Salvage Nations?

So I was wondering if it would be okay to write an article about this: towns and encampments inhabited by scavengers like Boom Towns in the american west. I imagine they would be run by quickly-constructed companies who appoint security and administration, only to dissolve when the salvage runs out. They would probably last anywhere from one to twelve years, depending upon the amount of salvage. They would likely be important stopping points for caravans until their inevitable dissolution.

I'd ask rubble directly. He'd probs be cool with it though. AlphaAuxiliatrix (talk) 19:27, April 17, 2016 (UTC)

Hi, I have a few things I want to ask and a few things I want to have considered.

1. What year is the current TL in. I know it's the 90's, but I want to be accurate. 2. Should we make a list of people who survive ITTL? For example, what is John Lennon doing ITTL? 3. Does immigration still happen in this world. Example, could say John Lennon immigrate to America? 4. How many nations can I create? 5. How badly is the planet damaged?

This is just a verbatim copy of Amerigo's Cuban Missile War timeline on! BNSF1995, Alive since 1995 18:57, April 1, 2017 (UTC)

It shares a (fairly common) Point of Divergence. The content after the war is completely different Bryce III - ☕ Tea?Wintonia.png 22:28, April 1, 2017 (UTC)

It's not just the POD-entire sentences are copy-pasted from Amerigo's work.Jack Vexx (talk) 19:33, April 20, 2017 (UTC)

Hello Mr. Vexx! Im actually super glad you brought this up- yeah the POD is p common an idea, but I was unaware of the existance of Amerigo's timeline (nt a big browser of, what I think happened was that a contributor (former maybe? Im unsure, ive been absent for multiple years), when expanding the main page, stole those lines, and I not knowing of Amerigo's work had not seen it. So for that, I severely apologize! I was totally unaware. In all honesty, the project is incredibly dead at this point, so its unlikely any of us will edit it, unfortunately. Its just not something I have time for anymore :( Therubbleoroursins (talk) 22:38, June 17, 2018 (UTC)

Could the Soviet Union really inflict that much damage on America?

IIRC, the Soviet Union had less than 40 ICBMs in 1962. Even if they did manage to get off their own strike before being destroyed, I seriously doubt they'd be able to inflict enough damage to destroy the United States.Jack Vexx (talk) 19:14, April 20, 2017 (UTC)

At the time, the idea was that rather than actual pound for pound destruction, it was moreso the destruction of global trade, the abandonment of the federal government, and general social chaos that caused the state of dissarray.Therubbleoroursins (talk) 22:45, June 17, 2018 (UTC)
