nice, you need a map, with donw land behind water, Buenos Aires in Argentina down too, but like other cities a think the high part of her buildin is still upper the see, (of course Casa Rosada -the persident resident is watered) --Fero 03:10, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

200 m are too much i think, and too fast, you need date, like

  • 3m marzo 1-30 2000 add to see level of last mond
  • 4m abril 1-30 2000 add to see level of last mond
  • 5m mayo 1-30 2000 add to see level of last mond
  • 5m agosto 1-30 2001 add to see level of last mond
  • 4m septiembre 1-30 2001 add to see level of last mond
  • 2m october 1-30 2001 add to see level of last mond

Water wordl in a mond is too much--Fero 03:38, 8 November 2008 (UTC)

there is only enough ice to cover the world in 100 meters of sea level rise. --Mean Mr Mustard 01:53, November 18, 2009 (UTC)

Ideas/Comments/Questions[]

  • What is a plausible explanation for such a rise in sea water?
  • When would the rising sea levels overwhelm the Thames Barrier and flood London? Where will the refugees go? Where would Britain's capital be relocated to?

This is starting to read like Flood, by Stephen Baxter. He offered an explanation that Gia (scientific Gia, that it is) "Caused" a huge release of under sea bed water to "restore" the earths biomass/diversity via a global, storm-tossed ocean. The depressing thing about that was the entire world was flooded and some lucky few escaped on a FTL ship and others in an undersea habitat. My advice is A) make it not a world ending event. B) cause sea level rises to cease around 2018ish. C) a plausible explanation would perhaps be a combination of melting ice across the world and a massive release of water contained in the crust from some geological event. I wasn't actually planning on ending the world so that is a good thing. Also thanks for the idea for the POD. I have been toying with the idea of the Kyoto Protocol never being drafted and nuclear testing never ending. Mitro 18:37, April 26, 2010 (UTC)

If I might make a suggestion, I think you should add to the timeline describing the 2010 Haiti earthquake as being a tsunami that devastated the coast of Mexico, the southern United Sates, and the few Caribbean nations not underwater. Riley.Konner 01:00, May 24, 2010 (UTC)

useful website[]

you may find this website useful [1] the flooding levels go from 1 m flood to 60 m flood--Smoggy80 16:29, June 27, 2011 (UTC)

Other possible UK survivor areas[]

In addition to the Scottish Islands. Depending on how high the water gets:

Yorkshire has high ground, particularly North Yorkshire, Cumbria has large amounts of high ground as has central Wales, parts of Devon and Cornwall (Dartmoor/Exmoor and Bodmin Moor) would have bits above sea level, The Pennines would also have sections above sea level as would the Peak District as well as the North and South Downs and the Lincolnshire and Yorkshire Wolds

A good new Capital City for a flooded UK would be Birmingham--Smoggy80 16:06, April 30, 2012 (UTC)
