Morean Monarchs[]
How exactly would I cite the Despot of Moreos, who is technically a monarch? Should I link to the Confedera-errr Federation's page, or simply only put "Despotate of Moreos" on the line? Mr.Xeight 17:23, February 20, 2010 (UTC)
- Are you asking about how to link? Since Moreos doesn't have its own page, right now it links to the Greece page. As for the other information, I assumed the style "His Highness" because Despot seems roughly equivalent in rank to Duke, Emir, Sheikh, etc. I made the same assumption for the Khan of Aralia. The Notes box says that Moreos is part of Greece. You can fill in the other information, including his name, dynasty and consort (if applicable), date of accession, and a flag for Moreos if you want to make one. Habsburg case[]
Just curious. What happened to the Habsburgs ITTL? Otto at least was in Bavaria around the time Doomsday hit. It may have been possible for him, or his relatives/descendants to survive and stake claims to the empty Austrian throne. (202.138.180.35 02:11, March 11, 2010 (UTC))
- Was he in Bavaria? He was a member of the European Parliament at the time and they hold two sessions in Strasbourg in September. Or was that true in 1983? Mitro 05:15, March 11, 2010 (UTC)
- According to Wikipedia, Otto von Habsburg became a citizen of the Austrian Republic in 1963 and was elected an MEP in 1973. So I'd guess if he survived the post-Doomsday privations (which hit Austria, even though it held together as a nation more-or-less), he'd be retired from a career in the politics of the Alpine Confederation. The Prince Bishop recently passed away, actually. A replacement has not yet been appointed by the Vatican. Louisiannan 19:03, March 12, 2010 (UTC)
- We don't even know if the Vatican in this ATL has a pope. In reality I think they probably decided already even if we haven't. Mitro 19:38, March 12, 2010 (UTC)
- I noticed that Bishop Joan had died when I put this chart together, but figured that date and nature of death would be different from OTL and you'd change it when you were ready. Benkarnell 18:50, March 14, 2010 (UTC)
Elizabeth II[]
I'm wondering about Elizabeth II. Did she die? If yes, who replaced her. Is it King Andrew? Then what would be situation with Papua New Guinea? Doctor261 (Talk to Doctor261) 10:56, June 30, 2012 (UTC)
Elizabeth died in 1984 from a combination of factors.
King Andrew is her successor.
The situation in Papua is debatable. Some of the former commonwealth realms recognize him as their king, some have gone over to variants of republicanism. The ANZC itself, for instance, while still having a position called the "Governor General" no longer has a connection to the crown.
Papua, can go either way. As an associated state of the ANZC, they can do as they wish in this department - and this does go either way, as several of these members are monarchies, be it native like in Hawaii, or King Andrew like in the Yukon.

What I'm thinking is, when Western Papua(muslim majority) joined Papua New Guinea, my guess would be that majority of PNG's population would decline the crown of christian king. But would population have much impact on this kind of politics? Doctor261 (Talk to Doctor261) 04:55, July 1, 2012 (UTC)
...You may want to have a look at the demographics over there. Western New Guinea has a Protestant majority - more the fifty percent of the population belongs to one Protestant Church or another. Only twenty-one percent are Muslim - and there's even more Catholics in the area than that, at twenty-four percent of the population. And to add to that, just because someone is Muslim doesn't mean they would such an attitude, either.
Not only that, but, at best, they would have a third of the population of the state.

I don't think Indonesia is going to give up west Papua so readily. From what I've read in the ANZC article, Indonesia does reasonably well post-Doomsday. I think a monarchy in Papua is a good idea though. That way, there could be a similar problem to that which occurred earlier this year. (constitutional crisis). Just on a different note, was the crisis reported on much in North America/Europe? Callumthered 07:49, July 1, 2012 (UTC)
Read the Papua, Aceh, and Indonesia articles. Indonesia does not do well Post-Doomsday. Central authority in Indonesia barely exists at all from 1984-1989, and the people in western New Guinea have ANZC support.
As to the question, Cal, the answer is barely.

Sorry, I'd misread Doctor's post. I thought he had proposed the union of New Guinea, hadn't realised it was already canon.
It's quite a shame such important news didn't receive significant coverage overseas; there was some, but not enough here. I mean, get enough coverage of US presidential primaries, which have possibly less impact on us over here than insecurity in our region. Callumthered 08:20, July 1, 2012 (UTC) PS by our and we, I mean Australia.
King of Macedonia[]
Shouldn't Aleksander Karadjordjević be on this list? He is the King of (Slavic) Macedonia in this timeline, shouldn't he be included?DasBull$ (talk) 01:55, April 15, 2018 (UTC)
