)

After you resisted me you're ready to switch sides and allow me to do this? Ok, I just want Afghanistan as an ally first.

I can use Pakistan's resentment towards you. ProfessorMcG 02:09, June 24, 2010 (UTC)

Its not that I want to switch sides, but if it makes for a better game, I'm all for it, hell I'll pull SCO troops out of Afghanistan if I have to. Ownerzmcown 02:13, June 24, 2010 (UTC)

Czechslovakia will help the Soviet Union to improve spheres of influence on the Middle East... and we should really start WW3 here :D Fedelede 02:15, June 24, 2010 (UTC)

Fede, would you like to join the Warsaw Pact? Arstarpool 02:29, June 24, 2010 (UTC)

I'm already on Warsaw Pact. Czechslovakia was a puppet of the USSR on the age and I just made it fully independent, not made it leave Warsaw Pact. Fedelede 02:30, June 24, 2010 (UTC)

Oh, now that that's clear now I know I have an ally! Yay! ProfessorMcG 02:33, June 24, 2010 (UTC)

I'm sorry guys, I'm just not ready for another butt rape so soon after colonisation. ProfessorMcG 03:57, June 25, 2010 (UTC)

Nuclear War

Look, The game just started, I don't think that we should start a nuclear WW3 just yet, I'll take back the post about Afghanistan if you take back the post about the nukes.

Yea, I don't really care about this game. I mean a game where I have to work against 3 other international organizations just to do anything? Kinda not fun. ProfessorMcG 12:56, June 25, 2010 (UTC)

Woa, woa... sorry, but what happened? Why did the USSR nuke China? Fedelede 13:11, June 25, 2010 (UTC)

I'm pretty sure its because the SCO invaded Pakistan. Ownerzmcown 13:15, June 25, 2010 (UTC)

No. Just to force the issue =) ProfessorMcG 13:24, June 25, 2010 (UTC)

I just read up, turns out the Pakistanis had horrible relatons with the Soviet Union in the 60's Ownerzmcown 13:39, June 25, 2010

After the nuclear war, what is the approximate population of China now, its still over a billion right? Ownerzmcown 13:54, June 25, 2010

Umm... propably the population of China right now is just over 300 million, if not less. Fedelede 15:00, June 25, 2010 (UTC)

"SCO forces arrive in China to quarntine the people with radiation sickness and rioters." 90% of the population, that is? 200.116.237.248 16:01, June 25, 2010 (UTC)

Kaliningrad

How could NATO take over Kaliningrad? It's not connected to any NATO member of the age. Fedelede 15:00, June 25, 2010 (UTC)

They've nuked almost every single city you have......I'm thinking you have around 250 million, about like the US. BoredMatt 15:02, June 25, 2010 (UTC)

Kaliningrad was originally part of East Prussia, and the WP aren't really in a position to object. BoredMatt 15:26, June 25, 2010 (UTC)

  • sigh* Yes, but you CAN'T GET THERE. IT WAS NOT CONNECTED TO NATO. Fedelede 15:31, June 25, 2010 (UTC)
  • Also, the entire German population was expelled and russian settlers brought in. Almost the entire population of the Kaliningrad exclave is Russian. I'm doubting the russian populace would take too kindly about being handed over to Germany.Oerwinde 16:01, June 25, 2010 (UTC)
  • A: It's called the US Navy.
  • B: I also doubt the Russians would care, as their entire nation was just anialated.
  • BoredMatt 20:56, June 25, 2010 (UTC)
  • I don't doubt the Russians would care, as they would try to place independent order. Fedelede 23:15, June 25, 2010 (UTC)
  • Place independent order? BoredMatt 23:43, June 25, 2010 (UTC)
  • I don't know how to say it correctly. But Kaliningrad, if wanting to part with Moscow, or if Russia dissapeared, wouldn't just be ABSORBED by NATO. They would place an independent government. So if they invaded it, they would consider it an aggresion, and yes, they would rebel.
  • I guess you mean declare independence? BoredMatt 23:50, June 25, 2010 (UTC)

Soviet Union members

So...who is controlling the Soviet Union besides me, because I did not make half of these decisions on the Soviets' movements. ProfessorMcG 17:59, June 25, 2010 (UTC)

Not me, for sure. Fedelede 18:03, June 25, 2010 (UTC)

Venezuela, is it you who is editing the USSR? Fedelede 18:26, June 25, 2010 (UTC)

Venezuela, you're acting as a double agent! Shame on you! ProfessorMcG 20:10, June 25, 2010 (UTC)

Let's just delete everything Venezuela has said because that is officialy not what the USSR or the Warsaw Pact nations were going to do. ProfessorMcG 20:11, June 25, 2010 (UTC)

VENEZUELA = Gone

VENEZUELA should be banned from this map game because he/she has made a dozen moves using other peoples' nations. ProfessorMcG 20:14, June 25, 2010 (UTC)

What about rollback to before the nuclear war? Fedelede 20:15, June 25, 2010 (UTC)

sorry! I think that USSR divided was cool, just rollback the game before the nuclear war, but the soviet invasion to Afghanistan and Mongolia I dind't do it. VENEZUELA 20:31, June 25, 2010 (UTC)

Haha, I invaded Afghanistan. Not Mongolia, but wind it back. No big deal. ProfessorMcG 20:40, June 25, 2010 (UTC)

thank you!VENEZUELA 20:56, June 25, 2010 (UTC)

WTF Happened???

I go on vacation for two days and the USSR randomly nukes China? I'm sorry, but I've reversed the entire nuclear war. While I do not want to be a sadistic dictator for this map game, I am going to do two things:

  • The Latin American Union, which is becoming Vene's Venezuelan puppet union, will be disbanded IMMEDIATLEY.
  • Venezuela, since he edited other people's members, shall be given a WARNING.

No offense Venezuela, but you have to be on a certain team to edit it.

Also, you may now only join NATO or Warsaw...the SCO will not be deleted, but membership for it is closed. Arstarpool 01:41, June 28, 2010 (UTC)

Also Map Games are ending 1983:Doomsday, that's why I don't play them any more. VENEZUELA 01:51, June 28, 2010 (UTC)

So now, more countries can't join the SCO? Ownerzmcown 02:13, June 28, 2010 (UTC)

No more PEOPLE can join the SCO. Arstarpool 04:25, June 28, 2010 (UTC)

Can I join please?

I'd like to create an independence movement in the Central Asian states of the SU. Semyon E. Breyev 08:29, July 2, 2010 (UTC)

Fine by me, but you have to ask Astarpool, hes the mod here. BoredMatt 12:15, July 2, 2010 (UTC)

Lets Restart

I really liked this map game, the concept is fun and the area for imagination is great, I think if we just restart this map game and get someone else to watch over it, don't make any sudden nuclear wars or cause any other implausibilities then we can all have fun with this map game. Ownerzmcown 02:21, August 10, 2010 (UTC) Would anybody else be interested in running this map game? Ownerzmcown 15:36, August 10, 2010 (UTC)

I'll most likely join. How's the restart going to work? ProfessorMcG 00:27, August 13, 2010 (UTC)

We pretty much just start where we left off. Ownerzmcown 00:53, August 13, 2010 (UTC)

Oppose deletion

I disagree with deleting map games just because they are inactive. If they have some work than they can be put in the Inactive Games category. Mitro 01:30, December 15, 2010 (UTC)

New Nation

I would like to create my own little nation, if that's possible. Please write me a message.

Sweden!

I've joined as Sweden. Basically, after first turn, I'm still waiting for second turn. ~LZ

Ummm..... you know this has been gone for a year and a half, right? Lordganon 04:58, February 15, 2012 (UTC)
