Conflict with Canon[]

According to the article, "Captain Cook" discovered the area. By this, I assume the author meant James Cook, but this would go against canon. James Cook never discovered Antarctica. But if he did in TTL, this would mean Bellingshausen would have been the second, and a lot would need to be changed.

I recommend that Edward Bransfield, an Antarctic explorer, would explore the area, and the country would be named after his work. The city Cookstown could easily be named after Cook, who came close to settling the area. ChrisL123 15:01, September 25, 2011 (UTC)

I thought I'd fixed most of the counter-canon in the British Antarctic articles, but apparently not. The "real" canon for Eduarda is basically the same as your suggestion; I think Bransfield founds Grahamland in 1820 and then discovers the Eduarda region later that year. Thanks for pointing it out, anyway! - Mister Sheen 17:00, September 25, 2011 (UTC)
